Partial Closure on Wadi Al Askar & Wadi Zekreet Streets
إغلاق جزئي على شارعي وادي العسكر ووادي زكريت
The Public Works Authority ‘Ashghal’ announces that it will implement a partial closure on one direction of Wadi Al Askar Street, from its intersection with the street known as Wadi Leawaina Street to its intersection with Wadi Al Ebb Street. This is in addition to the partial closure on one direction of Wadi Zekreet Street, from its intersection with Wadi Al Ebb Street to its intersection with Wadi Leawaina Street. The closure starts on Friday 18 October 2019 and will last for a period of 8 months, in coordination with the General Directorate of Traffic.
During this period, users of the street known as Wadi Leawaina Street heading north towards Wadi Al Askar Street, will have to continue straight, turn right into Wadi Zekreet Street, then to the required destination. Traffic coming from Al Kheesa on Wadi Leawaina Street and heading to Wadi Al Askar Street will have to use the traffic signal at the intersection between Wadi Al Askar/Wadi Leawaina streets, and take a u-turn back to Wadi Zekreet Street to reach their destination.
Those coming from Al Kheesa on Wadi Al Ebb Street and heading to Wadi Zekreet Street will have to continue straight then turn right into Wadi Al Askar Street to reach their destinations.
The partial closure is part of the Roads and Infrastructure Development Project in Al Ebb and Leabib – Package 3, and aims to upgrade and enhance traffic safety on Wadi Al Askar and Wadi Zekreet streets. The project also includes developing the local roads and implementing pedestrian lanes, installing new traffic lights, in addition to upgrading the stormwater, sewage, potable water, and irrigation networks.
The Public Works Authority will install road signs advising motorists of the temporary closure and requests all road users to abide by the existing speed limit and follow the road signs to ensure their safety.
تعلن هيئة الأشغال العامة “أشغال” عن تنفيذ إغلاق جزئي لاتجاه واحد من شارع وادي العسكر من تقاطعه مع الشارع المعروف بشارع وادي لعوينة وحتى تقاطعه مع شارع وادي العب، بالإضافة إلى تنفيذ إغلاق جزئي لاتجاه واحد من شارع وادي زكريت وذلك من تقاطعه مع شارع وادي العب إلى تقاطعه مع شارع وادي لعوينة، وذلك اعتباراً من يوم الجمعة الموافق 18 أكتوبر 2019 ولمدة 8 أشهر، وبالتنسيق مع الإدارة العامة للمرور.
وخلال هذه الفترة، يمكن لمستخدمي الشارع المعروف بوادي لعوينة المتجهين شمالاً نحو شارع وادي العسكر مواصلة السير والانعطاف يميناً نحو شارع وادي زكريت ومنه إلى الوجهة المطلوبة. أما القادمين من الخيسة على شارع وادي لعوينة والمتجهين نحو شارع وادي العسكر فيتوجب عليهم استخدام الإشارة الضوئية عند تقاطع شارعي وادي العسكر/وادي لعوينة للالتفاف والعودة ثم استخدام شارع وادي زكريت للوصول إلى وجهاتهم.
أما بالنسبة للقادمين من الخيسة على شارع وادي العب والمتجهين نحو شارع وادي زكريت فسيتوجب عليهم مواصلة السير والانعطاف يميناً نحو شارع وادي العسكر للوصول إلى وجهاتهم.
يأتي الإغلاق الجزئي ضمن أعمال مشروع تطوير الطرق والبنية التحتية في العب ولعبيب – الحزمة الثالثة، ويهدف إلى تطوير شارعي وادي العسكر ووادي زكريت وتعزيز السلامة المرورية عليهما، كما يشمل المشروع تطوير الطرق المحلية وتنفيذ ممرات للمشاة، وأنظمة إنارة حديثة بالإضافة إلى تطوير شبكات تصريف مياه الأمطار والصرف الصحي ومياه الشرب والري.
ستقوم هيئة الأشغال العامة بتركيب اللوحات الإرشادية لتنبيه مستخدمي الطريق بهذا الإغلاق المؤقت، وتهيب بجميع مستخدمي الطريق الالتزام بحدود السرعة المسموحة واتباع اللوحات الإرشادية حفاظاً على سلامتهم.
