Doha, Qatar: Thanks to its sporty design and distinctive features, the A class appeals to all ages, and has fast become the preferred choice for youths all over the world.

With the new generation of the A-Class, Mercedes-Benz reconciles the conflicting aims of sporty performance and enhanced comfort: With DYNAMIC SELECT the driver is able to change the car’s characteristics in just seconds – at the touch of a button the A-Class drives in a particularly comfortable, sporty or efficient manner. Mercedes-Benz has also increased the range of available engines.

The chassis: comfort at the touch of a button

With DYNAMIC SELECT the vehicle characteristics can be adjusted in seconds at the touch of a button, as the system modifies the engine, transmission, suspension, steering and air conditioning at the driver’s behest. The four driving modes “Comfort”, “Sport”, “Eco” and “Individual” can be conveniently selected using the switch in the upper control panel.

DYNAMIC SELECT allows a particularly broad range of setting options in combination with the new suspension with adaptive damping (optional extra). In this case the driver is able to modify the vehicle’s damping characteristics using the DYNAMIC SELECT Switch. There is a choice between Comfort mode with comfortable damping characteristics and Sport mode for a sporty and more taut damper set-up. Acceleration sensors are used to measure the vehicle’s body movements, and other current information about the vehicle status such as the steering angle, steering speed and yaw rate is included when calculating the damping characteristics.

The design: dynamically curved surfaces and a fresh ambience

Striking lines, dynamically curved surfaces and coupé-like window lines characterise the exterior of the A-Class, following the design philosophy of sensual purity. With a diamond grille, new LED high-performance headlamps (optional extra) and newly designed tail lamps with dual tailpipe trim integrated flush into the bumper, the new generation emphasises the sportiness and dynamics of the successful compact class model series.

An instrument cluster of tubular design with classy dial graphics and anodised switches upgrades the high-quality interior, as does the large, free-standing and frameless display of the infotainment system, which is now optionally available with a larger 20.3-cm (8-inch) screen. New colours and materials, as well as new finishes for the trim in the dashboard, ensure a fresh ambience.

Optional LED High Performance headlamps and ambience lighting which can be individualised with twelve colours and five dimming levels – the equipment range for the A-Class has been judiciously expanded in many areas. Also new is seat cushion depth adjustment by up to 60 mm – a standard feature in all equipment lines.

Multimedia: Trailblazer in smartphone integration

The new-generation A-Class is the first Mercedes-Benz model to be available with comprehensive smartphone integration: Apple® CarPlay® (for iPhone® owners) and MirrorLink® are available now.

At the same time, the new infotainment generation makes its way into the A-Class. Operation is now even more intuitive, with the functions delivering a special experience thanks to animated menus and visual depictions on the even larger display of the multimedia system. On request the screen diagonal now measures 20.3 cm (8 inches), making it at least 2.5 cm (1 inch) larger than before.

Intelligent Drive: improved support, optional LED headlamps

With numerous driving assistance systems from the drowsiness detection system ATTENTION ASSIST to DISTRONIC PLUS distance control, the A-Class is able to give its driver comprehensive support and protection. The assistance systems, which fuse data from various sensor technologies as part of the ‘Intelligent Drive’ concept and thereby significantly enhance safety and comfort, were further advanced in part. For example, the standard COLLISION PREVENTION ASSIST PLUS extends the functions of the previous COLLISION PREVENTION ASSIST (radar supported proximity warning and braking assistance by Adaptive Brake Assist) with autonomous partial braking to reduce the risk of rear-end collisions.

The drowsiness detection system ATTENTION ASSIST (standard) has been similarly upgraded: operating within an extended speed range (60 – 200 km/h), it now uses a five-stage bar display to visualise the driver’s current attention level.

Apart from their distinctive look, the LED high-performance headlamps (optional extra) offer added safety at night thanks to their broad light distribution and a colour temperature approximating daylight.

الهيكل: الراحة، بكبسة زر

مع نظام DYNAMIC SELECT يمكن تعديل مواصفات السيارة خلال ثوان وبكبسة زر فقط؛ حيث يمكن للنظام ضبط المحرك، وناقل الحركة، ونظام التعليق، والتوجيه، والتكييف الهوائي حسب رغبة السائق. كما يمكن اختيار أحد أوضاع القيادة الأربعة الأكثر ملاءمة: وضع الراحة Comfort، أو وضع الرياضة Sport، أو وضع الاقتصاد Eco، أو الوضع الشخصي Individual باستخدام المفتاح في لوحة التحكم العلوية.

ويسمح نظام DYNAMIC SELECT بعدد كبير من خيارات الأوضاع، بالاشتراك مع نظام التعليق الجديد، ونظام امتصاص الصدمات التفاعلي (كخيار إضافي). وفي هذه الحالة، يُمكن للسائق تعديل خصائص امتصاص الصدمات للسيارة باستخدام مفتاح DYNAMIC SELECT؛ حيث يستطيع الاختيار بين وضع الراحة Comfort؛ مع خصائص امتصاص صدمات مريحة، وبين وضع الرياضة Sport للحصول على ضبط رياضي أكثر امتصاصاً للصدمات. وتستخدم حساسات التسارع لقياس تحركات جسم السيارة، وغيرها من البيانات الحالية حول حالة السيارة؛ كزاوية التوجيه وسرعته، ومعدّل زاوية الانحراف عند قياس خصائص امتصاص الصدمات.

