In an interview with Russia’s Channel 5, virologist Anatoly Alstein said that if someone gets infected with Coronavirus by eating contaminated food or water, the disease will be an intestinal infection.
The Russian doctor was talking about the possibility of contracting the virus in the conditions of home quarantine.
According to the expert, although
this possibility is present, the chances of contracting the virus that way is “fairly small”
“You should make sure that the water is clean and if there are doubts about drinking the water of the home water, you should resort to boiling it and then drinking it after cooling it, in addition to washing fruits and vegetables, and conducting heat treatment of products – the usual protection to prevent intestinal infections,” the virologist said.
It is also recommended to wash hands frequently, wipe surfaces, as the spray may reach at least 2 m from other people.

قال اخصائي علم الفيروسات أناتولي ألشتاين ، في مقابلة مع القناة “الخامسة” الروسية ، أنه في حالة الإصابة بفيروس كورونا جراء تناول طعام أو ماء ملوث، فإن المرض سوف يكون كعدوى معوية.
وكان الطبيب الروسي يتحدث عن إمكانية إصابتنا بالفيروس في ظروف الحجر المنزلي.
وفقا للخبير ، فإن هذه الإمكانية رغم وجودها ولكن احتمال حدوثها “صغير إلى حد ما”.
وقال عالِم الفيروسات: “يجب التأكد من نظافة الماء وفي حال وجود شكوك من شرب مياه صنبور الماء المنزلي فيجب اللجوء لغليه ثم شربه بعد تبريده، إضافة لغسل الفواكه ، والخضروات ، وإجراء المعالجة الحرارية للمنتجات – الحماية المعتادة لمنع الالتهابات المعوية”.
كما أوصى بغسل اليدين في كثير من الأحيان، ومسح الأسطح، كون الرذاذ قد يصل إلى بعد 2 م على الأقل من الأشخاص الآخرين.
