125 tons of waste removed from northwest beaches

Doha: The Ministry of Municipality, represented by the Department of Public Cleanliness (Beaches and Islands Section), completed the first phase of the 20-day clean-up campaign on the northern and northwestern beaches, starting from Aba Zaluf Park to Al-Reem Reserve.
The campaign resulted in picking up and removing large quantities of waste on beaches estimated at approximately (125 tons), a variety of timber residues, plastic cans and bags. 45 car tyres, 7 iron barrels, 2 fiberglass water tanks, dead animals (1) large sea cow and (2) turtles have been also removed, and work is continuing on the second phase of Al-Reem Reserve to Doha Al-Haseen.

الدوحة: أنجزت وزارة البلدية ممثلة بقسم الشواطئ والجزر التابع لإدارة النظافة العامّة المرحلة الأولى لحملة تنظيف الشواطئ الشمالية والشمالية الغربيّة والتي استمرت (20 يومًا) بداية من متنزه أبا ظلوف إلى محمية الريم. وأسفرت الحملة عن تجميع وإزالة كميات كبيرة من المخلفات المتواجدة على الشواطئ والتي تقدّر بحوالي (125 طنًا) تقريبًا، مخلفات متنوّعة من الأخشاب والعلب البلاستيكيّة والأكياس، كما تمت إزالة (45) إطار سيارة و(7) براميل حديد وعدد (2) خزان مياه فايبر وحيوانات نافقة (1) بقرة البحر كبيرة و(2) سلحفاة، وما زال العمل مُستمرًا بالمرحلة الثانية من محمية الريم إلى دوحة الحصين.
