Ministry provides ‘distance learning’ for students with disabilities

The Ministry of Education and Higher Education said that it had taken into account the comprehensiveness of education for all students in the distance learning process, including students with disabilities of all classes, in order to ensure the progress of the educational process by providing special education services to ensure their access to them.

In this regard, the Ministry added that educational videos in sign language had been produced for students with hearing disabilities, which is downloaded daily to the application/Microsoft Teams/under the supervision of their teachers and sign language specialists, noting the great response and interaction of students and their parents, and said that these lessons are broadcast daily on Qatar educational channels to ensure that students have access to them.

The quality of the videos produced for general education students was also taken into consideration in terms of clarity of voice and instructions to ensure that students with visual impairments can have access and obtain them daily through the application / Microsoft Teams / and follow up with them through teachers first-hand and answer their inquiries.

It mentioned that it was also taken into consideration that students of the 3rd level of support (students with intellectual disabilities and those with autism accompanying other disorders) have their right to education by providing lessons registered daily through their teachers, based on their individual plans with the inclusion of training and skills that the student is required to accomplish under the supervision of  guardian, where significant cooperation and interaction has been monitored from students with the help and support of their parents, who have been keen on reaching their children for lessons and accomplishing the daily duties required of them in the form of training and skills, applied by student in the presence of  guardian  to ensure that student keeps the skills and information that were worked on in the school and not to forget them.

The Ministry pointed out that educational materials were provided to students with disabilities according to the level and type of disability, and the educational material includes educational activities, videos, and guidance for parents. 

أكدت وزارة التعليم والتعليم العالي أنها راعت شمولية التعليم لجميع الطلاب في عملية التعلم عن بُعد، بمن فيهم الطلبة من ذوي الإعاقة بجميع فئاتهم، حرصاً على سير العملية التعليمية عبر توفير خدمات التربية الخاصة، بما يضمن وصولها لهم.

وأضافت الوزارة أنه جرى العمل على إنتاج فيديوهات تعليمية بلغة الإشارة للطلبة ذوي الإعاقة السمعية، يتم تنزيلها يومياً على تطبيق (Microsoft Teams)، تحت إشراف معلميهم واختصاصيي لغة الإشارة، لافتة إلى أنه كان هناك تجاوب وتفاعل كبير من جانب الطلاب وأولياء أمورهم، ويتم بث هذه الدروس يومياً على القنوات التعليمية القطرية، حرصاً على وصول الطلبة إليها.

وأشارت الوزارة إلى مراعاة جوده الفيديوهات المنتجة لطلبه التعليم العام، من حيث وضوح الصوت والإرشادات، لضمان وصول الطلبة من ذوي الإعاقة البصرية، وحصولهم عليها يومياً عن طريق تطبيق (Microsoft Teams)، والمتابعة معهم من خلال المعلمين أولاً بأول، والإجابة عن استفساراتهم، وأكدت مراعاة حصول طلبة المستوى الثالث من الدعم (الطلبة ذوي الإعاقة الذهنية وذوي اضطراب التوحد المصاحب لاضطرابات أخرى) على حقهم في التعليم، من خلال توفير دروس مسجلة يومياً من خلال معلميهم، بناءً على خططهم الفردية، مع تضمينها التدريبات والمهارات المطلوب من الطالب إنجازها تحت إشراف ولي الأمر.

منوهة بالتعاون والتفاعل كبير من الطلبة بمساعدة ودعم أولياء أمورهم، الذين حرصوا على وصول أبنائهم للدروس وإنجاز الواجبات اليومية المطلوبة منهم على شكل تدريبات ومهارات يطبقها الطالب.

وأكدت الوزارة توفير المواد التعليمية للطلاب ذوي الإعاقة، بحسب مستوى الإعاقة ونوعها، وتتضمن المادة التعليمية على الأنشطة والفيديوهات التعليمية، والإرشادات اللازمة لأولياء الأمور.
