QRCS Supports Health and Relief Projects in Palestinian Territories

Doha: The Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) announced the implementation of four major humanitarian projects in Palestinian cities, villages and towns in the West Bank and occupied Jerusalem, in cooperation with the Palestine Red Crescent Society, at a total budget of QR 4,920,630. The projects benefited 68,800 people.

A project has been implemented to distribute food parcels to 3,780 families, comprising about 18,900 people, in light of the increased needs of Palestinian families from previous years due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, which has caused unemployment rates to double as a result of the suspension of many businesses and professions.

QRCS also implemented, in cooperation with its Palestinian counterpart, a live meat distribution project to cover the needs of 8,460 Palestinian families in Hebron and its villages, Ramallah and Al Bireh governorate, the villages northwest of Jerusalem, Qalqilya, Tubas and the northern Jordan Valley, Salfit, Jericho and the southern Jordan Valley, Nablus and Central Jordan Valley, Tulkarm, and Jenin, and the city of Bethlehem and its villages.

In the health sector, QRCS completed a project to restore and equip the operations and sterilization sections of the Palestinian Red Crescent Hospital – Jerusalem. The project included the restoration of the operations and sterilization sections, and the entire electricity network. The operations department was provided with 11 medical devices.

الدوحة: أعلن الهلال الأحمر القطري عن تنفيذ أربعة مشاريع إنسانية كبرى في المدن والقرى والبلدات الفلسطينية بالضفة الغربية والقدس المحتلة بميزانية إجمالية قدرها 4,920,630 ريالا قطريا، واستفاد منها 68,800 شخص، وذلك بالتعاون مع جمعية الهلال الأحمر الفلسطيني.

فقد تم تنفيذ مشروع توزيع طرود غذائية على 3,780 أسرة تضم حوالي 18,900 شخص، في ظل تزايد احتياجات الأسر الفلسطينية عن الأعوام السابقة بسبب جائحة فيروس كورونا /كوفيدـ19/، والتي تسببت في مضاعفة معدلات البطالة نتيجة توقف الكثير من الأعمال والمهن، وبالتالي انقطاع الكثير من العمال عن العمل وتوقف مصادر دخلهم.

كما نفذ الهلال الأحمر القطري بالتعاون مع نظيره الفلسطيني مشروع توزيع اللحوم الحية لتغطية احتياجات 8,460 أسرة فلسطينية في مدينة الخليل وقراها، ومحافظة رام الله والبيرة، وقرى شمال غرب القدس، ومدينة قلقيلية، وطوباس والأغوار الشمالية، وسلفيت، وأريحا والأغوار الجنوبية، ونابلس والأغوار الوسطى، وطولكرم، وجنين، ومدينة بيت لحم وقراها

وفي القطاع الصحي، أنجز الهلال الأحمر القطري مشروعا لترميم وتجهيز قسمي العمليات والتعقيم في مستشفى الهلال الأحمر الفلسطيني القدس، وقد شمل المشروع ترميم قسمي العمليات والتعقيم، وتجديد شبكة الكهرباء بالكامل، كما تم تزويد قسم العمليات بـ11 جهازا طبيا.
