Qatar Participates in “Dragon Group” Meeting
دولة قطر تشارك في اجتماع “مجموعة التنين”

Muscat: The State of Qatar, represented by the Armed Forces, took part in the “Dragon Group” meeting which was held today on board the British aircraft carrier HMS Queen Elizabeth, currently docked off the coast of the Sultanate of Oman.
The State of Qatar was represented at the meeting by HE Chief of Staff of Qatar Armed Forces Lieutenant-General (Pilot) Salem bin Hamad Al Nabit.
Qatar’s participation comes at the invitation of HE British Chief of Defense Staff General Sir Nicholas Carter, who chaired the meeting in the presence of the Chiefs of Staff of the Gulf Cooperation Council, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the Republic of Iraq.
The meeting discussed issues related to the security of the Arab Gulf region and the Middle East, combating terrorism and building military capacities in the region, in addition to attending a show for the F-35 aircraft.
Qatar’s Military Attache to the Sultanate of Oman Brigadier General Ibrahim Khalifa Al Mannai attended the meeting alongside HE the Chief of Staff.

مسقط: شاركت دولة قطر ،ممثلة بالقوات المسلحة، في اجتماع “مجموعة التنين”، الذي عقد يوم أمس على متن حاملة الطائرات البريطانية سفينة صاحبة الجلالة الملكة إليزابيث والمتواجدة حالياً قبالة ساحل سلطنة عمان الشقيقة.
مثل دولة قطر في الاجتماع سعادة الفريق الركن /طيار/ سالم بن حمد النابت رئيس أركان القوات المسلحة.
وتأتي هذه المشاركة تلبيةً لدعوة رئيس أركان الدفاع البريطاني سعادة الفريق أول السير نيكولاس كارتر الذي ترأس الاجتماع بحضور رؤساء الأركان لدول مجلس التعاون الخليجي والمملكة الأردنية الهاشمية وجمهورية العراق.
جرى خلال الاجتماع مناقشة عدد من الموضوعات المتعلقة بأمن منطقة الخليج العربي والشرق الأوسط ومكافحة الإرهاب وبناء القدرات العسكرية في المنطقة، بالإضافة إلى حضور استعراض لطائرة /اف 35/.
حضر الاجتماع مع سعادة رئيس الأركان، العميد الركن إبراهيم خليفة المناعي الملحق العسكري القطري لدى سلطنة عمان.
