Ashghal launches infrastructure, road project in West Semaisma
أشغال تطلق مشروع تطوير الطرق والبنية التحتية غرب سميسمة

The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) has announced the commencement of the Roads and Infrastructure Project in West Semaisma (Package 1) which aims to develop internal streets in the area and improve local traffic safety as well as upgrade infrastructure facilities to respond to residents’ needs and urban growth in the future.
The project is located east of Al Khor Road in Semaisma area, and is bordered by Semaisma West Street to the East and by Semaisma Road to the South. The implementation of upgrading works are divided into three geographical zones which will be carried out successively, and the duration of each phase will be one year while full completion of the project is scheduled for Q2, 2023.
Engr. Hamad Al Badr, Project Engineer in the Roads Projects Department at Ashghal, stated that the project offers services for 539 residential plots in West of Semaisma through the provision of upgraded infrastructure services and enhanced local streets to improve the traffic flow and provide connectivity to future public facilities that will be established in the area, such as schools, mosques, commercial complexes and youth centres.
Engr. Al Badr added: “The project’s scope of works involves developing a road network with a total length of 20.5 km equipped with road safety features and street lighting as well as road signs and marks.
The project also features a 14.5 km pedestrian and cycle track.
Furthermore, the project scope includes a 19-km-long foul sewer network, 36 km of surface and groundwater drainage network, and 7 km of Treated Sewerage Effluent (TSE) network. In addition, new sewage pipelines will be provided and connected with Qatar’s main sewage network. Construction works will also include an emergency flood area with a total capacity of 263,000 m3 to provide proper protection for the entire area against flooding and excess rainfall.
The Roads and Infrastructure in West Semaisma is being implemented by Iris Construction, at a cost of approximately QR304.8m and is part of the New Subdivisions Program which is carried out by the Public Works Authority and includes a number of development projects across Qatar.

أعلنت هيئة الأشغال العامة «أشغال»، بدء تنفيذ أعمال مشروع تطوير الطرق والبنية التحتية غرب سميسمة «الحزمة الأولى»، الذي يهدف إلى تطوير الشوارع الداخلية بالمنطقة، ورفع مستوى السلامة عليها، بالإضافة إلى تطوير مرافق البنية التحتية لتستجيب لمتطلبات السكان والنمو العمراني في المستقبل.
يقع المشروع شرق طريق الخور في منطقة سميسمة، ويحدّه شرقاً شارع سميسمة الغربي، وجنوباً طريق سميسمة، وقد تم تقسيم أعمال المشروع إلى ثلاث مناطق جغرافية، يتم العمل بها على التوالي، ويستغرق تنفيذ كل مرحلة عاماً واحداً، حيث إنه من المخطط أن يتم الانتهاء من تنفيذ كل أعمال المشروع في الربع الثاني من عام 2023م.
وصرّح المهندس حمد البدر، مهندس المشروع بإدارة مشروعات الطرق في «أشغال»، بأن المشروع يخدم 539 قسيمة لأراضي المواطنين في منطقة غرب سميسمة، وذلك من خلال توفير خدمات متطورة للبنية التحتية، وطرق وشوارع داخلية من شأنها تعزيز انسيابية الحركة المرورية، وتوفير الربط مع المرافق العامة التي سيتم إنشاؤها بالمنطقة مستقبلاً، مثل المدراس والمساجد والمجمعات التجارية ومراكز الشباب.
وأضاف المهندس البدر، أنه سيتم من خلال المشروع تطوير وإنشاء شبكة طرق بطول 20.5 كيلو متر، مع توفير عناصر السلامة المرورية من أنظمة وأعمدة إنارة للشوارع، ولوحات إرشادية وعلامات الطريق، كما سيتم توفير مسارات للمشاة والدراجات الهوائية بطول 14.5 كيلو متر.
يتضمن نطاق المشروع أيضاً إنشاء شبكة صرف صحي بطول 19 كيلو متراً، وشبكة صرف للمياه السطحية والجوفية بطول 36 كيلو متراً، وشبكة للمياه المعالجة بطول 7 كيلو مترات، وتمديد أنابيب الصرف الجديدة وربطها بشبكة الصرف الصحي الرئيسية، فضلاً عن إنشاء بحيرة لتخزين مياه الأمطار لأغراض الطوارئ، بسعة 263,000 متر مكعب، بهدف وقاية كامل المنطقة من فيضان المياه خلال موسم الأمطار.
يقوم بتنفيذ هذا المشروع شركة ايريس للإنشاءات، بتكلفة تبلغ حوالي 304 ملايين و854 ألف ريال، ويُعد أحد مشاريع برنامج تطوير البنية التحتية للمناطق، الذي تنفذه هيئة الأشغال العامة، ويضم عدداً من المشاريع التطويرية الموزعة على مناطق البلاد كافة.
