Ashghal to Install 653 Chargers for Electric Buses as per MOTC Plan

Doha: As part of the State’s strategy to shift to clean energy within the Qatar National Vision 2030, the Public Works Authority ‘Ashghal’ announces beginning of installing 653 electric chargers and 713 inverters in 41 charging sites under construction for the Public Bus Infrastructure Program to serve the fleet of electric buses to operate according to the plan set by Ministry of Transport and Communication.

Within this project, Ashghal will build various electrical charging points inside and outside Doha and provide all electrical utilities and other necessary infrastructure to connect chargers with electrical transformers and various power stations.

Largest electric charging solar-powered station

Ashghal will construct the largest electric charging station in the region, which operates on solar energy and monitor & control the operation of all the sites involved. High-efficiency solar cell shades will be established, becoming the first bus station in the region working purely on solar energy source, one important aspects of renewable energy. These sheds containing 10720 solar panels will generate 4 megawatts per day, as they will work alongside traditional sources (power station) to feed the energy needed to operate the project with highest standards and latest specifications.

The station will also have 217 double gun electric charging device for buses with a capacity of 150 kilowatts, in addition to five electric fast chargers for buses with a capacity of 300 kilowatts, covering 474 bus stops.

Eng. Abdulhakim Al Hashimi, Head of Public Projects at Building Projects Department clarified that Ashghal will provide necessary infrastructure for charging electric buses and install various types of chargers including double gun chargers, single chargers to charge buses from any side, and pantographs (fixed and moveable) for charging from topside. Ashghal will also construct special chambers for feeder transformers with provision of electrical installations with a length of about 100 km. Eng. Al Hashimi added that the executing company of this project is a local firm as part of the state’s endeavor to support the local private sector.

Public Bus Infrastructure Programme

Upon completion, the Public Bus Infrastructure Programme aims at integration with various public transport systems especially for supporting transport operations for FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and beyond. The program also aims at increasing the number of public transport users during the next few years by introducing quality means and facilities with highest specifications and global technology, depicting the identity of public transport sector in Qatar.

Earlier, Ashghal had signed 14 new contracts worth 2.4 billion Qatar Riyals for construction of bus stations and bus depots. The new bus stations and depots program implemented by Ashghal’s Buildings Projects Department includes construction of eight main bus stations in different areas including West Bay, Musheireb, Industrial Area, Al-Soudan, Al Gharrafa, Education City, Al Wakra and Lusail, with an average capacity of each unit to contain 25 buses. Within this contract, Ashghal also constructs four huge bus depots in Lusail, Al Rayyan, Industrial Area and Al Wakra, each with an area of 129,000 square meters to 190,000 square meters.

Ashghal will also set up 2,700 bus stops on all major roads, with air-conditioned cabins to wait inside to prevent sunlight and humidity. This will be great comfort for thousands of bus users in many areas.

All the concerned entities are working together to implement a strategy to shift to clean energy in transportation sector, to reduce carbon emissions from traditional vehicles and improve quality of the general climate in Qatar. One important goal of this strategy is to support public transport operations during the conduction of FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, making Qatar the first in the world in hosting the tournament by using environmentally friendly electric vehicles, while integrating with various means of public transport systems.

الدوحة:  في إطار استراتيجية الدولة للتحول إلى استخدام الطاقة النظيفة ضمن رؤية قطر الوطنية 2030، تعلن هيئة الأشغال العامة “أشغال” عن بدء تركيب 653 جهاز شحن و 713 محولاً كهربياً في نحو 41 موقع شحن كهربائى جار إنشائها ضمن برنامج البنية التحتية لحافلات النقل العام لخدمة أسطول الحافلات الكهربائية التي سيتم تشغيلها وفقاً لخطة وزارة المواصلات والاتصالات.

وستقوم “أشغال” بإنشاء نقاط الشحن الكهربية المختلفة داخل الدوحة وخارجها وتوفير كافة التمديدات الكهربائية والبنية التحتية اللازمة لربط أجهزة الشحن بالمحولات الكهربية ومحطات الكهرباء المختلفة.

