Nasser Al-Attiyah participates in Dakar Rally

The South African Toyota Gazoo Racing team has announced its participation in the 42nd edition of the Dakar International Rally 2020, which will be held for the first time in the Middle East, hosted by Saudi Arabia during the period (5-17 January 2020).

During the inauguration ceremony, the formation of the team that will compete in the Dakar Rally 2020, consisting of four world champions in the rally, was revealed on board the Toyota Hilux, which has been modified to be able to compete in accordance with the tracks of the Saudi terrain. Qatar’s world champion Nasser Bin Saleh Al-Attiyah won the Dakar Rally three times in 2011, 2015 and 2019.Al-Attiyah is the first driver to win the Dakar Rally for The South African Toyota Gazoo Racing team as well as the World Cross Country Rally Championship.

Also in the squad for the first time will be the double world champion Fernando Alonso of Spain in 2005 and 2006.

أعلن فريق تويوتا جازوا ريسينج الجنوب أفريقي عن مشاركته في منافسات النسخة 42 من رالي داكار الدولي 2020، الذي سيقام لأول مرة في منطقة الشرق الأوسط حيث تستضيفه السعودية خلال الفترة من ( 5 -17 يناير 2020 ).

وخلال حفل التدشين تم الكشف عن تشكيل الفريق الذي سيخوض غمار منافسات رالي داكار 2020 والمكون من أربعة أبطال من نجوم العالم في الراليات على متن سيارة تويوتا هايلوكس التي تم ادخال بعض التعديلات عليها لتكون قادرة على المنافسة بما يتلاءم مع مسارات الأراضي السعودية مختلفة التضاريس، يأتي في مقدمتهم حامل اللقب البطل العالمي القطري ناصر بن صالح العطية الفائز برالي داكار ثلاث مرات أعوام 2011 و2015 و2019، ويعد العطية أول سائق يحقق الفوز برالي داكار لفريق تويوتا جازوا ريسينج وكذلك الفوز ببطولة العالم للراليات الصحراوية الكروس كانتري.

وستشهد التشكيلة ولأول مرة أيضاً مشاركة البطل العالمي السائق الإسباني فرناندو ألونسو بطل العالم في الفورمولا1 مرتين عامي 2005 و2006

ووصف البطل العالمي ناصر بن صالح العطية هذه الخطوة بأنها بداية موفقة ومبشرة من خلال الإعلان عن تشكيلة الفريق، وضم نجم عالمي جديد لصفوفه يعد مكسبا للفريق الذي ستركز عليه الأضواء، مؤكداً أن هناك حالة من التفاؤل تسود مسؤولي الفريق من إمكانية احراز اللقب للمرة الثانية بالنسبة للفريق.

وعن استعداده للمشاركة في رالي داكار الدولي 2020 قال السوبرمان: انا في قمة جاهزيتي وعلى استعداد للمشاركة في خوض غمار رالي داكار الدولي 2020 الذي سيقام في السعودية لأن لي خبرة واسعة سابقة ببعض المسارات بسبب مشاركتي في بعض الراليات هناك، وقد حضرنا في الأسبوع الماضي بإسبانيا حفل تدشين فريق تويوتا جازوا ريسينج بخصوص المشاركة في رالي داكار الدولي وقد اطلعنا على السيارة الجديدة التي سأشارك بها في الرالي وتناقشنا في طريقة الاستعدادات خاصة أنها المرة الأولى التي تقام في منطقة الشرق الأوسط وأنا أضع نصب عيني الاحتفاظ بلقب رالي داكار في الشرق الأوسط، وسأسعى جاهداً لتحقيق هذا الهدف.
