Montenegro becomes first corona-free country in Europe

On Monday, Montenegro’s prime minister declared the country coronavirus-free—a move vital for its Adriatic tourism industry. This comes 69 days after it reported its first case and 20 since a new infection, reports Reuters.
In total, Montenegro has so far reported 324 confirmed cases of COVID-19 illness and nine deaths.
Dusko Markovic, the Prime Minister told at a news conference:
“The battle with such a vicious virus has been won and Montenegro now becomes the first coronavirus-free country in Europe.”
Markovic added that Montenegro would open its borders to travellers from countries reporting no more than 25 cases of infection per 100,000 people – these include Croatia, Albania, Slovenia, Germany and Greece.
It is interesting that Montenegro was also the last European country to confirm a COVID-19 case on March 17 as Croatia Week reported.

أعلن السيد دوسكو ماركوفيتش رئيس وزراء الجبل الأسود، أن بلاده أصبحت خالية من فيروس كورونا (كوفيد-19)، وذلك بعد 69 يوما من الإعلان عن أول إصابة.
وقال ماركوفيتش في مؤتمر صحفي “انتصرنا في المعركة مع هذا الفيروس، وأصبحت الجبل الأسود الآن أول دولة خالية من فيروس كورونا في أوروبا”.
وأضاف أن الجبل الأسود ستفتح حدودها أمام المسافرين من الدول التي لا تبلغ عن أكثر من 25 إصابة لكل 100 ألف شخص بما فيها كرواتيا وألبانيا وسلوفينيا وألمانيا واليونان.
وتأكدت 324 حالة إصابة بمرض (كوفيد-19) في الجبل الأسود مع تسجيل تسع وفيات.
