PHCC taking all required precautions in health centres

The Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) has confirmed that it is taking the utmost care to protect patients and medical personnel from the risks of transmission of the coronavirus (Covid-19).
The Head of Al Thumama Health Center at PHCC Dr Hanadi al-Hail, said in press statements that the PHCC has developed a comprehensive plan for health centre patients that includes the presence of medical staff at the gates to take the pathological history of each patients and measure temperature and separate suspected cases by directing them to emergency department which prevents them from mixing with other patients, as well as organising waiting and reception areas and marking and tips for social distancing to ensure everyone’s safety.
She explained that among the measures, medical consultations were activated remotely over the phone to communicate with patients in most services, such as family and speciality medicine clinics, dentistry, nutrition, psychological and health education, while the health centres continue to receive emergency cases. In addition, medicines are dispensed to patients through home delivery services in co-operation with Qatar Post, especially for the elderly who are more susceptible to the disease, in order to reduce the frequency of visitors to health centres for routine cases in order to preserve their safety and to reduce crowding and infection risks.
As for the precautions taken to protect the medical staff, Dr Hanadi al-Hail pointed out that the medical teams in health centres are constantly wear medical face masks, wash hands and use sanitisers, while ensuring distancing, especially since theyr are considered models for patients.
On quarantine, Dr Hanadi explained that the quarantine is usually applied when an infectious disease spreads, whereby those who are exposed to infection are required to remain at home or in a place designated for quarantine in order to prevent the spread of the disease to others and as an attempt to control disease conditions.
She added that during quarantine, people are followed up in terms of the appearance of any pathological symptoms such as high body temperature and others, while the quarantine period is determined based on the incubation period of the disease.
With regard to tests for Covid-19 virus, Dr Hanadi al-Hail said that the PHCC first assesses cases by a doctor, and in the event that a person is suspected to be infected, a patient’s swab shall be made according to the protocol, where the results appear within 12 to 24 hours from the time of taking the samples, then a specialised team will inform the patient of the result and give the appropriate instructions in both cases, whether the result is negative or positive.
She called on all people, especially patients with chronic diseases, to see the doctor immediately when any sudden symptoms appear to them, as symptoms differ from one person to another, which is high body temperature or inflammation in the upper part of the respiratory system or severe symptoms of acute inflammation that leads to respiratory failure and difficulty breathing, as this depends on the person’s immunity, along with other symptoms such as coughing and loss of appetite.

أكدت مؤسسة الرعاية الصحية أنها تتخذ أقصى درجات الاحتراز لحماية المراجعين والأطقم الطبية، في سبيل حمايتهم من مخاطر انتقال عدوى فيروس كورونا «كوفيد – 19».
وقالت الدكتورة هنادي الهيل مديرة مركز الثمامة الصحي بمؤسسة الرعاية الصحية الأولية، في تصريحات صحافية، إن المؤسسة وضعت خطة شاملة لمراجعي المراكز الصحية تشمل تواجد طاقم طبي عند بوابات دخول هذه المراكز لأخذ التاريخ المرضي لكل مراجع وقياس درجة حرارة الجسم وفصل الحالات المشتبهة، مع توجيهها مباشرة إلى قسم الطوارئ منعاً لاختلاطها بالمراجعين الآخرين، إلى جانب تنظيم أماكن الانتظار والاستقبال ووضع علامات ونصائح للتباعد الشخصي لضمان سلامة الجميع.
وأوضحت أنه من ضمن التدابير أيضاً تم تفعيل الاستشارات الصحية عن بعد عبر الهاتف للتواصل مع المرضى في معظم الخدمات، مثل عيادات طب الأسرة والتخصصية والأسنان والتغذية والنفسية والتثقيف الصحي، بينما تستمر هذه العيادات في استقبال الحالات الطارئة، إلى جانب ذلك يتم صرف الأدوية للمرضى عن طريق خدمة توصيل الأدوية للمنازل بالتعاون مع بريد قطر، وخصوصاً لكبار السن الذين هم أكثر عرضة للإصابة بالمرض، وذلك لتقليل تردد المراجعين على المراكز الصحية للحالات الروتينية حفاظاً على سلامتهم وللحد من التزاحم وانتشار المرض.
أما عن الاحترازات المتخذة لحماية الطاقم الطبي، فلفتت الدكتور هنادي الهيل إلى أن الطواقم الطبية في المراكز الصحية يحرصون بصفة مستمرة على ارتداء كمامات الوجه الطبية وغسل اليدين واستخدام المعقمات دائماً، مع الحرص على التباعد الشخصي بين الأفراد، خاصة أن الطواقم الصحية يعتبرون قدوة لكل المراجعين للمراكز الصحية.
وعن الحجر الصحي أوضحت الدكتورة هنادي أن نظام الحجر الصحي يطبق عادة عند انتشار مرض معدٍ، حيث يطلب من المُعرّضين للإصابة بالعدوى، البقاء في المنزل أو في مكان مخصص للحجر بهدف منع انتشار المرض للآخرين، وكمحاولة للسيطرة على الحالات المرضية.
وأضافت أنه خلال الحجر تتم متابعة الأشخاص من ناحية ظهور أية أعراض مرضية كارتفاع درجة حرارة الجسم وغيرها، بينما يتم تحديد مدة الحجر الصحي بناء على فترة حضانة المرض.
كما لفتت إلى أن الحجر الصحي يختلف عن العزل الصحي، حيث إن العزل يتم تطبيقه على المرضى الذين تم تشخيص إصابتهم بالمرض المعدي، وبالتالي يتم عزلهم صحياً عن باقي الأشخاص الأصحاء.
وفيما يتعلق بالتحاليل الطبية الخاصة للكشف عن فيروس «كوفيد – 19»، أفادت الدكتورة هنادي الهيل أن مؤسسة الرعاية الصحية الأولية تقوم أولاً بتقييم الحالات بواسطة الطبيب، وفي حالة الاشتباه في إصابة شخص يتم عمل مسحة للمريض حسب البروتوكول المعمول به حيث تظهر النتائج خلال 12 إلى 24 ساعة من وقت سحب العينات، ليقوم الفريق المختص بعدها بإبلاغ المريض بالنتيجة وإعطائه الإرشادات المناسبة في كلتا الحالتين، سواء كانت النتيجة سلبية أو إيجابية.
ونصحت مديرة مركز الثمامة الصحي، كبار السن والذين يعانون من مشاكل طبية مسبقة، مثل أمراض القلب والأوعية الدموية، والسكري، وأمراض الجهاز التنفسي المزمنة، والسرطان، بأخذ مزيد من الإجراءات الاحترازية تفادياً لإصابتهم بعدوى الفيروس، حيث تكون الإصابة أكثر شدة لديهم.
ودعت جميع الأشخاص وخاصة المرضى المصابين بالأمراض المزمنة إلى اللجوء إلى الطبيب عند ظهور أية أعراض مفاجئة عليهم وبشكل فوري، حيث تختلف الأعراض من شخص لآخر، وهي تتمثل في ارتفاع درجة حرارة الجسم، أو التهاب في الجزء العلوي بالجهاز التنفسي، أو أعراض شديدة تتمثل في التهاب حاد يؤدي إلى فشل تنفسي وصعوبة في التنفس، حيث يتوقف ذلك على مناعة الشخص ومدى تكاثر الفيروس بداخله، إلى جانب أعراض أخرى مثل الكحة وفقدان الشهية.
