Demands for the completion of the opening of metro shops

Doha: Users of The Doha Metro have called for the rapid completion of the opening of the rest of the shops on the Doha Metro, and called for more shops, as well as allowing existing stores to offer any kind of new services that are not prohibited to expand commercial opportunities for tenants. They praised the efforts of Qatar Rail or metro operators to establish shops in the metro with competitive advantages and diverse in commercial spaces, enabling business owners to choose the space that suits the size of their business, especially since there is a focus on entrepreneurs and small businesses to enable them to invest in these stores.

They hoped that the rental value would be appropriate and in line with the conditions of entrepreneurs and SMEs, so that they could expand their business in the future with the encouragement of such ambitious projects. They praised the five-year occupancy contract and fixed fees, especially as they included services, water and electricity facilities. They said that stricter requirements for investment in metro shops are necessary, so that the investment opportunity for small and medium-sized companies is wide and real, so that there is no opportunity, for example, to rent sub-leaseors or otherwise.

Investment value

They stressed the great investment value that shops at Doha Metro stations offer to entrepreneurs and smEs. They described the presence of shops on the Doha Metro as important for passengers or travellers on these lines as they meet the needs of railway users and residents in the vicinity. They appreciated the efforts of the State represented by the competent authorities. They said that the shops are a state initiative that will have a significant impact on strengthening the role of SMEs and entrepreneurs in Qatar. They said that the continued government support for entrepreneurs and SMEs and the continuous encouragement has developed a lot of their work and made Qatar one of the best countries in supporting entrepreneurs, and stressed the effectiveness of the projects offered in raising the contribution of SMEs and entrepreneurs in achieving sustainable development organized by the country in supporting the growth of the economy and its diversification and transformation towards a knowledge-based economy.

The commercial spaces of the Doha Metro are the first of its kind in Qatar as they allow business owners and the retail sector to reach the segment of metro users and residents of neighbouring neighborhoods. The stations offer four main types of different shops, including services, food and beverages, supermarkets and public retail stores.

Users’ needs

Abdullah Mohammed al-Balushi described the presence of shops in the Doha Metro as important for passengers or those travelling on these lines because they meet the needs of railway users and residents in the vicinity. He said they represent a unique investment opportunity for businessmen and investors, especially entrepreneurs and small and medium-sized businesses, where Doha Metro stations are characterized by the provision of four main types of business categories, including public services, restaurants, groceries and miscellaneous goods, as well as dedicated spaces for ATMs and vending machines.

He said that the shops are an initiative of the state that will have a significant impact in strengthening the role of SMEs and entrepreneurs in Qatar, as government support continues for entrepreneurs and small businesses, which has made Qatar one of the best countries in supporting entrepreneurs. He stressed the effectiveness of the projects offered in raising the contribution of SMEs and entrepreneurs in achieving sustainable development that the country has organized in supporting the growth and diversification of the economy and its transformation towards a knowledge-based economy. He added that the shops in the metro will enhance the development of small businesses and various projects for entrepreneurs, he said, adding that he hopes that the distribution of shops at a reasonable price will be commensurate with the conditions of small and medium-sized companies and entrepreneurs. That would be encouraging for them and a motivation to revive commercial traffic at the stations.

He stressed the need to comply with the directives and precautionary measures announced on drinking and food in the shops of train stations to ensure the safety of all metro users and employees.

Spaces displayed

Jaber Saeed Al Marri said that the spaces offered as shops in Doha Metro stations for rent are one of the important needs to make the metro a full-service station for metro users, citizens, residents and visitors, and it is clear that the demand for metro shops will increase during the country’s hosting of the World Cup 2022, especially as guests, visitors and tourists will be in a semi-permanent relationship during the day with the metro to move between stadiums or tourist areas and the various landmarks they are going to visit or stand on during their stay in Qatar, he stressed the need for these stores to provide exceptional service to consumers, and to establish a new concept of real luxury as announced by some stores.

