Gaza: Qatar Charity inaugurated ‘Manabar Al-Nour’ well in the Gaza Strip in Palestine, in cooperation with the Palestinian Water Authority to cover the water shortage, which constitutes a crisis for the residents of the aren.
More than 10,000 Palestinians who live in the west part of Khan Yunis city in southern Gaza Strip are benefiting from the well.
Engineer Marwan Al Bardawil, director of Projects Coordination Unit at the Palestinian Water Authority, said, “this project contributes effectively to covering the water deficit in western Khan Yunis governorate,” praising the cooperation with Qatar Charity which aims to meet the water needs of the people of Gaza.
He stressed the importance of continued cooperation with Qatar Charity to implement more development projects in order to improve living chances in Gaza Strip.
For his part, Dr. Alaa Al Din El-Battah, mayor of Khan Yunis, stressed the importance and necessity of well-digging projects, especially in Khan Yunis governorate given the urgent need for water in light of expansion and population augmentation.
He explained that the municipality is facing a problem due to the limited water sources, which do not meet the growing needs of Palestinian citizens, praising the efforts made by Qatar Charity to support the water sector by digging wells.
Meanwhile, Engineer Mohammed Abu Haloub, director of Qatar Charity’s office in the Gaza Strip, said, “Qatar Charity has started implementing the project in cooperation with the Palestinian Water Authority since the beginning of this year.” He pointed out that such projects are related to digging water wells in remote areas that suffer from water scarcity, as well as to maintaining and rehabilitating sewage pumping stations in the Gaza Strip.
Abu Haloub stressed that Qatar Charity is working hard to meet the population’s water needs and is striving to provide the minimum requirements for a decent life in the Gaza Strip.
It is worth noting that Qatar Charity’s office signed last January a memorandum of understanding with the Palestinian Water Authority, to implement development projects in the Strip.

غزة: افتتحت قطر الخيرية بئر /منابر النور/ في قطاع غزة بفلسطين، بالتعاون مع سلطة المياه الفلسطينية لتغطية عجز المياه الذي يشكل أزمة لسكان المنطقة.
ويستفيد من البئر أكثر من 10 آلاف فلسطيني يقطنون غرب مدينة خانيونس جنوب قطاع غزة.
وقال المهندس مروان البردويل مدير وحدة تنسيق المشاريع في سلطة المياه الفلسطينية، “إن هذا المشروع يسهم بشكل فاعل في تغطية العجز الحاصل في المياه في منطقة غرب محافظة خانيونس”، مشيدا بالتعاون مع قطر الخيرية في هذا المجال من أجل سد احتياجات سكان قطاع غزة للمياه.
وأكد على أهمية استمرار التعاون مع قطر الخيرية لتنفيذ مزيد من المشاريع التنموية والتطويرية من أجل الوصول إلى تحسين فرص الحياة في قطاع غزة.
بدوره أكد الدكتور علاء الدين البطة رئيس بلدية خانيونس، على أهمية وضرورة مشاريع حفر الآبار خصوصا في محافظة خانيونس جنوب القطاع، وذلك نظرا للحاجة الماسة إلى الماء في ظل حالة التوسع وتضخم عدد السكان.
وأوضح أن البلدية تواجه مشكلة نتيجة محدودية مصادر المياه والتي لا تفي بتغطية الاحتياج المتزايد للمواطنين الفلسطينيين، مشيدا بالجهود التي تبذلها قطر الخيرية من أجل دعم وإسناد قطاع المياه من خلال حفر الآبار.
من جهته قال المهندس محمد أبو حلوب مدير مكتب قطر الخيرية في قطاع غزة، “إن قطر الخيرية بدأت بتنفيذ المشروع بالتعاون مع سلطة المياه الفلسطينية منذ مطلع العام الحالي”.
وأشار إلى أن هذه المشاريع متعلقة بحفر آبار مياه في المناطق النائية التي تعاني شحا في المياه، إلى جانب صيانة وتأهيل محطات ضخ مياه الصرف الصحي في قطاع غزة.
وأكد أبو حلوب، أن قطر الخيرية تعمل جاهدة من أجل سد احتياجات السكان من المياه وتعمل على توفير الحد الأدنى من متطلبات العيش الكريم في قطاع غزة.
جدير بالذكر أن مكتب قطر الخيرية، وقع في يناير الماضي مذكرة تفاهم مع سلطة المياه الفلسطينية، لتنفيذ مشاريع تطويرية في قطاع غزة.
