Bats appear in Kuwait.. Environment Public Authority comments

Doha – Al-Sharq:

Environment Public Authority of Kuwait said that it has recently been observed as a result of the conditions the world is going through due to the corona pandemic a marked recovery in the environment and biodiversity where some of the fungal organisms have migrated to cities after nature restored its tranquillity and the clear climate and the reduced human activities and urbanization.

On its Twitter account, the authority said that bats monitored on a house can catch 10 insects per minute, contributing to environmental balance, Al-Qabas reported.

It stated that this type of bat exists in the rock cracks and in abandoned houses and near water, and remains all day hanging in its place asleep, and goes out at night to catch insects and is usually out at sunset and shortly before sunset, and it does not pose a threat to the health and safety of man, so we ask everyone to rediscover nature and know the importance of biodiversity and its positive effects on the world.

قالت الهيئة العامة للبيئة الكويتية إنه لوحظ في الآونه الأخيرة ونتيجة للأوضاع التي يمر بها العالم بسبب جائحة الكورونا تعافي ملحوظ في البيئة والتنوع الاحيائي حيث قامت البعض من الكائنات الحية الفطرية بالنزوح إلى المدن وذلك بعد استعادة الطبيعة لهدوئها وصفاء المناخ والتقليل من النشاطات البشرية والتمدن الحضري.                   

وبينت الهيئة – على حسابها على موقع التواصل الاجتماعي “تويتر” بحسب صحيفة “القبس” –  أن الخفافيش المرصودة على أحد المنازل تستطيع اصطياد 10 حشرات في الدقيقة ما يساهم ذلك على الاتزان البيئي.

وذكرت أن هذا النوع من الخفافيش يتواجد في الشقوق الصخرية وفي المنازل المهجورة وبالقرب من المياه، ويبقى طوال النهار متعلقاً في مكانه نائماً، ويخرج ليلاً لاصطياد الحشرات ويكون عادة خروجه عند الغروب وقبل مغيب الشمس بقليل، وهو لا يشكل خطر على صحه وسلامة الانسان، لذا نرجو من الجميع بإعادة اكتشاف الطبيعة و معرفه مدى أهمية التنوع الإحيائي وآثاره الإيجابيه علي العالم .