أكبر محطة شحن بالطاقة الشمسية

ويتضمن المشروع إنشاء أكبر محطة في المنطقة للشحن الكهربائي تعمل بالطاقة الشمسية وتتحكم في كافة المحطات الأخر، حيث سيتم إنشاء مظلات الخلايا الشمسية عالية الكفاءة ليكون أول محطة حافلات في المنطقة تعتمد على مصدر الطاقة الشمسية التي تعد أحد أوجه الطاقة المتجددة الموفرة للطاقة النظيفة، وهذه المظلات تتضمن ألواح شمسية يبلغ عددها 10720 وحدة ستولد 4 /ميجا وات/ في اليوم، حيث ستعمل إلى جانب المصادر التقليدية (محطة الكهرباء) بتغذية الطاقة اللازمة لتشغيل المشروع بشكل عام طبقا لأعلى وأحدث المعايير والمواصفات.

كما ستضم المحطة 217 معدة شحن كهربائية مزدوجة للحافلات بقوة 150 كيلو وات، إلى جانب 5 معدات شحن كهربائية سريعة للحافلات بقوة 300 كيلو وات، مثلما سيتضمن أيضا 474 موقفا للحافلات.

وبهذه المناسبة، أكد المهندس عبدالحكيم الهاشمي، رئيس قسم المشروعات العامة بإدارة مشروعات المباني، أن “أشغال” ستقوم بتوفير البنية التحتية اللازمة لشحن الحافلات الكهربائية وتركيب أنواع مختلفة من أجهزة الشحن لتشمل أجهزة شحن ثنائية وفردية لشحن الحافلات من الأجناب بالإضافة إلى توفير أجهزة فردية لشحن الحافلات من أعلى، ومنها الثابت ومنها المتحرك، مع بناء غرف خاصة بالمحولات المغذية لهذه الأجهزة وتوفير التمديدات الكهربية بطول نحو 100 كيلومتر، مضيفاً أن الشركة المنفذة للمشروع هي شركة وطنية وذلك في إطار سعي الدولة لدعم القطاع الخاص المحلي.

برنامج البنية التحتية لحافلات النقل العام

ويهدف برنامج البنية التحتية لحافلات النقل العام، بعد اكتماله، إلى تحقيق التكامل مع أنظمة النقل العام المختلفة بالإضافة إلى دعم عمليات النقل الخاصة ببطولة كأس العالم لكرة القدم 2022 وما بعد البطولة، فضلا عن زيادة عدد المستخدمين لوسائل النقل العام خلال السنوات القليلة المقبلة من خلال تقديم وسائل ومرافق تتميز بالجودة والنوعية طبقا لأعلى المواصفات والتكنولوجيا المستخدمة عالميا والتي تعبر عن هوية قطاع النقل العام في الدولة.

وكانت هيئة الأشغال العامة “أشغال” وقعت 14 عقدًا جديدًا بهدف إنشاء مواقف ومستودعات للحافلات بقيمة 2,4 مليار ريال ضمن برنامج البنية التحتية للحافلات العامة، ويتضمن برنامج المواقف والمستودعات الجديدة الذي تنفذه إدارة مشروعات المباني في «أشغال» إقامة 8 محطات رئيسية للحافلات في الخليج الغربي ومشيرب والمنطقة الصناعية والسودان والغرافة والمدينة التعليمية والوكرة ولوسيل، والتي تصل متوسط الطاقة الاستيعابية لكل منها إلى نحو 25 حافلة، كما ستقوم أشغال بإنشاء 4 مستودعات ضخمة للحافلات في كل من لوسيل والريان والمنطقة الصناعية والوكرة تتراوح مساحة كل منها ما بين 129,000 متر مربع و190,000 متر مربع.

أيضًا ستقوم “أشغال” بإقامة 2700 موقف للحافلات على كافة الطرق الرئيسية والتي تسمح لآلاف الركاب في العديد من المناطق باستخدام الحافلات مع توفير كبائن مكيفة للانتظار بداخلها للوقاية من أشعة الشمس والرطوبة.

وتعمل الجهات المعنية على تنفيذ استراتيجية التحول إلى الطاقة النظيفة في قطاع المواصلات وتقليل الانبعاثات الكربونية الصادرة عن المركبات التقليدية وتحسين جودة المناخ العام في دولة قطر، وأحد أهم أهداف هذه الاستراتيجية يتمثل في دعم عمليات النقل خلال بطولة كأس العالم لكرة القدم 2022 لتكون دولة قطر الأولى عالميا في استضافة البطولة باستخدام المركبات الكهربائية الصديقة للبيئة بجانب التكامل مع أنظمة النقل العام المختلفة.
