7 tons of medical aid arrives in Khartoum

QNA – Doha:
A 7-ton shipment of medical aid, provided by the Qatar Charity and professional associations for Sudanese working in the State of Qatar, with a total value of QR2 million, arrived in the Sudanese capital Khartoum.
The shipment was received by HE Sudan’s Minister of Health Dr. Akram Ali Altom, Acting Charge d’Affairs to the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Sudan Talal Farhan Al Anzi, and several officials of the supreme committee for health emergencies.
The assistance included protection tools for doctors and health personnel to tackle the coronavirus (COVID-19).
HE Sudan’s Minister of Health Dr. Akram Ali Altom thanked the State of Qatar’s government, people, and organization for its permanent standing with Sudan, stressing that the relationship between the two countries is historic.
The State of Qatar has always provided technical and material assistance, relief, and support to Sudan, and it is still providing them, he said.
Sudan Humanitarian Aid Commissioner Abbas Fadlallah said that the State of Qatar has always stood with Sudan to confront disasters, the last of which was standing with Sudan during the flood disaster where Qatar established an airlift to help those affected. He thanked the State of Qatar for its permanent standing with Sudan.
Acting Charge d’Affairs to the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Sudan Talal Farhan Al Anzi pointed out that this assistance comes within the framework of the distinguished relations between the two brotherly countries and fraternal ties between the State of Qatar and Sudan. He also affirmed the State of Qatar’s leadership commitment to enhancing those relations in the interest of both countries.

وصلت إلى العاصمة السودانية الخرطوم، أمس، شحنة مساعدات طبية وزنها 7 أطنان مقدمة من جمعية قطر الخيرية، والروابط المهنية للسودانيين العاملين بدولة قطر، بقيمة إجمالية تبلغ مليوني ريال.
وكان في استقبال الشحنة سعادة الدكتور أكرم علي التوم وزير الصحة بجمهورية السودان، والسيد طلال فرحان العنزي القائم بالأعمال بالإنابة بسفارة دولة قطر لدى السودان، وعدد من المسؤولين باللجنة العليا للطوارئ الصحية.
وشملت المساعدات أدوات حماية للأطباء والكوادر الصحية، للتصدي لفيروس كورونا (كوفيد – 19). وشكر سعادة الدكتور أكرم علي التوم، دولة قطر حكومة وشعباً ومنظمات، على وقوفها الدائم مع السودان، وقال إن هذا العون من جانب دولة قطر ليس أول تضامن منها مع السودان، مؤكداً أن العلاقة بين البلدين تاريخية.
وقال: «ظلت دولة قطر تقدم دائماً العون الفني والمادي، والغوث والتناصر للسودان، وما زالت تقدمه».
من جانبه، أكد السيد عباس فضل الله مفوض عام العون الإنساني السوداني، أن دولة قطر تقف دائماً مع السودان لمجابهة الكوارث وآخرها وقوفها مع السودان خلال كارثة السيول والفيضان وتسييرها جسراً جوياً لمساعدة المتضررين.. وتقدم بالشكر لدولة قطر على وقوفها الدائم مع السودان.
وبدوره، أكد السيد طلال فرحان العنزي، أن هذه المساعدات تأتي في إطار العلاقات المتميزة التي تربط بين البلدين الشقيقين، والروابط الأخوية بين دولة قطر والسودان، كما أكد حرص دولة قطر وقيادتها على تعزيز تلك العلاقات لما فيه مصلحة البلدين.
