Qatar well-equipped to host ideal and most accessible World Cup: CAF President
رئيس الاتحاد الإفريقي: قطر مؤهلة لتنظيم نسخة مثالية من المونديال
Doha: Qatar is well-equipped to stage a successful and ideal World Cup when it hosts the finals in 2022 thanks to its abilities and capacities, Confederation of African Football (CAF) President Ahmad Ahmad said.
The Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani met on Wednesday at his office at Al Bahr Palace with CAF President on the occasion of his visit to the country. HH Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al-Thani, personal representative of HH the Amir, attended the meeting.
Speaking during an interview with Al Kass Channel, Ahmad expressed his deep admiration of the exclusiveness of football in Qatar, evident in the proximity of the hosting venues of the Qatar World Cup, which, he added, will be the most accessible tournament edition as it allows fans to attend more than one game in the same day.
The CAF president said Qatar is a developed country and its people are open to all fields, notably football, adding that this will greatly make the finals succeed, especially from the organizational side.
Ahmad said he has no doubt that Qatar World Cup will be successful and excellent in light of the full Qatari commitment to organize the global showpiece. He added that he reviewed the phases of preparations and the under-construction facilities.
The African football chief hailed the substantial development that he saw at Aspire Academy, which he had visited seven years ago. He said that each country needs a similar institute for the sake of developing the game domestically and continentally.
Ahmad praised Qatar Football Association’s (QFA) commitment to the partnership with CAF and working constantly to develop it to greater levels, pointing out that Qatar is always a leader and proactive in serving football.
He also said that Qatar’s participation in the 2019 Copa America is good for the national team’s preparations for the 2022 World Cup as Qatar would take on heavyweight national teams and have the unique chance of participating in a major tournament.

وأبدى أحمد ، في مقابلة مع برنامج “ضيفا” على قنوات الكأس الرياضية القطرية، انبهاره الشديد بخصوصية كرة القدم في قطر التي تتجلى في قرب المسافات بين الملاعب التي ستستضيف مباريات مونديال الدوحة، الذي ستكون البطولة الأكثر تقاربا للمسافات في التاريخ ما يسمح للمشجعين بمتابعة أكثر من مباراة في نفس اليوم.
واعتبر رئيس الاتحاد الإفريقي أن قطر بلد متطور وشعبه منفتح في المجالات كافة ، وفي مقدمتها كرة القدم، الأمر الذي سيساهم بصورة كبيرة في إنجاح نهائيات مونديال الدوحة خاصة من الجانب التنظيمي.
وأوضح أنه ليس لديه أدنى شك في خروج مونديال الدوحة بصورة ناجحة ومميزة في ظل الإلتزام القطري الكامل بتنظيم الحدث العالمي الكبير، لافتا إلى انه اطلع على المراحل التي بلغتها التحضيرات للمونديال، فضلا عن ما هو قيد الإنشاء.
وأشاد رئيس الاتحاد الإفريقي لكرة القدم بالتطور الكبير الذي شهده في اكاديمية التوفق الرياضي “اسباير” والذي سبق أن زارها قبل حوالي سبع سنوات، معتبرا أن كل دولة تحتاج إلى مثل هذا الصرح الرياضي من أجل تطوير اللعبة سواء داخل البلد أو حتى على مستوى القارة.
وثمن أحمد الالتزام من جانب الاتحاد القطري لكرة القدم بالشراكة مع الاتحاد الإفريقي والعمل دائما على الرقي بها إلى مستويات أكبر ، لافتا إلى أن قطر دائمة سباقة ومبادرة بكل ما يخدم كرة القدم.
ورأي رئيس الاتحاد الإفريقي أن مشاركة منتخب قطر في كأس أمريكا الجنوبية أمرا جيدا، خاصة من أجل تحضير المنتخب لمونديال 2022 ، حيث سيتسنى لقطر مواجهة منتخبات من الوزن الثقيل، والمشاركة في بطولة كبرى وهو أمر لا يحدث كل يوم.
