Qatar Stock Exchange Rings the Bell for Financial Literacy

Doha: Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) today hosted a bell ringing ceremony as part of its participation in the World Investor Week initiated by IOSCO and the World Federation of Exchanges.

Rashid bin Ali Al Mansoori, CEO of Qatar Stock Exchange, highlighted QSE’s ongoing efforts to enhance financial literacy among all society segments which forms an important pillar of the Bourse’s strategy in a way contributing to the sustainability goals as well as the human and economic pillars of Qatar National Vision 2030 aiming to build a vibrant knowledge based economy.

QSE cares about the financial education of the people of our country, particularly young people. As a result, our strategic plan includes a number of financial literacy objectives focused on spreading awareness among researchers, issuers, brokers and investors of all age groups. Since 2013, the QSE has provided financial educational training to more than 10,000 students belonging to various educational institutions, universities, schools and military colleges. Al Manoori said.

Hussain Mohammed Al Abdulla, QSE’s Director of Marketing and Communications, said: “QSE participation in this global initiative demonstrates our commitment towards enhancing financial literacy and investment awareness through various programs and initiatives that have been expanded and developed over the years.”

In line with the social responsibility of Qatar Stock Exchange and the precautionary measures taken to combat the COVID-19, the QSE’s Marketing and Communications Department launched a distance learning program, which includes free online courses for the public. The courses, which are given by a group of specialized university professors and QSE experts, are aimed to promote securities investment and trading awareness among various segments of the local community. The number of participants in this program over the past four months reached about 2,700 participants, Al Abdulla pointed out.

الدوحة: نظمت بورصة قطر اليوم، فعالية قرع الجرس بهدف نشر الثقافة المالية تلبية لدعوة اتحاد البورصات العالمية WFE للمشاركة في فعالية الأسبوع العالمي للمستثمر الذي تنظمه المنظمة الدولية لهيئات أسواق المال (IOSCO).

وبهذه المناسبة أعرب السيد راشد بن علي المنصوري الرئيس التنفيذي لبورصة قطر عن حرص البورصة على تعزيز الثقافة المالية لكافة شرائح المجتمع وخصوصا الشباب، وذلك على اعتبار أن هذا الهدف يشكل محورا مهما من محاور استراتيجية البورصة بما يساهم في تحقيق جهود الاستدامة الاقتصادية ودعم المرتكزات البشرية تحقيقا لرؤية قطر الوطنية 2030 التي تسعى إلى بناء اقتصاد وطني قوي قائم على المعرفة.

وأشار المنصوري إلى أن بورصة قطر قامت بتعزيز الثقافة الاستثمارية والاقتصادية لآلاف الطلبة، حيث تعمل البورصة بكل جهد من أجل إحداث تغيير إيجابي في ثقافة الاستثمار في المجتمع، مضيفا أن البورصة قامت منذ عام 2013 بتوفير برامج تعليمية لما يزيد على 10,000 مشارك يمثلون عددا من المؤسسات التعليمية والجامعات والكليات داخل الدولة، بالإضافة إلى العديد من فئات المجتمع الأخرى، كالمستثمرين والمحللين ومندوبي الصحافة الاقتصادية.

من جانبه، صرح السيد حسين محمد العبدالله مدير التسويق والاتصال في بورصة قطر، قائلا: “إن مشاركة بورصة قطر في هذه المبادرة العالمية تدل على اهتمام البورصة بتعزيز التوعية المالية والاستثمارية عبر مجموعة من البرامج والمبادرات التي نمت وتبلورت عبر السنوات”، مشيرا إلى أن إدارة التسويق والاتصالات في بورصة قطر، وضمن إطار المسؤولية الاجتماعية وتماشيا مع الإجراءات الاحترازية المطبقة في الدولة لمكافحة فيروس كورونا المستجد (كوفيد-19)، أطلقت مؤخرا برنامجا مجانيا للتعلم عن بعد مخصصا لعامة الجمهور من فئة الشباب والمهتمين.

وأضاف أن البرنامج الذي يشارك فيه نخبة من الأساتذة في الجامعات والخبراء من البورصة يهدف إلى تقديم محتوى تعليمي يساهم في تطوير الثقافة الاستثمارية لجميع شرائح المجتمع المحلي حول أساسيات التداول والاستثمار في البورصة. وقد وصل عدد المشاركين في هذا البرنامج على مدى الأشهر الأربعة الأخيرة إلى نحو 2700 مشارك.