He added that providing a distinctive shopping service for all consumers as they travel through Doha Metro stations will enhance the commercial traffic in the State and emphasize the excellence that Qatar has adopted in all its sectors. He called for speeding up the opening and expansion of the rest of the shops in the various stations, if possible, by adding some services, such as the establishment of rest rooms, especially for children, where families with their children need it. He said that the presence of resting areas can raise the consumption index within the stations, especially since the metro stations have been created in the latest model and have all means of comfort and well-being and therefore there will be no rush on the part of passengers to leave the station. He stressed the great investment value that shops in Doha metro stations offer for entrepreneurs and small and medium-sized companies, especially if the value of the rents offered is symbolic and commensurate with the size of the investments of Small and Medium Enterprises and entrepreneurs.

Ismail Shams called for the completion of the opening of the rest of the shops on the Doha Metro. He said the diverse services provided by the shops in The Doha Metro, which include a wide range of commodities and daily necessities, ready-to-eat foods such as sandwiches and snacks, high quality food and goods and affordable prices within the framework of a premium marketing service, is important for consumers, while supporting the economy and business activity in Qatar.

He predicted that the demand for these stores will rise as the country hosts various events, especially the World Cup 2022, because foreign guests from Europeans and Asians are used to shopping fast and spending most of the time outside hotels to spend the most time enjoying tourism and exploration of the country they visit, and praised the efforts made by the Qatar Rail or the officials of the metro to establish commercial shops in the metro with competitive advantages and variety in the commercial spaces so that business owners can choose the space that suits their business, especially as there is a focus on entrepreneurs and small businesses to enable them to invest in these stores.

القيمة الاستثمارية

وأكدوا على القيمة الاستثمارية الكبيرة التي توفرها المحلات التجارية في محطات مترو الدوحة بالنسبة لرواد الأعمال والشركات الصغيرة والمتوسطة. ووصفوا وجود المحلات التجارية في مترو الدوحة بأنها مهمة للمسافرين أو المتنقلين على هذه الخطوط كونها تلبي احتياجات مستخدمي خطوط السكك الحديدية والقاطنين في المناطق المجاورة. وثمنوا الجهود التي تقوم بها الدولة ممثلة في الجهات المختصة. وقالوا إن المحلات التجارية مبادرة مقدرة من الدولة سيكون لها اثر كبير في تعزيز دور المشاريع الصغيرة والمتوسطة ومشاريع رواد الأعمال في قطر. وقالوا إن تواصل الدعم الحكومي لرواد الأعمال والشركات الصغيرة والمتوسطة والتشجيع المستمر طور كثيرا من أعمالهم وجعل قطر من افضل الدول في دعم رواد الأعمال، كما أكد على فاعلية المشاريع المطروحة في رفع مساهمة المشاريع الصغيرة والمتوسطة ورواد الأعمال في تحقيق التنمية المستدامة التي انتظمت بالبلاد في دعم نمو الاقتصاد وتنوعه وتحوله نحو اقتصاد المعرفة.

يذكر أن المساحات التجارية في مترو الدوحة هي الأولى من نوعها في قطر كونها تتيح المجال لأصحاب الأعمال وقطاع التجزئة الوصول لشريحة مستخدمي المترو والقاطنين في الأحياء المجاورة. وتوفر المحطات أربعة أنواع رئيسية من المحلات التجارية المختلفة، تشمل الخدمات، والأغذية والمشروبات، ومحلات السوبر ماركت، ومحلات التجزئة العامة.

احتياجات المستخدمين

ووصف عبد الله محمد البلوشي وجود المحلات التجارية في مترو الدوحة بأنها مهمة للمسافرين أو المتنقلين على هذه الخطوط كونها تلبي احتياجات مستخدمي خطوط السكك الحديدية والقاطنين في المناطق المجاورة. وقال إنها تمثل فرصة استثمارية فريدة من نوعها لرجال الأعمال والمستثمرين، خاصة رواد الأعمال والشركات الصغيرة والمتوسطة، حيث تتميز محطات مترو الدوحة بتوفير أربعة أنواع رئيسية من الفئات التجارية، تشمل الخدمات العامة، والمطاعم، والبقالة، والبضائع المتنوعة، إضافة لوجود مساحات مخصصة لأجهزة الصراف الآلي وآلات البيع.

