Dr. Hamad al-Rumaihi, Director of Health Protection and Transitional Disease Control at the Department of Public Health and Co-Chair of the National Epidemic Preparedness Committee at the Ministry of Public Health, said that with the start of the first phase of the plan to gradually de-restrict the new Coronavirus (Covid-19), the research and investigation team at the Ministry of Public Health has continued intensive efforts to follow up on infections, and to examine contacts to detect new cases early, helping to reduce the number of infections and better understanding of the transmission of the virus in the community, Contacts tracking procedures in traditional ways, along with taking advantage of the application of “EHTERAZ” on smartphones, by using the best different technical solutions have contributed to determining the number of infections early and converting them to receive health care and early treatment to prevent the possible complications suffered by some patients, especially the elderly and those with chronic diseases.
Examples of families
Dr. Al-Rumaihi reviewed a number of examples of families infected by family visits, the first example: the case of a 44-year-old infected person who visited the homes of his relatives, and because of his visits he transmitted the infection to his parents, the elderly, children, and other relatives, with a total of 15 cases.
The other example is the case of a 64-year-old Qatari woman, who, as a result of mixing with her children, transmitted infections to seven houses, where the number of cases reached 27 cases between children and grandchildren, calling in this context the need to be careful and to abide by the procedures of physical distancing, to be careful to wash hands and use sterile materials.
In another question, Dr. Al Rumaihi explained: “Family visits may be a source of transmission among family members, so we recommend postponing family visits, and if there is a need to visit, it is advisable to be individual, with regard to safe distance, and the use of protective masks.”

قال الدكتور حمد الرميحي – مدير حماية الصحة ومكافحة الأمراض الانتقالية بإدارة الصحة العامة، والرئيس المشارك للجنة الوطنية للتأهب للأوبئة في وزارة الصحة العامة – إنه مع انطلاق المرحلة الأولى من خطة رفع القيود التدريجي بسبب جائحة فيروس كورونا المستجد «كوفيد-19»، عمل فريق البحث والتقصي في وزارة الصحة العامة، على مواصلة الجهود المكثفة لمتابعة حالات الإصابة، وفحص المخالطين للكشف عن الحالات الجديدة بصورة مبكرة، ما يساعد على تقليل عدد الإصابات وفهم انتقال الفيروس في المجتمع بصورة أفضل، حيث ساهمت إجراءات تتبع المخالطين بالطرق التقليدية، والاستفادة من تطبيق احتراز على الهواتف الذكية، من خلال استخدام أفضل الحلول التقنية المختلفة في تحديد عدد الإصابات بصورة مبكرة وتحويلهم لتلقي الرعاية الصحية والعلاج المبكر لمنع المضاعفات المحتملة التي يعاني منها بعض المرضى لا سيما كبار السن والمصابين بالأمراض المزمنة.
أمثلة على الأسر
واستعرض الدكتور الرميحي عدداً من الأمثلة لأسر أصيبت بسبب الزيارات العائلية، المثال الأول : لحالة شخص مصاب يبلغ من العمر 44 عاماً، قام بزيارة منازل أقربائه، وبسبب زياراته قام بنقل العدوى لوالديه وهما من كبار السن، ومنه لأطفال، وللأقرباء الآخرين، حيث بلغ مجموع الحالات التي أصيبت بسببه 15 حالة مصابة.
أما المثال الآخر: فهو لحالة سيدة قطرية تبلغ من العمر 64 عاماً، ونتيجة الاختلاط مع أبنائها، قامت بنقل العدوى لسبعة منازل ، حيث بلغ عدد الحالات 27 إصابة بين الأبناء والأحفاد، داعياً في هذا السياق إلى ضرورة توخي الحذر والحرص على الالتزام بإجراءات التباعد الجسدي، والحرص على غسل اليدين واستخدام المواد المعقمة.
وفي سؤال آخر أوضح الدكتور الرميحي قائلاً: «إن الزيارات العائلية لربما تكون مصدراً لانتقال العدوى بين أفراد الأٍسرة، لذا ننصح بتأجيل الزيارات العائلية، وإن كانت هناك ضرورة للزيارة فينصح أن تكون فردية، مع التقيد بالمسافة الآمنة، واستخدام الأقنعة الواقية».
