Qatar seeks to host 2027 Asian Cup

Al-Raya Sports has learned from its sources that Qatar has applied to host the 2027 Asian Cup for the third time in its history.
Al-Raya Sports sources indicated that Qatar has applied since the opening of the nomination to host the largest tournament in the yellow continent.
Qatar hosted the Asian Cup twice, the first in 1988, and the second in 2011, and Qatar participated more than once in the tournament.
Al-Annabi won the title for the first time in its history in January 2019 in UAE edition.
And the AFC decided to extend the deadline for submitting the initial bids to host the 2027 Asian Cup, due to the novel Coronavirus, which affected the calendar of sporting events around the world.
The Continental Union said in a statement that it extended the deadline for receiving applications for three months until June 30, after the deadline of March 31, explaining that “the decision was taken in the light of the current epidemic (Coved-19) in order to give the member federations, many of which have been affected by the global epidemic, sufficient time to complete their internal operations and schedules.”
The AFC announced at the end of last year that it wanted to grant the right to host the 2027 version early to allow more time to organized. China won the right to host the 2023 edition in June after being the only candidate, after South Korea abandoned the idea of hosting the tournament.

علمت الراية الرياضية من مصادرها أن قطر تقدمت لاستضافة بطولة كأس آسيا 2027 للمرة الثالثة في تاريخها.
وأشارت مصادر الراية الرياضية إلى أن قطر تقدمت بطلبها منذ فتح باب الترشّح لاستضافة البطولة الأكبر في القارة الصفراء.
واستضافت قطر كأس آسيا مرتين الأولى 1988، والثانية في عام 2011 ، كما شاركت قطر أكثر من مرة في البطولة.
ونجح العنابي في تحقيق اللقب للمرة الأولى في تاريخه يناير 2019 بالبطولة التي أقيمت بالإمارات.
و قرر الاتحاد الآسيوي لكرة القدم منذ فترة تمديد مهلة الموعد النهائي للتقدم بالعروض الأولية لاستضافة كأس آسيا 2027، وذلك على خلفية فيروس كورونا المستجد الذي أثر على روزنامة الأحداث الرياضية حول العالم.
وقال الاتحاد القاري في بيان أنه مدد مهلة تلقي الطلبات لثلاثة أشهر حتى 30 يونيو، بعد أن كان الموعد النهائي في 31 مارس، موضحًا «لقد اتخذ القرار في ضوء الوباء الحالي (كوفيد-19) وذلك من أجل منح الاتحادات الأعضاء، التي تأثر الكثير منها بالوباء العالمي، الوقت الكافي لإنجاز عملياتها الداخلية والجداول الزمنية».
وأعلن الاتحاد الآسيوي في نهاية العام الماضي أنه يرغب في منح حق استضافة نسخة 2027 في وقت مبكر إفساحاً بالمجال لمزيد من الوقت من أجل التنظيم.ونالت الصين حق استضافة نسخة 2023 في يونيو الماضي بالإجماع بعد أن كانت المرشحة الوحيدة، إثر تخلّي كوريا الجنوبية عن فكرة الترشح.
