A new schedule for Gulf Cup after confirming participation of Saudi Arabia, UAE and Bahrain

Doha: Arab Gulf Cup Football Federation today announced the participation of Saudi Arabia, UAE and Bahrain in the Gulf Cup to be held in Doha.

The tournament is scheduled to run from November 26 to December 8 and new venues will be decided later along with the schedule. The teams will be split into two groups.

This came after the Executive Office of the Arab Gulf Cup Football Federation approved the requests of the three federations, which were submitted in the last two days.

“The Arab Gulf Cup Football Federation appreciates the response of the federations to the invitation to participate, which was presented as a last attempt to reunite the brothers under the umbrella of the tournament, which has always been one of the successful means of strengthening the bonds of brotherhood and love among the peoples of the region,” a press statement from the federation said..

Under the current circumstances of the region, the federation has confirmed its ability to “overcome various challenges and obstacles and to keep the Gulf Cup tournament always emphasize that our Gulf is one.”

This now means that all eight nations have been confirmed for the Gulf tournament – Saudi Arabia, UAE & Bahrain will join Iraq, Kuwait, Oman, Yemen, and hosts Qatar at the tournament.

Qatar national team, which has won three titles, is aiming to win its second title in 2019, after winning the Asian Cup for the first time in its history earlier this year.

جاء ذلك خلال مؤتمر صحفي عقد اليوم للإعلان عن آخر التطورات والترتيبات الجديدة بخصوص /خليجي 24/ بالدوحة، بحضور جاسم الشكيلي نائب رئيس اتحاد كأس الخليج العربي والسيد جاسم الرميحي الأمين العام للاتحاد.

وثمن اتحاد كأس الخليج العربي تجاوب اتحادات الدول المذكورة مع دعوة المشاركة التي تم تقديمها كمحاولة أخيرة للم شمل الأصدقاء تحت مظلة البطولة التي كانت دوما إحدى الوسائل الناجحة لتعزيز أواصر الإخاء والمحبة بين شعوب المنطقة، والتي أكدت في ظل الظروف التي تمر بها المنطقة قدرتها على تجاوز التحديات والعوائق المختلفة ولتبقى بطولة كأس الخليج تأكيدا دائما على أن خليجنا واحد.

ومع هذه المتغيرات تعود البطولة لنظام المجموعتين، حيث سيتم في الساعات القليلة القادمة وضع جدول جديد للبطولة التي ستنطلق خلال الفترة من 26 نوفمبر إلى 8 ديسمبر المقبل.
