QRCS distributes food packages to 2,400 households in Yemen
«الهلال الأحمر» يوزّع سلات غذائية على 2400 أسرة في اليمن
DOHA: Qatar Red Crescent Society’s (QRCS) mission in Yemen has initiated a Ramadan Iftar food aid project for the poor households and vulnerable groups in two governorates, under the annual Ramadan Campaign 1439 A.H.
The project has so far covered 2,400 households (around 16,800 people) in Taiz and Amanat Al-Asimah, each receiving 1,200 food parcels that contained diverse staples like rice, flour, sugar, vegetable oil, and beans.
In Taiz Governorate, the work has been completed to distribute 400 parcels in Dhubab/ Sabir Al-Mawadim Districts, 400 parcels in Jabal Habashy District, 300 parcels in Maqbanah District, and 100 parcels in Al-Mawasit District.
As for Amanat Al-Asimah Governorate, the work is still in progress to deliver 50 parcels at Al-Tahadi Society for People with Physical Disabilities, 50 parcels at the Home for the Blind, 100 parcels at Al-Aman Home for Blind Female Care, 200 parcels at the Home for Orphan Care and Rehabilitation, 50 parcels at Dar Al-Takaful Orphanage, 50 parcels at Al-Liwaa Female Orphanage, and 50 parcels Al-Wiaam Center for Battered Women.
Other areas of beneficiaries include As-Sabain District (200 parcels), Al-Hasbah neighborhood (150), and Shu’aub District (300).
The purpose of the project is to alleviate the suffering of underserved households, orphans, unprotected women, and people with special needs during the spiritual month of Ramadan. Its ultimate goal is to share the local society their celebrated events and promote human solidarity and social support for the needy during the holy month.
The project is part of QRCS’s Ramadan Campaign for 1439 A.H., which involves QR84m worth of humanitarian and development projects. This includes international projects in 20 countries at a total cost of QR62m, as well as health, social, qualification, and development projects in Qatar at a value exceeding QR10m.
Also, Ramadan projects are currently undertaken in Qatar and 15 other countries, with a budget of QR12,360,000. These include Ramadan Iftar, Eid clothing, and Zakat-ul-Fitr.
تعكف بعثة الهلال الأحمر القطري في اليمن، على تنفيذ مشروع إفطار الصائم للأسر اليمنية الفقيرة، وأسر الأيتام، وذوي الاحتياجات الخاصة، حيث بلغ عدد الأسر المستفيدة حتى الآن 2400 أسرة، تضم حوالي 16800 شخص، وذلك ضمن حملة رمضان لعام 1439 هـ، تحت شعار «أبشروا بالخير».
وتتكون السلة الغذائية الواحدة من 41 كجم من السلع الغذائية الأساسية للأسرة اليمنية، مثل الدقيق، والأرز، والسكر، والزيت، والفاصوليا.
وانقسمت التوزيعات ما بين محافظتي تعز وأمانة العاصمة، بمعدل 1200 سلة لكل منهما. ففي محافظة تعز، تم الانتهاء بالفعل من توزيع 400 سلة في منطقة الضباب/صبر، ومثلها في منطقة جبل حبشي، و300 سلة في منطقة مقبنة، و100 سلة في منطقة المواسط (قدس)، واستفاد من هذه التوزيعات إجمالي 8400 شخص من الأهالي.
وفي أمانة العاصمة، لا تزال عمليات التوزيع جارية لتغطية عدد كبير من المناطق ومراكز الرعاية الاجتماعية، حيث يجري توزيع 50 سلة في جمعية التحدي للمعاقين حركياً، و50 سلة أخرى في دار المكفوفين، و100 سلة في دار الأمان لرعاية الكفيفات، و200 سلة في دار رعاية وتأهيل الأيتام، و50 سلة في دار التكافل للأيتام، و50 سلة في دار اللواء لليتيمات، و50 سلة في مركز الوئام للنساء المعنفات، و200 سلة في منطقة فج عطان/السبعين، و150 سلة في منطقة الحصبة والزراعة، و300 سلة في منطقة مسيك وسعوان. ويقدر عدد المستفيدين من هذه التوزيعات بحوالي 8400 شخص من الأيتام والنساء الضعيفات وذوي الإعاقات والفقراء.
