Over 1.8 million vehicles entered The Pearl-Qatar

United Development Company (UDC), a leading Qatari public shareholding company and master developer of The PearlQatar and Gewan Island, has said that over 1.8 million vehicles entered The Pearl Qatar since the gradual lifting of COVID-19 restrictions beginning of June, marking a 50 percent increase in June compared to last May before the restrictions were lifted.

The figures saw a remarkable increase in the past two weeks as a result of the reopening of beaches, mosques, retail stores and restaurants, with 668,000 vehicles entering the Island in the first two weeks of July, which represents an increase of 17 percent compared to the numbers recorded in the same period last year.

Peak hours were registered between 5 pm and 9 pm. The increase in visitor influx has evidently contributed to an increase in retail activity, as The Pearl-Qatar continues to be a prime destination for entertainment, shopping and dining, with more than 350 retail and F&B outlets currently operating on the Island.

Based on the current figures, it is expected that the number of visitors will continue rising with more restrictions being lifted by next month, including the reopening of parks, playgrounds, nurseries, salons, spas and gyms.

UDC has taken active preventive measures and imposed strict restrictions since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, to ensure the safety of all residents and visitors of The Pearl-Qatar; and continues to do so in light of the State of Qatar’s directives.

 أعلنت الشركة المتحدة للتنمية، المطور الرئيسي لجزيرتيّ اللؤلؤة – قطر وجيوان، عن دخول أكثر من 1.8 مليون مركبة إلى جزيرة اللؤلؤة – قطر منذ الرفع التدريجي للقيود المرتبطة بجائحة كوفيد – 19 في بداية شهر يونيو الماضي، بنسبة ارتفاع 50٪ خلال شهر يونيو مقارنةً بشهر مايو قبل رفع القيود، كما تم تسجيل ارتفاع ملحوظ في الأسبوعين الأخيرين نتيجة إعادة فتح الشواطئ والمساجد والمحلات التجارية والمطاعم مع دخول 668 ألف مركبة في الأسبوعين الأولين من شهر يوليو مما يشكل زيادة بنسبة 17 % مقارنةً بالأعداد المسجلة في نفس الفترة من العام الماضي. وقد تم رصد أوقات الذروة بين الساعة 5 مساءً و9 مساءً، وقد ساهم ازدياد أعداد الزوار في انتعاش الحركة التجارية، حيث تعتبر جزيرة اللؤلؤة – قطر وجهةً رئيسية للترفيه والتسوق وارتياد المطاعم، مع وجود أكثر من 350 منفذا تجاريا نشطا حاليا في الجزيرة من محلات ومطاعم، واستناداً إلى الأعداد الحالية، فمن المتوقع أن يستمر عدد زوار جزيرة اللؤلؤة – قطر في الارتفاع، مع رفع المزيد من القيود بحلول الشهر المقبل بما في ذلك إعادة فتح الحدائق والملاعب وحضانات الأطفال والصالونات والسبا والصالات الرياضية، والجدير بالذكر أن الشركة المتحدة للتنمية كانت قد اتخذت جميع التدابير الوقائية وفرضت قيودا صارمة منذ تفشي وباء كوفيد – 19، لضمان سلامة جميع سكان وزوار جزيرة اللؤلؤة-قطر؛ وما زالت مستمرةً بذلك في ضوء التوجيهات الرسمية للدولة.
