Doha Film Institute Presents the World Premiere of ‘Ode to Our Land’ on Monday

Doha: Doha Film Institute is celebrating the transformational vision and mission of HH the Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani with a fascinating cinematic tribute that will mark its world premiere on Feb. 19, 2024, with a special invite only event.

‘Ode to Our Land’ is a heartfelt and compelling testimony to HH the Father Amir’s foresight, commitment and inspiring action that built a modern nation dedicated to the prosperity of all its people and the betterment of the Arab world.

The very special cinematic ode to the leader is directed by young Qatari talents Amal Al Muftah and Rawda Al-Thani reflects the remarkable growth of the film industry in Qatar. The poetic essay, produced by the Doha Film Institute for the National Museum of Qatar, chronicles the nation’s transformational growth under the leadership of HH the Father Amir.

Speaking on the film’s significance, HE Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Chairperson, Doha Film Institute and Qatar Museums, noted, “Ode to Our Land is a celebration of the incredible journey Qatar embarked on under HH the Father Amir’s vision, which in turn reinvigorated Arab culture and our collective sense of pride. This film beautifully captures our national identity, the challenges we have overcome, and the pride and cultural resurgence that was inspired by HH the Father Amir’s tireless dedication to our shared futures. We applaud the filmmakers’ success in encapsulating a life as vast and multi-dimensional as that of HH the Father Amir in a fascinating testament to the pivotal moments of our past and offering the world an accurate representation of our nation’s rich history, tradition, and culture.” Ode to Our Land follows the life and times of HH the Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani, from his youth to today’s great metropolis and global centre, which his transformative vision and leadership made possible. The film charts the path from HH the Father Amir’s memories, dreams, and aspirations that shaped his vision of the ambitious and innovative development of a nation to global cultural power through interviews, recollections and the filmmakers’ poetic and very personal experiences of growth. It is a journey of a man of great courage, unfailing persistence, and radical foresight.

الدوحة: تقدم مؤسسة الدوحة للأفلام العرض العالمي الأول لفيلم /إلى أبناء الوطن/ ليكون بمثابة تحية سينمائية لصاحب السمو الأمير الوالد الشيخ حمد بن خليفة آل ثاني، ومسيرة سموه الملهمة، وذلك في عرض خاص سيقام في 19 فبراير الجاري.

ويعتبر فيلم /إلى أبناء الوطن/ ليس مجرد فيلم وثائقي، بل هو شهادة فخر واعتزاز برؤية صاحب السمو الأمير الوالد، والتزام سموه وعمله الملهم الذي أدى إلى بناء وطن حديث ومتقدم يؤمن الازدهار والرفاهية لجميع أبناء الشعب القطري، وتنمية الوطن العربي بشكل عام.

والفيلم الوثائقي الخاص من إخراج اثنتين من المواهب القطرية الواعدة، أمل المفتاح وروضة آل ثاني، في خطوة تعكس النمو الملحوظ لصناعة السينما في قطر.

ويأتي هذا الفيلم بمثابة مقالة شعرية من إنتاج مؤسسة الدوحة للأفلام لصالح متحف قطر الوطني، ليوثق لرحلة التطور والتقدم التي شهدتها البلاد تحت قيادة سمو الأمير الوالد.

وقالت سعادة الشيخة المياسة بنت حمد آل ثاني رئيس مجلس الأمناء لمؤسسة الدوحة للأفلام ومتاحف قطر، في تصريح بالمناسبة، إن “فيلم /إلى أبناء الوطن/ احتفال بالرحلة المذهلة التي بدأتها قطر في ظل قيادة صاحب السمو الأمير الوالد، من خلال عرض هذه السيرة الذاتية الرائعة، ولنشهد كيف أعاد سموه إحياء الثقافة العربية وتعزيز شعورنا الجماعي بالفخر والاعتزاز بها”، مضيفة أن “الفيلم يجسد بشكل جميل هويتنا الوطنية، والتحديات التي تغلبنا عليها، والفخر والنهضة الثقافية المستوحاة من تفاني صاحب السمو الأمير الوالد، وسعي سموه الدؤوب من أجل مستقبلنا المشترك، حتى إنه بمثابة تحية واحتفال بصعود قطر إلى مكانة بارزة على الساحة العالمية والقدرات الإبداعية التي يتمتع بها شعبها”.

من جانبها، قالت السيدة فاطمة حسن الرميحي الرئيس التنفيذي لمؤسسة الدوحة للأفلام، إن فيلم /إلى أبناء الوطن/، مشروع يجسد شغفنا جميعا، ويؤكد على تقديرنا الصادق لدور قيادتنا الرائد في تنمية صناعة السينما المزدهرة في قطر، مشيرة إلى أن هذه الإنجازات الهائلة التي حققها صاحب السمو الأمير الوالد، ساهمت في غرس قوة إبداعية لا يمكن إيقافها، ومهدت الطريق أمامنا لنصبح من المعروفين عالميا في دعم الأصوات العربية في السينما والتلفزيون وكافة أنواع الفنون.

وأشادت السيدة الرميحي بجهود صناع الفيلم في توثيق حياة غنية ومتعددة الأبعاد كالتي يتمتع بها صاحب السمو الأمير الوالد، وتحويلها إلى سجل رائع لأهم لحظاتنا التاريخية يقدم للعالم تمثيلا حقيقيا لتاريخ أمتنا الغني وتقاليدها وثقافتها.

وأعربت مخرجتا الفيلم أمل المفتاح وروضة آل ثاني، عن فخرهما واعتزازهما بالاحتفاء بالعرض الأول لفيلم /إلى أبناء الوطن/، وقالتا “باعتبارنا صانعتي أفلام ولدنا ونشأنا في قطر، فقد استفدنا بشكل مباشر من رؤية صاحب السمو الأمير الوالد، وبينما تابعنا التطور الحضري للدوحة، لمسنا في الوقت نفسه مدى احترام بلادنا لحقوقنا كنساء، واغتنمنا الفرصة للتعلم وتنمية مهاراتنا في أرفع المؤسسات، فتطورنا بالتزامن مع نهضة بلدنا.. ونشيد بمؤسسة الدوحة للأفلام ومتاحف قطر وكذلك المشرفة تالا حديد والمسؤولين الحكوميين والمختصين المبدعين الذين وثقوا بصوتنا لسرد قصة سمو الأمير الوالد وإنجازاته وتفاعلاته مع الأشخاص الذين كانوا جزءا من رحلته لتنمية قطر”.

جدير بالذكر أن الفيلم يتناول حياة ومسيرة صاحب السمو الأمير الوالد الشيخ حمد بن خليفة آل ثاني، ويستعرض مسيرة سموه للنهوض بالبلاد منذ مرحلة شبابه حتى وصل بها إلى العالمية بفضل رؤيته الثاقبة وبصيرته الملهمة.

فمن خلال المقابلات وإعادة تجميع المعلومات والخبرات الشخصية المتنامية للمخرجتين، يخط الفيلم مساره من ذكريات سمو الأمير الوالد وأحلامه وتطلعاته التي شكلت رؤيته في تحقيق التنمية الطموحة والمميزة للوطن ليصبح قوة ثقافية عالمية.
