UDC organises The Pearl-Qatar’s seabed clean-up campaign
المتحدة للتنمية تنظم حملة لتنظيف قاع البحر في «اللؤلؤة-قطر»
Professional divers, volunteers, visitors and residents of The Pearl-Qatar gathered yesterday for the launch of the “The Pearl-Qatar Environment Awareness Day” – Marina Seabed Cleaning Campaign.
The event, which coincided with World Cleanup Day, National Cleanup Day, and World Water Monitoring Day, was launched by UDC in collaboration with Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) and other partners.
The event kicked off with the deployment of the marina seabed cleaning teams and was followed by the launch of UDC’s community environment and recycling awareness initiative. It also featured family-oriented activities to promote eco-friendly practices in line with UDC’s commitment to raising environmental awareness.
This event is part of UDC’s multifaceted waste management and recycling strategy and environmental initiatives.
Through these initiatives, UDC aims to preserve The Pearl-Qatar’s biodiversity and marine environment.
اجتمع غواصون محترفون ومتطوعون وزوّار وسكّان اللؤلؤة-قطر، للمشاركة في فعاليات «يوم التوعية البيئية بجزيرة اللؤلؤة-قطر»- حملة تنظيف قاع البحر في المارينا، أمس السبت. وتزامن هذا الحدث مع اليوم العالمي للنظافة، واليوم الوطني للنظافة، واليوم العالمي لمراقبة المياه، وبالتعاون مع الهلال الأحمر القطري وشركاء آخرين.
انطلقت الفعالية مع انتشار فرق الغواصين لتنظيف قاع المارينا، وأعقبها إطلاق مبادرة الشركة المتحدة للتنمية للتوعية البيئية المجتمعية، وإعادة التدوير. كما تضمّنت أنشطة موجّهة للأسرة لتعزيز الممارسات الصديقة للبيئة؛ تماشياً مع التزام الشركة المتحدة للتنمية لرفع الوعي البيئي. ويُعدّ هذا الحدث جزءاً من استراتيجية الشركة المتحدة للتنمية في إدارة النفايات وإعادة التدوير والمبادرات البيئية، التي تسعى الشركة المتحدة للتنمية من خلالها إلى الحفاظ على البيئة البحرية والتنوع البيولوجي الذي تتمتع به جزيرة اللؤلؤة-قطر.
