QCCA: More than 7,000 Flights in First Week of World Cup

Doha: The Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA) announced that the first week of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 recorded more than 7,000 flights, noting that the air traffic at both Hamad and Doha International Airports witnessed a significant increase since the kickoff of the tournament.
In a statement, the QCAA said that many Gulf carriers began to operate shuttle flights to the State of Qatar. In addition, airlines from Arab countries and the rest of the world enhance their services to Doha to provide integrated air transport for tournament fans.
The QACC affirmed that several international airlines, including German Lufthansa, Air France, Finnair, and KLM, in addition to airlines from South America and Africa, have commenced operating regular and charter flights to the State of Qatar, which has led to a noticeable operational intensity between the State of Qatar and the rest of the world.
The statement indicated that the development of air transport in the State of Qatar continues with the activation of the Doha Flight Information Region (FIR), which increased capacity and air routes arriving to and departing from Qatar to achieve more streamlined air movements and a greater guarantee of safety.

الدوحة: أعلنت الهيئة العامة للطيران المدني، أن الأسبوع الأول من بطولة كأس العالم FIFA قطر 2022، سجل أكثر من 7000 رحلة جوية، لافتة إلى أن الحركة الجوية في مطاري حمد والدوحة الدوليين شهدت زيادة كبيرة منذ انطلاق البطولة.
وأفادت الهيئة، في بيان لها، أن العديد من شركات الطيران الخليجية قامت بتسيير رحلات مكوكية إلى دولة قطر، هذا بالإضافة إلى العديد من الرحلات الإضافية من باقي الدول العربية ودول العالم، وذلك لتوفير نقل جوي متكامل لمشجعي البطولة.
وأكدت الهيئة أن العديد من شركات الطيران العالمية، ومنها اللوفتهانزا الألمانية، والخطوط الجوية الفرنسية، والخطوط الفنلندية، والخطوط الملكية الهولندية، بالإضافة إلى شركات طيران من أمريكا الجنوبية، وأفريقيا، قد باشرت بتسيير رحلات نظامية وعارضة إلى دولة قطر، ما أدى إلى كثافة تشغيلية عالية بين دولة قطر وباقي دول العالم.
ولفت البيان إلى أن تطور النقل الجوي في دولة قطر مستمر، مع تفعيل إقليم الدوحة معلومات الطيران (FIR)، وزيادة الطاقة الاستيعابية والمسارات الجوية القادمة والمغادرة إلى دولة قطر، بهدف تحقيق انسيابية أكثر في الحركة، وضمان أكبر للسلامة.
