FM participates in NAM virtual summit

QNA – Doha:

HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani participated in the virtual summit of heads of state and government of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), which was held yesterday through videoconference, under the motto “United against Covid-19”.

The summit focused on the importance of international solidarity in combating Covid-19 disease and co-operation in providing the necessary medical equipment, as well as promoting multilateralism for stability and economic and social development after the pandemic.

The summit also focused on establishing a task force charged with ensuring the establishment of a common database that reflects the basic medical, social and humanitarian needs of the Movement’s countries in combating the pandemic, and publishing related information on an official website to communicate with international humanitarian and charitable organisations, international companies and other parties supporting social projects.
