EHTERAZ app does not violate privacy: IT experts

IT experts have confirmed that “EHTERAZ” app does not violate privacy and aims to protect the community and maintain its integrity and reduce the spread of the Corona epidemic through the use of digital technology to identify the chains of infection in the community by directly linking to health data users through the database of the Ministry of Health.

They said in statements to al-Raya: The application is based on 100% reliable data in the process of tracking the chains of infection between the users of the application, and everyone should download it on their mobile phones for their own benefit and the benefit of their families and society as a whole, especially that it is an official application subject to the laws and legislation of the state, stressing that the application ensures the preservation of the privacy of the users and not to violate it, noting that the application’s request to allow it to access the geographical location, memory and files is due only to one reason, which is to put Bluetooth profiles in the internal memory and then upload them to the application servers and this is understandable and normal and (ios system does the same) but the difference is in the message and the notification and the difference between one android version and another.

Reliable Data

Mohammed al-Kuwari, an IT expert, said that “EHTERAZ” application aims to identify the chains of infection in the community by directly linking to health data users through the database of the Ministry of Health and therefore the application is based on 100% reliable data in the process of tracking the chains of infection among the users of the application and this is very important. He continued: As for privacy, “EHTERAZ” application does not collect any user-specific information and does not use any case tracking information for any other purposes because the application is subject to the regulations, legislation and laws of the state in this regard referred to in the application and the text of the privacy policy will be included in the application soon.

Al-Kuwari continues: As for the application request to allow it access to memory, files and geographical location, the only reason is to put Bluetooth profiles in the internal memory and then upload them to the application servers and this is understandable and natural (ios system does the same) but the difference is in the message and the notification and the difference between one Android version and another.

Chains of Infection

Khalid al-Ammari, an IT expert, said: “The application has a lot of specifications and privileges that help stakeholders identify, track and monitor the chains of infection in the community, which is why it needs access to the geographical location.

He stressed that the application does not violate privacy at all, because it practically does not track images and contacts or enters the speakers but only tracks the geographical location and transmission chains and tracking the location is present in all applications related to health worldwide whether sports applications or bicycles and the same for social media that determine the places of people in the scope of your geographical location to add them to the list of friends, which are basically entities we do not trust in the first place, but this is a clear and known government application, its goal is to ensure the well-being and safety of the community, stressing that privacy remains user-specific because it is an official application developed by the state, and therefore guarantees the full privacy of users.

The Singaporean Experience

Mohammed Al-Jeffery, an expert in the field of scientific research and information technology, said: Regarding the breaches of privacy reported by some people, I have contacted the Ministry of Interior to inquire About “EHTERAZ” application and was answered by an official of the High Committee for Crisis Management, who explained to us that Unfortunately the application on «Android» which is the operating system for Samsung is different from the «IOS» system which runs iPhone where we found that sometimes the transmission is interrupted on «Android» and we want to make sure that the users who use this system go to safe places and we want to make sure that it is all recorded by place and time exactly so that we have a precaution for the future so that if we discover then that the user contacted one of the infected we alert him/her and warn him/her and then examine him/her to protect him/her and protect his/her family and therefore the application came in favor of the community and no fear of anything at all because it guarantees the privacy policy of the users.

He adds: I entered the Singaporean experience and found that they use the same procedure not under the same name “EHTERAZ” but with another name and found good results and this is one of the latest ideas of science and technology now and there is no other better way to protect yourself from infection.

أكد خبراء في تكنولوجيا المعلومات أن تطبيق «احتراز» لا يخترق الخصوصية وهدفه حماية المُجتمع والحفاظ على سلامته والحدّ من انتشار وباء كورونا عبر استخدام التكنولوجيا الرقميّة للتعرّف على سلاسل العدوى في المُجتمع وذلك من خلال الربط المُباشر ببيانات المُستخدمين الصحيّة من خلال قاعدة بيانات وزارة الصحة. وقال هؤلاء في تصريحات ل الراية : التطبيق يرتكز على بيانات موثوقة بنسبة 100% في عملية تتبع سلاسل العدوى بين مُستخدمي التطبيق، وعلى الجميع تنزيله على جوالاتهم لصالحهم وصالح أسرهم والمجتمع ككل، خاصة أنه تطبيق رسمي يخضع لقوانين وتشريعات الدولة، مشدّدين على أن التطبيق يضمن الحفاظ على خصوصية المُستخدمين وعدم اختراقها، لافتين إلى أن طلب التطبيق بالسماح له بالوصول للموقع الجغرافي والذاكرة والملفات يعود فقط إلى سبب واحد وهو وضع ملفات البلوتوث التعريفيّة في الذاكرة الداخليّة ومن ثم رفعها لخوادم التطبيق وهذا أمر مفهوم وطبيعي و(نظام IOS يقوم بالمثل) ولكن الفارق في الرسالة والتنبيه والاختلاف بين نسخة أندرويد وأخرى.

