‘From The Old Days:’ National Museum of Qatar offers to display private collections
متحف قطر الوطني يدعو جامعي المقتنيات الفنية إلى المشاركة في «مال لوَّل»
Doha: The National Museum of Qatar is inviting collectors to showcase their private collections at the Mal Lawal 3 exhibition, under the patronage of Qatar Museums’ Chairperson, HE Sheikha Al Mayassa Bint Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani, the highly anticipated exhibition is set to take place in the last quarter of 2020 at NMoQ.
Mal Lawal, meaning “from the old days,” is an exhibition that showcases collections owned by private collectors from Qatar. Items presented in the exhibition can include manuscripts, weapons, Islamic collections, maps, coins, ethnographic and heritage items, jewelry, clothing, accessories and even cars.
Mal Lawal 3 is the only event of its kind in the region and acts as a platform that brings together private collectors, helping support and further establish the practice of collecting in Qatar. The collections that will be showcased in 2020 will present the personal stories of the collectors and highlight their passion for art, culture and heritage.
Interested collectors are asked to submit a portfolio by the end of January 2020 which includes short description of the selected objects, object images and dimensions and record of authenticity.
“Mal Lawal is an opportunity for private collectors to play a key role in developing Qatars cultural sector,” Associate Curator at NMoQ, Tania Al Majid said. “We encourage anyone who is passionate about collecting to submit their portfolio and share their passion with the wider community, providing inspiration to aspiring collectors through the stories of their pieces,” Al Majid added.
“The National Museum of Qatar is dedicated to bringing together local communities and supporting artistic practices in Qatar. Projects such as Mal Lawal are a testament to the Museums commitment to support collecting practices” Al Majid explained.
دعا متحف قطر الوطني جامعي ومقتني المقتنيات لعرض مجموعتهم التراثية والأثرية والمقتنيات المتميزة والنادرة في النسخة الثالثة من معرض «مال لوَّل»، والذي يُقام تحت رعاية سعادة الشيخة المياسة بنت حمد آل ثاني، رئيسة مجلس أمناء متاحف قطر، في الربع الأخير من عام 2020 بمتحف قطر الوطني.
و»مال لوَّل» هو تعبير باللهجة القطرية بمعنى «الزمن الماضي»، وهو معرض لهواة جمع المقتنيات والتحف في دولة قطر. وتتنوع المقتنيات التي يضمها المعرض بين المخطوطات والأسلحة والخرائط والعملات والقطع الإسلامية والإثنوجرافية والتراثية والتحف والمجوهرات والملابس والإكسسوارات والسيارات.
ويُعد معرض «مال لوَّل 3» معرضاً فريداً من نوعه في المنطقة، حيث يعتبر ملتقى لجامعي ومقتني المقتنيات، ويساهم في تعزيز هذه الهواية. وستروي المقتنيات التي سيضمها المعرض في نسخته للعام 2020 قصص أصحابها وتعكس شغفهم بالفنون والثقافة والتراث.
وحول هذا المعرض قالت السيدة تانيا الماجد – نائب أمين متحف، بمتحف قطر الوطني: «يتيح معرض «مال لوَّل» فرصة للمهتمين بجمع المقتنيات للمساهمة في تعزيز القطاع الثقافي في قطر، وندعو كل من يهوى جمع المقتنيات إلى أن يقدم لنا ملفه الشخصي ليشارك شغفه واهتمامه بهذه الهواية مع جمهور واسع، ولكي يُلهم غيره من هواة جمع المقتنيات الواعدين من خلال القصص التي ترويها مقتنياته».
وأضافت: «يوفر متحف قطر الوطني ساحة لالتقاء أفراد المجتمع المحلي ويدعم الهوايات الفنية في قطر، ويعد معرض «مال لوَّل» شهادة على التزام المتحف بدعم هواية جمع المقتنيات».
ويتضمن طلب المشاركة وصفاً مختصراً للمقتنيات المختارة وصورة لكل قطعة وتوضيح أبعادها. وتقديم ما يفيد بأصالة القطعة.
