GCO launches Coronavirus Information Service on WhatsApp
مكتب الاتصال الحكومي يطلق خدمة لتوفير المعلومات حول فيروس كورونا عبر تطبيق واتساب
Today the Government Communications Office for the State of Qatar launched a Coronavirus Information Service on WhatsApp. The new service, which is free-to-use, provides a central source of accurate, trustworthy and up-to-date information about Coronavirus (COVID-19).
The Coronavirus Information Service is an automated “chatbot” service that allows citizens and residents in Qatar to get answers to the most common questions about Coronavirus from the Ministry of Public Health and the GCO 24 hours a day in six languages: Arabic, English, Urdu, Hindi, Nepali, and Malayalam. The service will provide information on topics such as Coronavirus prevention and symptoms, the latest number of cases, advice on staying at home, travel advice and mythbusting.

Sheikh Thamer bin Hamad Al-Thani, Deputy Director of the Government Communications Office for Media Affairs, commented: “Maintaining the safety of citizens and residents in the State of Qatar is our top priority. To ensure that the public is kept informed during the crisis we have developed a user-friendly service to give people instant access the most current information on the virus. This includes the latest statistics from the Ministry of Public Health and vital informationabout how people can protect themselves and others.Our aimis to raise public awareness in our community.”
Matt Idema, WhatsApp’s Chief Operating Officer, commented: “At difficult times like these, people use WhatsApp more than ever to connect with and support their friends, family and communities. We are pleased to be able to provide the State of Qatar with the communications tools to help them respond to citizens’ questions about the virus with reliable, timely health advice, in order to keep people safe.”
The Coronavirus Information Service has been built on the WhatsApp Business API over Infobip’s global communication platform to provide timely and critical information to the population about the virus. For more advanced queries, the chatbot can also direct users to online resources.
أطلق مكتب الاتصال الحكومي اليوم خدمة لتوفير المعلومات عن فيروس كورونا (كوفيد-19) عبر تطبيق واتساب، وتعد هذه الخدمة المجانية الجديدة مصدراً رئيسياً لتوفير معلومات دقيقة وموثوقة حول الفيروس.
ويتمثل عمل هذه الخدمة في محادثة آلية تتيح للمواطنين والمقيمين في دولة قطر الحصول على أجوبة عن الأسئلة الأكثر شيوعاً حول فيروس كورونا، وذلك على مدار الساعة وبست لغات هي: العربية، والإنجليزية، والأردية، والهندية، والنيبالية، والماليالامية، إضافة إلى توفير معلومات عن طرق الوقاية من فيروس كورونا وأعراضه، وآخر المستجدات حول إجمالي عدد الحالات، وارشادات حول السفر وتصحيح المعلومات المغلوطة.
وقال الشيخ ثامر بن حمد آل ثاني، مساعد مدير مكتب الاتصال الحكومي للشؤون الإعلامية: “أن الحفاظ على سلامة المواطنين والمقيمين في دولة قطر يتصدر أولوياتنا، فقد قمنا بتطوير خدمة سهلة الاستخدام لتوفير أحدث المعلومات حول فيروس كورونا وبصورة فورية”.
وأضاف “تتضمن الخدمة آخر الإحصائيات الصادرة عن وزارة الصحة العامة، بالإضافة إلى معلومات هامة حول طرق الوقاية من فيروس كورونا لضمان صحة وسلامة الجميع، حيث نسعى من خلال هذه المنصة إلى تعزيز الوعي بين كافة أفراد المجتمع في ظل هذه الأزمة الصحية.”
ومن جانبه، قال السيد مات إيديما، الرئيس التنفيذي للعمليات في شركة واتساب: “في أوقات صعبة كهذه، يستخدم الجميع تطبيق واتساب أكثر من أي وقت مضى للتواصل مع عائلاتهم وأصدقائهم ومجتمعاتهم، ويسعدنا التعاون مع مكتب الاتصال الحكومي لتوفير أدوات اتصال تسهم في الإجابة عن تساؤلات كافة أفراد المجتمع في دولة قطر حول الفيروس، وتقديم معلومات وإرشادات صحية موثوقة للحفاظ على سلامتهم.”
وقد تم إعداد هذه الخدمة على واجهة إيه بي آي (API) الخاصة بتطبيق واتساب للأعمال ودمجها مع منصة (Infobip) العالمية للاتصالات، وذلك لتوفير معلومات هامة حول الفيروس بشكل فوري. أما فيما يتعلق بالاستفسارات، بإمكان هذه الخدمة توجيه المستخدمين إلى المصادر الإلكترونية ذات الصلة.
ويمكن الاشتراك في هذه الخدمة المجانية عبر إضافة الرقم 97460060601+ إلى قائمة جهات الاتصال على هاتفك، ومن ثم إرسال رسالة نصية إلى هذا الرقم عبر تطبيق واتساب بأي لغة من اللغات المذكورة أعلاه لتفعيلها. كما يمكن تفعيل الخدمة من خلال هذا الرابط.
