Education Above All Foundation, UNICEF Mark Ten Years of Partnership

New York: A special exhibition took place alongside the 78th United Nations General Assembly, celebrating the ten-year partnership between Education Above All Foundation (EAA) and UNICEF.

In a statement, the EAA stated that this partnership has achieved a major transformation in the lives of more than five million children and youth in 17 countries, through its “Educate a Child” program, as well as achieving global progress towards realizing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, especially Goal 4, which relates to inclusive and equitable quality education for all.

Called A Decade of Dreams, the exhibition features installations of photos and videos of children and youth sharing their personal journeys. The images vividly illustrate the transformative support provided by UNICEF and EAA Foundation in helping these children reach their potential and realize their dreams.

EAA CEO Fahad Al Sulaiti said: “EAA and UNICEF have worked together in diverse countries, enabling vulnerable children, whether fleeing conflict or stricken by poverty, to learn and thereby take up a path to a brighter future. Those children raise their communities through the power of education, which brings greater prosperity, better health, and the ability to overcome challenges.” “Education is an entryway to meet the many needs of children, especially when they are facing multiple deprivations. نيويورك: احتفت مؤسسة “التعليم فوق الجميع” ومنظمة الأمم المتحدة للطفولة “اليونيسف”، بمرور 10 سنوات على شراكتهما معا، وذلك عبر إقامة معرض “عقد من الأحلام”، على هامش أعمال الدورة الثامنة والسبعين للجمعية العامة للأمم المتحدة، في نيويورك.

وذكرت مؤسسة التعليم فوق الجميع، في بيان، أن هذه الشراكة حققت تحولا كبيرا في حياة أكثر من خمسة ملايين طفل وشاب في 17 دولة، وذلك من خلال برنامج “علم طفلا” التابع للمؤسسة، فضلا عن تحقيق تقدم عالمي نحو تحقيق أهداف الأمم المتحدة للتنمية المستدامة، خصوصا الهدف الرابع الذي يتعلق بالتعليم الجيد والشامل للجميع.

ويعكس معرض “عقد من الأحلام” إنجازات هذه الشراكة، عبر عرض مجموعة من الصور ومقاطع الفيديو لقصص وتحديات الأطفال والشباب، إلى جانب توضيح الدعم التحويلي الذي تقدمه منظمة اليونيسف ومؤسسة التعليم فوق الجميع في مساعدة هؤلاء الأطفال على تحقيق كامل إمكاناتهم والوصول إلى أحلامهم.

وفي هذا الإطار، قال السيد فهد السليطي، الرئيس التنفيذي لمؤسسة التعليم فوق الجميع: “إن مؤسسة التعليم فوق الجميع ومنظمة اليونيسف قد عملا معا في بلدان مختلفة لتمكين الأطفال المستضعفين، سواء كانوا يعيشون في مناطق نزاعات أو يعانون من الفقر، حيث تمكن هؤلاء الأطفال من الوصول إلى فرص التعلم وبناء مستقبل أكثر إشراقا”.

وأضاف أن تعليم هؤلاء الأطفال يلعب دورا كبيرا في تحسين مجتمعاتهم، حيث يسهم في زيادة الرفاهية والازدهار وتعزيز الصحة، ويمكنهم من التغلب على التحديات التي تواجههم.

من جانبه، أكد السيد عمر عبدي نائب المدير التنفيذي للبرامج في منظمة اليونيسف، أن التعليم يعد مدخلا لتلبية الاحتياجات العديدة للأطفال، خاصة عندما يواجهون العديد من أشكال الحرمان، فلا يمكن للأطفال أن يتعلموا عندما يشعرون بالجوع، أو عندما يشعرون بانعدام الأمان أو مع الصدمات النفسية.

وأشار إلى أنه من خلال الجهود المشتركة، ستواصل كلا من منظمة اليونيسف ومؤسسة التعليم فوق الجميع، مواجهة التحديات التي يعيشها ملايين الأطفال، من خلال دعم التعليم الجيد، وتوفير الخدمات الضرورية لرحلة التعلم.
