Qatar Museums sanitises its buildings and parks

Qatar Museums, in cooperation with the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME), has organised a campaign to sanitise and disinfect its museums and parks, as part of precautionary and preventive measures to counter the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19).
Sanitisation, spraying and disinfection work is targeting buildings, internal streets, parking areas, parks and playgrounds at the National Museum of Qatar, the Museum of Islamic Art, and the Fire Station: Artist in Residence.
Commenting on the initiative, the CEO of Qatar Museums Ahmad Al Namla, said: “Thanks to the support and in cooperation with the Ministry of Municipality and Environment, the sanitisation campaign of our museums has been achieved in line with the preventive measures taken by the state to control the spreading of this emerging virus.”
“As we are facing this unprecedented situation, it is paramount to help stop the spread of coronavirus and ensure the health and safety of our society. So while our museums remain closed, QM has taken steps to give access to our galleries, collections and programs through digital platforms, in order to continue to fulfill our critical mission, virtually, of providing places for respite, education and inspiration.”

نظمت متاحف قطر حملة لتطهير وتعقيم متاحفها وحدائقها، وذلك ضمن الإجراءات الاحترازية والوقائية لمواجهة فيروس كورونا المستجد (كوفيد- 19) ومنع انتشاره، بالتعاون مع وزارة البلدية والبيئة.
وقد شملت أعمال التطهير والرش والتعقيم المباني والشوارع الداخلية ومواقف السيارات والحدائق والملاعب في كل من متحف قطر الوطني ومتحف الفن الإسلامي ومطافئ: مقر الفنانين.
وفي هذا الإطار قال السيد أحمد النملة، الرئيس التنفيذي لمتاحف قطر: “تأتي حملة التعقيم والتطهير التي قامت بها متاحف قطر، بدعم مشكور من وزارة البلدية والبيئة وبالتعاون مع الوزارة، تماشيًا مع الإجراءات التي اتخذتها الدولة لمواجهة هذا الفيروس”.
وأضاف: “نظرًا لأننا نواجه هذا الوضع غير المسبوق، فمن الأهمية بمكان المساعدة على وقف انتشار فيروس كورونا وضمان صحة وسلامة مجتمعنا، وبينما تظل متاحفنا مغلقة، اتخذت متاحف قطر خطوات عملية لإتاحة الوصول إلى معارضنا ومجموعاتنا وبرامجنا من خلال المنصات الرقمية، من أجل الاستمرار في تحقيق مهمتنا الحاسمة، في توفير سُبل للراحة ومساحات للتعليم والإلهام”.
