Doha: Qatar Museums is currently presenting the second part of A Sneak Peek at Qatar Auto Museum Project, sponsored by Seashore Group, at Al Zubarah Fort. The exhibition is on view from Oct. 24, 2022, until Dec. 19, 2023.

Qatar Museums opened the Sneak Peek at Qatar Auto Museum Project exhibition in March 2022 at the National Museum of Qatar (NMoQ), displaying three spectacular cars and introducing the concept design of the future museum, designed by Office for Metropolitan Architecture (OMA) led by international architect and Pritzker Prize winner Rem Koolhaas.

The second part of A Sneak Peek at Qatar Auto Museum expands beyond the National Museum gallery to showcase the community and participatory component of the future museum. This exhibition highlights the car as a common thread between diverse nations and a unifying vehicle of cultures. It offers visitors a unique opportunity to experience and learn about Qatar’s car culture, private museums, automotive collectors, motorsport clubs and national champions.

Ahmad Musa Al Namla, CEO of Qatar Museums, said: “Qatar Auto Museum is grateful to Seashore Group for their generous support of the A Sneak Peek at Qatar Auto Museum Project exhibition, which is a great step towards building Qatar Museums’ legacy and gives a strong voice to the nation’s car enthusiasts.” The display at Al Zubarah Fort includes three unique cars: a Volkswagen Race Touareg 3, developed to participate in the 2011 Dakar Rally, which Qatari Rally driver Nasser bin Saleh Al Attiyah drove during the race when he was crowned Dakar Rally champion for the first time. The vehicle is presented with the support of the Volkswagen Group.

The second car is the Ford Bronco XLT (4th generation), once driven by Qatari rally driver Saeed Al Hajiri, one of the founding figures to popularise motorsports in Qatar and the Arab world. The car is loaned by the courtesy of Mr. Salem Saeed Al Mohannadi. The third car is a BMW M2 CS Racing, provided by the courtesy of Mr. Omar Al Fardan from the Letbelah collection.

It is with great pleasure that we support Qatar Museums so once again the people of Qatar can see the winning Volkswagen Race Touareg, now on display in Qatar.” Seashore Group CEO Salem Saeed Al Mohannadi said: “By supporting the exhibition, Seashore Group seeks to promote a culture of sustainability using recycled materials, creating an opportunity for the aesthetics of creativity without harming the environment.” To encourage visitors to explore Qatar’s heritage sites, Qatar Museums and Seashore Group will also present a similar display of other unique vehicles at Msheireb Downtown Doha and Barzan Towers heritage site in Umm Salal Mohammed, between Nov. 14, 2022, and Dec. 20, 2022. The display at Msheireb will be developed in collaboration with Sealine Sports Club (Mawater) and Audi Qatar.

الدوحة: افتتحت متاحف قطر الجزء الثاني من معرض /نظرة على مشروع متحف قطر للسيارات/ الذي يقام برعاية مجموعة شاطئ البحر أمام قلعة الزبارة ويستمر إلى التاسع عشر ديسمبر المقبل.

وكانت متاحف قطر قد قدمت الجزء الأول من المعرض في شهر مارس الماضي في متحف قطر الوطني.

وتضمن المعرض ثلاث سيارات مميزة، كما استعرض التصميم النظري لهذا المشروع الذي أنجزه مكتب متروبوليتان للهندسة المعمارية (أوه إم إيه) بقيادة المهندس المعماري الحائز على جائزة بريتزكر للهندسة المعمارية، ريم كولهاس.

يركز الجزء الثاني من معرض /نظرة على مشروع متحف قطر للسيارات/ على أحد أهم جوانب مشروع المتحف وهو الجانب المجتمعي-التشاركي، كما يحتفي بثقافة السيارات الثرية والمميزة في قطر عبر عرض سيارات سباق استثنائية في مواقع تراثية.

يلقي هذا المعرض الضوء على السيارة باعتبارها قاسما مشتركا يربط بين مختلف الشعوب ويوحد الثقافات، كما يمنح الزوار فرصة فريدة للتعرف على ثقافة السيارات في قطر والمتاحف الخاصة وعلى جامعي السيارات ونوادي السيارات الرياضية وأهم أبطال رياضة السيارات القطريين.

وأشاد أحمد موسى النملة الرئيس التنفيذي لمتاحف قطر في تصريح اليوم، بالدعم الذي تقدمه مجموعة شاطئ البحر في معرض /نظرة على مشروع متحف قطر للسيارات/، الأمر الذي عده خطوة كبيرة في بناء إرث متاحف قطر وإسماع صوت مجتمع عشاق السيارات في قطر.

بدورها، أشادت الدكتورة حصة سلطان الجابر، رئيس متحف قطر للسيارات بكل من مجموعة شاطئ البحر على رعاية الجزء الثاني من هذا المعرض وعلى إنجاز العرض الخاص بالسيارات من مواد قديمة تم إعادة توظيفها بشكل مميز يعكس رؤية مشروع المتحف ويعزز ثقافة الاستدامة. معربة عن تطلعها لمزيد من علاقات التعاون التي تعزز ثقافة الابتكار والإبداع والحوار والمشاركة.

من جهته، أوضح سالم سعيد المهندي الرئيس التنفيذي لمجموعة شاطئ البحر، إن المجموعة من خلال دعم المعرض، تسعى إلى تعزيز ثقافة الاستدامة باستخدام المواد المعاد تدويرها، مما يخلق فرصة إبراز جماليات الإبداع دون الإضرار بالبيئة.

ويشمل العرض المقام أمام قلعة الزبارة ثلاث سيارات مميزة. الأولى هي سيارة فولكس فاجن طوارق خاصة بالسباقات (الجيل الثالث) التي تم تطويرها للمشاركة في رالي داكار الدولي عام 2011 والذي توج فيه ناصر بن صالح العطية سائق الراليات القطري، بطلا لرالي داكار للمرة الأولى. وتقدم السيارة في المعرض بدعم من مجموعة فولكس فاجن.

أما السيارة الثانية فهي فورد برونكو إكس إل تي (الجيل الرابع)، وكان يقودها في السابق سعيد الهاجري سائق الرالي القطري، وأحد مؤسسي رياضة السيارات في قطر والعالم العربي. والسيارة معارة للمعرض من مقتنيات السيد سالم سعيد المهندي. أما السيارة الثالثة فهي سيارة بي إم دبليو إم 2 سي إس الرياضية وهي معارة للمعرض من مجموعة متحف لطبيلة الخاصة بالسيد عمر حسين الفردان.

وتشجيعا للزوار على استكشاف المواقع التراثية في قطر، ستقدم متاحف قطر ومجموعة شاطئ البحر أيضا عرضا مشابها لسيارات استثنائية أخرى في موقع أبراج برزان التراثي في ??أم صلال محمد، في الفترة ما بين 14 نوفمبر الجاري و20 ديسمبر 2022 وفي مشيرب قلب الدوحة خلال نفس الفترة بالتعاون مع نادي سيلين الرياضي (مواتر) وشركة أودي قطر.