بيانات موثوقة

أكد محمد الكواري، خبير في مجال تكنولوجيا المعلومات، أن تطبيق «احتراز» هدفه التعرّف على سلاسل العدوى في المجتمع وذلك عبر ربط مباشر ببيانات المستخدمين الصحيّة من خلال قاعدة بيانات وزارة الصحة وبالتالي التطبيق يرتكز على بيانات موثوقة 100% في عملية تتبع سلاسل العدوى بين مستخدمي التطبيق وهذا أمر هام جداً. وتابع: أما بالنسبة للخصوصية فلا يقوم تطبيق احتراز بجمع أي معلومات خاصة بالمستخدم ولا تستخدم أي من معلومات تتبع الحالات لأي أغراض أخرى لأن التطبيق يخضع للوائح وتشريعات وقوانين الدولة في هذا الصدد والمشار لها في التطبيق كما سيتم تضمين نص سياسة الخصوصية بالكامل في التطبيق قريباً.

ويواصل الكواري: أما فيما يخصّ طلب التطبيق السماح له بالوصول للذاكرة والملفات والموقع الجغرافي فالسبب فقط هو وضع ملفات البلوتوث التعريفيّة في الذاكرة الداخليّة ومن ثم رفعها لخوادم التطبيق وهذا أمر مفهوم وطبيعي (نظام IOS يقوم بالمثل) ولكن الفارق في الرسالة والتنبيه ويفرق من نسخة أندرويد لأخرى.

سلاسل العدوى

من جهته قال خالد العماري، خبير في تكنولوجيا المعلومات: التطبيق فيه الكثير من المواصفات والامتيازات التي تساعد الجهات المعنيّة على التعرّف على سلاسل العدوى في المُجتمع وتتبعها ورصدها ولهذا السبب فهو يحتاج الدخول إلى الموقع الجغرافي.

وأكد أن التطبيق لا يخترق الخصوصية على الإطلاق، لأنه عملياً لا يتتبع الصور وجهات الاتصال أو يدخل على السماعات ولكنه فقط يتتبع الموقع الجغرافي وسلاسل الانتقال وتتبع الموقع موجود في جميع التطبيقات التي لها علاقة بالصحة على مستوى العالم سواء تطبيقات ممارسة الرياضة أو الدراجات الهوائيّة ونفس الأمر بالنسبة لوسائل التواصل التي تحدّد لك أماكن الأشخاص المتواجدين في نطاق موقعك الجغرافي لإضافتهم في قائمة الأصدقاء وهي جهات بالأساس لا نثق بها بالدرجة الأولى، ولكن هذا تطبيق حكومي واضح ومعروف مصدره وهدفه هو مصلحة المُجتمع والحفاظ على سلامته، مشدداً على أن الخصوصية تظل خاصة بالمستخدم لأنه تطبيق رسمي وضعته الدولة، ولذلك هو يضمن الخصوصية بالكامل للمُستخدمين.

التجربة السنغافورية

إلى ذلك قال محمد الجفيري، خبير في مجال البحث العلمي وتكنولوجيا المعلومات: بخصوص ما أبداه البعض من اختراق الخصوصية فقد تواصلت مع وزارة الداخلية للاستفسار عن تطبيق «احتراز» وتمّ الردّ من قِبل أحد المسؤولين باللجنة العُليا لإدارة الأزمات والذي أوضح لنا أنه للأسف التطبيق الموجود على «الأندرويد» وهو نظام تشغيل السامسونج يختلف عن نظام ال «IOS» الخاص بتشغيل الآيفون حيث وجدنا أنه أحياناً ينقطع الإرسال على «الأندرويد» ونحن نريد التأكّد من أن المُستخدمين الذين يستخدمون هذا النظام يذهبون إلى أماكن آمنة ويتم تسجيل أين ذلك بالضبط وبالتاريخ حتى يكون لدينا احتراز للمستقبل بحيث إذا ما اكتشفنا بعد ذلك أنه خالط أحد المُصابين نقوم بتنبيهه وتحذيره ومن ثم فحصه لحمايته وحماية أسرته وبالتالي التطبيق جاء لصالح المُجتمع ولا خوف من أي شيء علي الإطلاق لأنه يضمن سياسة الخصوصية للمُستخدمين.

ويضيف: قمت بالدخول على التجربة السنغافورية ووجدت أنهم يستخدمون نفس الإجراء ليس تحت نفس اسم «احتراز» ولكن بمسمى آخر وأتى بنتائج جيّدة وهذا هو الذي وصل له العلم الآن ولا توجد طريقة أخرى أفضل من ذلك لحماية نفسك من الإصابة بالفيروس.
