Ashghal Commences Roads, Infrastructure Project in Mebaireek

Doha: The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) announced the commencement of the Roads and Infrastructure Project in Mebaireek Area at a cost of about 626,315,172.50 million Qatari riyals. That is as part of Ashghal’s plan to provide an integrated infrastructure, an advanced roads network and service facilities throughout the country.

The project is located in Mebaireek, specifically South of Salwa Road, West of Energy Street, and North of Industrial Street 33. It aims to provide an internal road network and an integrated infrastructure that meets the requirements of the population and urban growth in the future.

The developmental work has been divided into 4 areas that are going to be implemented simultaneously, in order to reduce the construction work impacts and any inconveniences that might occur to the residents. Works are scheduled to be fully completed in Q2, 2024.

Abdulla Al Suwaidi, stated that the project serves 1163 citizens’ residential plots in Mebaireek area. It aims to provide an internal road network with a length of about 55 km to enhance traffic flow and provide connectivity with public facilities in the area. In addition to providing traffic safety elements such as street lighting systems and poles, as well as providing road signs. Within the scope of the project, 9 km of shared paths for pedestrians and bicycles will be provided, in addition to providing 7,236 car parks to regulate traffic movement.

Eng. Al Suwaidi added that the infrastructure construction works include a drainage network of about 17 km, a 50 km surface and ground water drainage network and a 28 km treated water network. In addition to the extension of potable water pipes connected to the main network and the protection of power and communications lines.

It is worth mentioning that the implementation of the project works will mainly depend on local materials and contractors. Materials such as gabbro, columns, lighting lamps, road sign, sewage pipes, rainwater drainage, asphalt and prefabricated manholes, in addition to concrete and steel reinforcement will be supplied from local Qatari factories.

It is intended that the local element will reach up to 85% of the project works, which is within Ashghal’s continuous support to local factories and ‘Ta’heel’ initiative launched by Ashghal in 2017.

الدوحة: بدأت هيئة الأشغال العامة /أشغال/ في تنفيذ أعمال مشروع تطوير الطرق والبنية التحتية في منطقة مبيريك بتكلفة تبلغ حوالي 626 مليونا و315 ألف ريال قطري، وذلك في إطار خطتها لتوفير بنية تحتية متكاملة وشبكة طرق متطورة ومرافق للخدمات في جميع أنحاء الدولة.

ويقع المشروع في منطقة جنوب طريق سلوى وغرب شارع الطاقة وشمال شارع الصناعية 33 ليوفر شبكة طرق داخلية وبنية تحتية متكاملة تستجيب لمتطلبات السكان والنمو العمراني في المستقبل.

وقد تم تقسيم أعمال المشروع إلى أربع مناطق يتم العمل بها على التوازي وذلك للحد قدر الإمكان من الآثار الناجمة عن أعمال التنفيذ وتقليل الإزعاج على سكان المنطقة، حيث من المخطط الانتهاء من جميع أعمال المشروع في الربع الثاني من عام 2024.

وأوضح المهندس عبدالله السويدي، مهندس المشروع بقسم مشاريع المناطق الغربية بإدارة مشروعات الطرق في /أشغال/، أن المشروع يخدم 1163 قسيمة لأراضي المواطنين في منطقة مبيريك ويهدف إلى توفير شبكة شوارع داخلية بالمنطقة بطول حوالي 55 كيلومترا لتعزيز انسيابية الحركة المرورية وتوفير الربط مع المرافق العامة بالمنطقة، بالإضافة إلى توفير عناصر السلامة المرورية من أنظمة وأعمدة إنارة للشوارع، إلى جانب توفير اللوحات الإرشادية وعلامات الطريق. كما سيتم ضمن نطاق المشروع، توفير مسارات مشتركة للمشاة والدراجات الهوائية بطول 9 كيلومترات، علاوة على توفير 7236 موقفا مخصصا للسيارات.

وأضاف المهندس السويدي أن أعمال إنشاء البنية التحتية في المشروع تتضمن شبكة صرف صحي بطول حوالي 17 كيلومترا وشبكة صرف للمياه السطحية والجوفية بطول 50 كيلومترا، وشبكة للمياه المعالجة بطول 28 كيلومترا، إلى جانب تمديد أنابيب المياه الصالحة للشرب وربطها بالشبكة الرئيسية لمياه الشرب وحماية خطوط الكهرباء والاتصالات.

جدير بالذكر أن /أشغال/ تعتمد على مواد ومصنعين محليين في تنفيذ أعمال المشروع، حيث سيتم توريد مواد وعناصر مثل الجابرو وأعمدة ومصابيح الإنارة واللوحات الإرشادية وأنابيب الصرف الصحي وتصريف مياه الأمطار والأسفلت والمناهل مسبقة الصنع، بالإضافة إلى الخرسانة وحديد التسليح من المصانع المحلية القطرية.

ومن المستهدف أن تصل نسبة المكون المحلي 85 بالمئة من أعمال المشروع، وذلك في سياق دعم هيئة الأشغال العامة للمصنعين المحليين ومبادرة تأهيل التي أطلقتها عام 2017.
