Doha: Qatar Museums is set to host a public art talk, as part of its ongoing efforts to connect members of the community with inspiring works of art.
Renowned artists Lubna Chowdhary, Susan Hefuna and Shirazeh Houshiary will come together at the National Museum of Qatar on Wednesday, to explore their artistic practice and discuss the potential of art in the public realm.
Moderated by Laura Barlow, Senior Curator at Qatar Museums, the talk will offer attendees an invaluable glimpse into the contexts that have shaped these artists’ works to date.
The discussion will be introduced by Abdulrahman Al Ishaq, Head of public art and programmed as part of the ongoing series ‘public art Talks’, organized by the public art department at QM.
In anticipation of the event, Abdulrahman Al Ishaq, Head of public art, stated, “We are pleased to host a talk that brings together three strong female artists who have marked the art world with their thought-provoking creations. These dialogues help foster an environment of creativity and exchange, helping inspire the next generation of cultural producers in Qatar.”
Organized by QM’s public art department, additional talks with various renowned artists are set to take place in Qatar between November and December.

أعلنت متاحف قطر اليوم، عن تنظيم جلسة نقاشية حول موضوع الفن العام مساء بعد غد الأربعاء بمتحف قطر الوطني، وذلك في إطار جهود متاحف قطر المستمرة لزيادة وعي الجمهور بأهمية الفن العام.
وتستضيف الجلسة النقاشية كلا من الفنانة لبنى شودري، والفنانة سوزان هافونا، والفنانة شيرازه هوشاري، فيما تدير أطوارها، لورا بارلو، أمين معارض أول بمتاحف قطر.
ومن المرتقب أن تلقي الجلسة الضوء على تأثير الفن العام وأهميته من خلال استعراض الأساليب الفنية التي تتبعها الفنانات المشاركات والسياقات التي تحدد ملامح أعمالهن.
وفي هذا الصدد، سيقوم السيد عبدالرحمن آل إسحاق، رئيس قسم الفن العام في متاحف قطر، بتقديم ضيوف الجلسة النقاشية التي تأتي ضمن سلسلة “جلسات الفن العام” التي ينظمها قسم الفن العام في متاحف قطر.
وأوضح السيد عبدالرحمن آل إسحاق ،في تصريح له، أن تنظيم هذه الجلسة بمشاركة ثلاث فنانات مرموقات، يأتي نظرا لما تركنه من بصمات واضحة في عالم الفن من خلال أعمالهن الفنية التي تحفز العقل وتثير التساؤلات، مشيرا إلى أن هذه النوعية من الجلسات، تسهم في تعزيز بيئة الإبداع وتبادل الرؤى الفنية، فضلا عن دورها في إلهام الجيل المقبل من صناع الثقافة في قطر.
كما سينظم قسم الفن العام في متاحف قطر عدة جلسات أخرى مع فنانين مختلفين خلال شهري نوفمبر وديسمبر المقبلين.
