Life in The Chinese capital of Beijing is gradually returning to normalcy, while Saudi Arabia has issued warnings to citizens and residents not to travel abroad amid the epidemic instability of the new coronavirus and the Chinese authorities announced that they have been able to contain the new wave of Coronavirus, as many sectors seek to operate under strict preventive measures.
Us billionaire Bill Gates said he was “optimistic” about fighting Covid-19 and called for the distribution of medicines and vaccines to those who need them, not “to those who pay more.” The World Health Organization (WHO) has said that the coronavirus outbreak can still be controlled, although the number of infections has more than doubled in recent weeks. WHO President Tedros Adhanom Gibrisos said the experiences of Italy, Spain, South Korea and India in the fight against the epidemic show that no matter how severe its spread, it remains manageable.
Who’s Emergency Programme Executive Director Dr Mike Ryan said the coronavirus was unlikely to be completely eradicated. Eliminating outbreaks could enable the world to “avoid the worst of a second peak and have to go back on public isolation measures,” he said.

بدأت الحياة في العاصمة الصينية بكين تعود تدريجيا إلى طبيعتها، في حين أطلقت السعودية تحذيرات للمواطنين والمقيمين من السفر للخارج في ظل عدم الاستقرار الوبائي لفيروس كورونا المستجد وكانت السلطات الصينية أعلنت أنها تمكنت من احتواء الموجة الجديدة لفيروس كورونا، حيث تسعى العديد من القطاعات إلى مزاولة أعمالها في ظل الإجراءات الوقائية المشددة.
من جانبه قال الملياردير الأمريكي بيل غيتس إنه “متفائل” بشأن مكافحة كوفيد-19، ودعا إلى توزيع الأدوية واللقاحات لمن هم بحاجة إليها وليس “لمن يدفع أكثر”. من جانبها، أعلنت منظمة الصحة العالمية أنه لا يزال بالإمكان السيطرة على تفشي فيروس كورونا، رغم ازدياد أعداد الإصابات بأكثر من الضعف في الأسابيع الماضية. واعتبر رئيس المنظمة تيدروس أدهانوم غيبريسوس أن تجارب إيطاليا وإسبانيا وكوريا الجنوبية والهند في مكافحة الوباء تثبت أنه مهما كان انتشاره حادا فإنه يظل قابلا لإعادته تحت السيطرة.
وفي المقابل، قال المدير التنفيذي لبرنامج الطوارئ بمنظمة الصحة العالمية الدكتور مايك ريان إنه من غير المرجح القضاء تماما على فيروس كورونا. وقال إن القضاء على بؤر التفشي قد يمكّن العالم “من تجنب الأسوأ وهو وجود ذروة ثانية والاضطرار للعودة إلى الوراء فيما يتعلق بإجراءات العزل العام”.
