Katara Announces Ramadan Competition for Short Story

Doha: The Cultural Village Foundation – Katara, announced the launch of the Katara Short Story competition, on the occasion of choosing Doha as the Capital of Culture in the Islamic World for the year 2021, and as a continuation of the short story competitions that the Foundation used to launch annually in the blessed month.
The topic relatives was chosen to be the main focus around which the stories participating in the competition revolve, due to the great importance that Islam places on the relationship of compassion to relatives.
Katara emphasized the necessity of the participants commitment to the topic of the story, with the necessity that the number of words should not be less than 1500 words and not more than 5,000 words. It is also required that the story be written in Standard Arabic, free from spelling errors, taking into account the positions of punctuation. Among the conditions also is that the story has not been previously published in any of the media outlets, or won any prize before, so that it is specific to the competition only.
The participation is available to writers of both sexes without being restricted by age, provided that the contestant has the right to participate with one story only, and it is attached to a word file only, and writers wishing to participate must send their story production in print and in form to the email: storykataraquran.com, Katara explained.
Participants are also required to send a recent colored personal photo of them, along with other information that includes name, address, phone number, e-mail, place and date of birth, provided that Katara Publishing House has the right to publish the winning entries, as the writers sending of the story is a final approval to publish it in the event of winning.
The last date for submitting the entries has been set for 29 Ramadan, and the results of the competition will be announced on July 29. The first-place winner will receive a prize of QR15,000, the second place will win a prize of QR12,000, while the third-place winner will receive a prize of QR10,000.

الدوحة: أعلنت المؤسسة العامة للحي الثقافي /كتارا/، عن إطلاق مسابقة /كتارا للقصة القصيرة/ وذلك بمناسبة اختيار الدوحة عاصمة الثقافة في العالم الإسلامي لعام 2021، واستمرارا لمسابقات القصة القصيرة التي درجت المؤسسة على إطلاقها سنويا في الشهر المبارك.
وقد تم اختيار موضوع /ذوي القربى والأرحام/ ليكون محورا رئيسيا تدور حوله القصص المشاركة في المسابقة، نظرا للأهمية البالغة التي أولاها الإسلام لصلة الرحم والإحسان للأقارب.
وأكدت /كتارا/ ضرورة التزام المشارك بموضوع القصة، مع ضرورة ألا يقل عدد كلمات قصته عن 1500 كلمة وألا يزيد عن 5 آلاف كلمة، كما يشترط أن تكتب القصة باللغة العربية الفصحى، وبلغة خالية من الأخطاء الإملائية مع مراعاة مواضع علامات الترقيم، ومن ضمن الشروط أيضا ألا تكون القصة قد نشرت في السابق في أي وسيلة من الوسائل الإعلامية، أو حازت على أي جائزة من قبل، بحيث تكون خاصة بالمسابقة فقط.
وأوضحت أن المشاركة متاحة للكتاب من الجنسين دون التقيد بالعمر، على أن يكون للمتسابق الحق في المشاركة بقصة واحدة فقط، وترفق بلمف وورد فقط لا غير، وعلى الكتاب الراغبين في المشاركة أن يرسلوا إنتاجهم القصصي مطبوعا ومشكلا على البريد الإلكتروني story@kataraquran.com .
كما يشترط على المشتركين إرسال صورة شخصية ملونة حديثة لهم، مع بينات أخرى تتضمن الاسم والعنوان ورقم الهاتف والبريد الإلكتروني، ومكان وتاريخ ميلاده، على أنه يحق لدار /كتارا للنشر/ نشر المشاركات الفائزة حيث يعتبر إرسال الكاتب للقصة موافقة نهائية على نشرها في حالة الفوز.
وحدد آخر موعد لاستلام المشاركات 29 رمضان، على أنه من المقرر الإعلان عن نتائج المسابقة في 29 يوليو المقبل. وقد رصدت دار /كتارا للنشر/ للفائزين في هذه المسابقة ثلاث جوائز، حيث سيتحصل الحائز على المركز الأول على جائزة مالية قدرها 15 ألف ريال قطري، في حين سيفوز صاحب المركز الثاني بجائزة قدرها 12 ألف ريال قطري ، فيما سينال صاحب المركز الثالث جائزة مالية قدرها 10 آلاف ريال قطري.