وقال إن المحلات التجارية مبادرة من الدولة سيكون لها أثر كبير في تعزيز دور المشاريع الصغيرة والمتوسطة ورواد الأعمال في قطر، في ظل تواصل الدعم الحكومي لرواد الأعمال والشركات الصغيرة والذي جعل قطر من افضل الدول في دعم رواد الأعمال. وأكد على فاعلية المشاريع المطروحة في رفع مساهمة المشاريع الصغيرة والمتوسطة ورواد الأعمال في تحقيق التنمية المستدامة التي انتظمت البلاد في دعم نمو الاقتصاد وتنوعه وتحوله نحو اقتصاد المعرفة. وأضاف إن المحلات التجارية في المترو ستعزز من تطور المشاريع الصغيرة والمشاريع المختلفة لرواد الأعمال، معربا عن أمله في أن يكون التوزيع للمحلات التجارية بسعر معقول يتناسب مع أوضاع الشركات الصغيرة والمتوسطة ورواد الأعمال. وقال إن ذلك سيكون مشجعا لهم ودافعا لإنعاش الحركة التجارية في المحطات.

وأكد على ضرورة الالتزام في الوقت الحالي بالتوجيهات والإجراءات الاحترازية المعلنة حول تناول المشروبات والأطعمة في المحلات التجارية بمحطات القطارات لضمان سلامة جميع مستخدمي المترو والعاملين فيه.

المساحات المعروضة

وقال جابر سعيد المري إن المساحات المعروضة كمحلات تجارية في محطات مترو الدوحة للإيجار واحدة من التجهيزات المهمة لتجعل من المترو محطة متكاملة الخدمات بالنسبة لمستخدمي المترو من المواطنين والمقيمين والزوار، ومن الواضح أن نسبة الإقبال على متاجر المترو سترتفع خلال استضافة البلاد لمونديال 2022، خاصة وان الضيوف والزوار والسياح سيكونون على علاقة شبه دائمة خلال اليوم مع المترو في التنقل ما بين الاستادات أو المناطق السياحية والمعالم المختلفة التي يكونون بصدد زيارتها أو الوقوف عليها خلال تواجدهم في قطر، مؤكدا على ضرورة أن تعمل هذه المحلات على تقديم خدمة استثنائية للمستهلكين، وإرساء مفهوم جديد للرفاهية حقيقية كما أعلنت عن ذلك بعض المحلات.وأضاف إن توفير خدمة تسوّق مميّزة لجميع المستهلكين أثناء تنقلهم عبر محطات مترو الدوحة سيعزز من الحركة التجارية في الدولة ويؤكد على التميز التي انتهجته قطر في كافة قطاعاتها. ودعا إلى الإسراع في تكملة افتتاح بقية المحلات التجارية في المحطات المختلفة، والتوسع فيها إن كان هناك إمكانية، وذلك من خلال إضافة بعض الخدمات، كإقامة استراحات، خاصة للأطفال، حيث يحتاج لمثل الأمر الأسر التي تكون برفقة أطفالها. وقال إن وجود الاستراحة يمكن أن يرفع من مؤشر الاستهلاك داخل المحطات، خاصة وان محطات المترو قد تم إنشاؤها على احدث طراز وتتمتع بسبل الراحة والرفاهية وبالتالي لن يكون هناك استعجال من قبل المستخدمين في مغادرة المحطة. واكد على القيمة الاستثمارية الكبيرة التي توفرها المحلات التجارية في محطات مترو الدوحة بالنسبة لرواد الأعمال والشركات الصغيرة والمتوسطة، خاصة إذا كانت قيمة الإيجارات المطروحة رمزية وتتناسب مع حجم الاستثمارات لدى الشركات الصغيرة والمتوسطة ورواد الأعمال.

المحلات التجارية
