Sheikha Moza participates in WISENY Education Forum

New York: H H Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, Chairperson of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development (QF), attended the WISENY education forum in New York yesterday, which was organised by the World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE), a member of QF.
During the opening plenary session, Her Highness was joined by the UN Deputy Secretary-General, Amina Mohammed, H E Sheikh Meshal bin Hamad Al Thani, Qatar’s Ambassador to the United States of America, and Sheikha Alya bint Ahmed bin Saif Al Thani, the Permanent Representative of Qatar to the United Nations.
Her Highness then toured and participated in various workshops and learning labs, exchanging ideas with leading experts on how to use innovation to tackle rising education challenges, like refugee learning and unequal education access among others.
Held under the theme Learning Revolutions: Creating Educational Environments for Empowerment and Inclusion, WISENY gave over 350 educators, experts and thought leaders from around the world a platform to share their opinions and solutions, as well as network to democratise the global education conversation.
WISENY was the first event kicking off the 2018 Global Goals Week, a series of events focused on driving progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), during the opening of the 73rd session of the United Nations General Assembly and under the auspices of the UN Foundation.
حضرت صاحبة السمو الشيخة موزا بنت ناصر رئيس مجلس إدارة مؤسسة قطر للتربية والعلوم وتنمية المجتمع، اليوم بمدينة نيويورك، فعاليات منتدى وايز نيويورك الذي ينظمه مؤتمر القمة العالمي للابتكار في التعليم وايز، عضو مؤسسة قطر.
كما حضر المنتدى سعادة السيدة أمينة محمد نائب الأمين للأمم المتحدة، وسعادة الشيخ مشعل بن حمد آل ثاني سفير دولة قطر لدى الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية، وسعادة الشيخة علياء
أحمد بن سيف آل ثاني المندوب الدائم لدولة قطر لدى الأمم المتحدة.
وشاركت سموها في عدد من الورش والمختبرات التعليمية، حيث تبادلت الأفكار مع المختصين حول كيفية استخدام الابتكارات المتقدمة في التصدي للتحديات التي يواجهها التعليم، من تعليم اللاجئين إلى عدم المساواة في فرص التعليم وغيرها.
وتحت شعار “ثورة التعلم: إرساء بيئات تعليمية غايتها التمكين والإدماج”، يجمع وايز 350 مشاركا من المبتكرين وخبراء التعليم وقادة الفكر لتبادل الرؤى والأفكار والتركيز على مستقبل التعليم عالميا.
وينعقد المنتدى في إطار أسبوع الأهداف العالمية للأمم المتحدة، وهي سلسلة من الفعاليات التي يجري تنظيمها على هامش الاجتماعات السنوية للجمعية العامة للأمم المتحدة، بهدف تحقيق سريع لبلوغ أهداف التنمية المستدامة.