التصميم: أسطح ديناميكية منحنية بهيئة جديدة

خطوط باهرة، وأسطح منحنية، وخطوط نوافذ خارجية تشبه خطوط نوافذ سيارة Coupe التي تميز الهيكل الخارجي لسيارة الفئة A، مع اتباع فلسفة الصفاء الحسي في التصميم. ومع شبكة التبريد الماسية، ومصابيح LED الأمامية ذات الأداء العالي (كخيار إضافي)، والمصابيح الخلفية ذات التصميم الحديث، وأنبوب العادم الخلفي المزدوج والمدمج بممتص الصدمات، يؤكد الجيل الجديد للفئة A بهذا كله، على الروح الرياضية والديناميكية في طرازات سيارات هذه الفئة المدمجة.

ومع تابلوه أمامي بتصميم أنبوبي، وعرض راقٍ لبيانات الاتصال، ومفاتيح مطلية بالألومنيوم لإظهار الجودة العالية لمكونات المقصورة، والنظام المعلوماتي الحرّ (بدون إطار)، والمتوفر اختيارياً مع شاشة أكبر بقياس 20.3 سم (8 إنش)، تُعزّز الألوان الجديدة والمواد، واللمسات النهائية على لوحة التحكم من روعة الإطلالة الجديدة لهذا الطراز.

ويتوسع مجال التطوير في تجهيزات الفئة A على عدة محاور، فمنها مثلاً أصبح بالإمكان الآن تعديل عمق وسادة المقعد بمقدار 60 ملم، وهي ميزة قياسية في جميع الطرازات. وتأتي مصابيح LED الأمامية الاختيارية، ذات الأداء العالي والإضاءة المحيطية القابلة للتعديل حسب الرغبة الشخصية مع 12 لوناً وخمس درجات تعتيم.

وفي الداخل، تفاصيل تبهر الأبصار، بدءاً من اللون الأخضر البترولي الذي يحيط بفتحات التهوية، والخياطة العلوية المتباينة بنفس اللون، وكذلك المقاعد الرياضية المنجّدة بالجلد الأسود وألياف ديناميكا DINAMICA الصناعية بالشرائط التزيينية بالإضافة إلى أحزمة المقاعد، بذات اللون الأخضر. ويتوفر إصدار موتورسبورت Motorsport Edition لجميع المحركات على اختلافها بدءاً من A200/ A200D  فصاعداً.

نظام الوسائط المتعددة: ريادة التكامل مع الهواتف المتحركة

يُعتبر الجيل الجديد من الفئة A أول طراز متوفر من مرسيدس– بنز يُؤمن تكاملاً أوسع وأشمل مع الهواتف الذكية: ويتوفر فيه الآن نظاما Apple^® CarPlay^® (لمستخدمي iPhone^®) وMirrorLink^®.

وفي الوقت نفسه يبدأ جيل جديد من المعلوماتية طريقه داخل الفئة A. فقد أصبح تشغيل هذه الأجهزة الآن أكثر بدهية وحدساً، مع وظائف تمنح خبرات خاصة بفضل القوائم المتحركة، والرسومات المرئية على شاشة عرض أكبر للنظام المعلوماتي. وحسب الطلب، يبلغ قطر الشاشة الآن 20.3 سم (8 بوصة)، بما يجعلها أكبر من سابقتها بحوالي 2.5 سم (1 بوصة) على الأقل.

قيادة ذكية: دعم متطور، ومصابيح LED أمامية اختيارية

بوجود العديد من الأنظمة المساعدة بدءاً من نظام الحماية من النعاس ومساعد تنبيه السائق، وحتى نظام ضبط مسافة الأمان المعدّل، يمكن لسيارة الفئة A أن توفر لسائقها دعماً وحماية شاملين. فالأنظمة المساعدة التي تدمج البيانات القادمة من مختلف تقنيات الاستشعار كجزء من مفهوم القيادة الذكية Intelligent Drive وتدعم الأمان والراحة بشكل فعال، كما تأخذ تطورات أخرى مكانها أيضاً. وعلى سبيل المثال: فقد توسعت وظائف نظام مساعد منع التصادم المعدّل بشكل أكبر عما كانت عليه في مساعد منع التصادمات السابق (تنبيه الاقتراب المدعوم بالرادار، ومساعدة المكابح من مساعد المكابح التفاعلي) مع الكبح الجزئي المستقل للحدّ من خطر التصادمات من الخلف.

كما تم إجراء تحسينات مماثلة على نظام الحماية من النعاس ومساعد تنبيه السائق (القياسي)؛ حيث أصبح يعمل الآن عبر مدى سرعة أوسع (بين 60 و200 كلم/ساعة)، ويستخدم النظام الآن شريط عرض ذي خمس مراحل لتمثيل مستوى يقظة السائق الحالي.

وبغض النظر عن التصميم الباهر لمصابيح LED الأمامية ذات الأداء العالي (اختيارية إضافية)، فهي تُعزز أيضاً من السلامة أثناء القيادة الليلية، بفضل توزيعها الواسع للضوء، ودرجة حرارة اللون التي تحاكي ضوء النهار.
