Dental services limited to urgent or emergency care for adults during Covid-19, health authorities reiterate
Dental services are limited to urgent or emergency care only for adults during the Covid-19 outbreak and all routine appointments are cancelled, the health authorities have reminded.
This is in compliance with the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH)’s directive to reduce the risk of Covid-19 infection spread.
A decision in this regard was announced last month, with the authorities reiterating it through an infographic on the social media pages of the MoPH, Hamad Medical Corporation and Primary Health Care Corporation yesterday.
To be seen at the clinic, one must have one or more of these conditions:
* Severe toothache pain (not just a twinge)
* Swelling of gums, face or neck
* Bleeding in the mouth that does not stop
* Infection or a substantial risk of it
* Trauma (such as a broken tooth)
“If your condition fits any of the above, please call 16000 to arrange to be seen by a dentist,” the infographic notes.
“If you feel sick before coming to the clinic (if you have symptoms of respiratory illness such as fever, cough, shortness of breath and a sore throat), you must call the Covid-19 hotline, 16000, first for advice on how to proceed,” it adds.

قررت مؤسسة حمد الطبية إلغاء جميع المواعيد الاعتيادية لخدمات الأسنان وذلك لفترة مؤقتة، حيث ستقتصر الخدمات المقدمة للمرضى على الحالات الطارئة والعاجلة من البالغين.
وأوضحت المؤسسة أن هذا القرار جاء وفقاً لتعليمات وزارة الصحة العامة باتخاذ الإجراءات اللازمة للحد من انتشار العدوى بفيروس كورونا كوفيد 19.
وأوصحت المؤسسة أنه للحصول على خدمات الرعاية العاجلة والطارئة في العيادات فإنه يجب أن تتوفر لدى المريض واحدة أو أكثر من الحالات التالية: ألم حاد في الأسنان لا يمكن تحمله، أو وجود تورم باللثة أو الوجه أو الرقبة، أو وجود رضوض الأسنان مثل حدوث كسر فى السن أو الإصابة بالتهاب فى الأسنان أو الاشتباه بذلك أو وجود نزيف مستمر في الفم.
ودعت من يعاني من واحدة أو أكثر من هذه الحالات الاتصال على الرقم 16000 لتنسيق موعد مع طبيب الأسنان.
