PM exempts producing factories from paying rent this year

Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani issued a decision to exempt producing factories in the SME zone and Mesaieed Industrial Zone of Manateq from paying rent for the year 2019.
The decision is based on the recommendations of the Ministerial Group for the Encouragement and Participation of the Private Sector to encourage and increase its contribution to the economic development of the country, and it is within a wide range of incentives granted to this sector.
This decision complements the previous decisions taken by H E the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior to support investors in the industrial and logistics sector, such as allowing factories in the country to postpone the repayment of loans for six months as well as granting all investors in the economic zones of Manateq a reduction in the rental value from QR40 to QR20 per square metre.
In a statement yesterday, Minister of Commerce and Industry H E Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari said that such decisions are a strong boost for investment and seek to overcome obstacles facing investors in the industrial sector. It is also in the public interest to keep pace with the current investment trend in Qatar, he added.
أصدر معالي الشيخ عبدالله بن ناصر بن خليفة آل ثاني رئيس مجلس الوزراء ووزير الداخلية قراراً بإعفاء المصانع المنتجة في منطقة الصناعات الصغيرة والمتوسطة ومنطقة مسيعيد الصناعية التابعة لشركة مناطق من القيمة الإيجارية للعام الحالي 2019 وذلك بناءً على التوصيات التي قدمتها المجموعة الوزارية لدعم وتحفيز القطاع الخاص لتشجيعه وزيادة مساهمته في التنمية الاقتصادية في الدولة، وذلك ضمن مجموعة واسعة من الحوافز التشجيعية لهذا القطاع.
ويأتي هذا القرار استكمالاً لقرارات معالي رئيس مجلس الوزراء ووزير الداخلية السابقة لدعم المستثمرين في القطاع الصناعي واللوجستي مثل تأجيل سداد القروض للمصانع في الدولة لستة أشهر وتخفيض القيمة الإيجارية من 40 إلى 20 ريالا للمتر المربع لجميع المستثمرين في المناطق اللوجستية التابعة لشركة المناطق الاقتصادية.
وأكد سعادة السيد علي بن أحمد الكواري وزير التجارة والصناعة في تصريح له اليوم، أن مثل هذه القرارات تعتبر دفعة قوية للاستثمار وتأتي لتذليل العوائق للمستثمرين في قطاع الصناعة، ويأتي هذا القرار للمصلحة العامة ليتواكب مع الفكر الاستثماري الراهن في دولة قطر.
