Opening of the longest and deepest two-way tunnel in Qatar

ashghal has opened the longest and deepest two-way tunnel in Qatar as part of Al Rayyan Road Upgrade Project Phase 2, in presence of Manager of Highway Project Dept, Manager of MOI Traffic Safety Depart, and a number of officials and project engineers

The tunnel is 1.5 km long and sits 25 meters below ground level making it the longest and deepest bi-directional tunnel in Qatar. At this initial stage, 2 out of 4 lanes in each direction will be delivered, accommodating 8,000 vehicles per hour in each direction

افتتحت اشغال أطول وأعمق نفق تنائي الاتجاه بقطر بشكل جزئي ضمن أعمال مشروع تطوير طريق الريان – المرحلة الثانية، وذلك بحضور مدير إدارة مشروعات الطرق السريعة ومدير إدارة الهندسة والسلامة المرورية وعدد من مسؤولي الهيئة ومهندسي المشروع يصل الطول الإجمالي للنفق الجديد إلى 1.5 كم ويتألف من أربعة مسارات تستوعب 8000 مركبة في الساعة في كل اتجاه، حيث تم فتح مسارين فقط أمام الحركة المرورية. ويبلغ عمق النفق الجديد نحو 25 متراً تحت سطح الأرض
