Domasco unveils new Volvo S60 sports sedan

Doha Marketing Services Company (Domasco), the exclusive distributor of Volvo Cars in Qatar, launched the new S60 sports sedan in its showroom yesterday.

The new S60 celebrates the joy of driving through design, according to a statement.

Sculpted sides, a sleek profile and muscular shoulders above the rear wheels highlight the car’s athletic character.

Scandinavian elegance and dynamic attitude combine to give the new S60 a purposeful, focused presence.

It is a car that confidently communicates its ability on the road.

Distinctive details enhance the powerful character of the S60 and identify it as a new generation Volvo Car.

The prominent front grille, full LED headlights with Volvo Cars’ unique T-shaped light signature create an unmistakable presence, day or night.

At the rear, the boot edge kicks upwards for a sportier attitude and better aerodynamics at speed.

The sleek centre touch screen, unique air vents, slender metal-finished controls with diamond-pattern finishes are all tailored for a spirited drive.

Standard comfort seats have power height adjustment as standard.

Contour seats – which are standard or optional depending on trim – provide even greater side support, as well as multi-directional lumbar support and an adjustable cushion extension.

The innovative four-cylinder turbocharged engines available for the S60 balance strong performance with low emissions and fuel consumption.

The base T4 has a 190hp turbocharged engine that powers the front wheels while the T5 version is all-wheel drive turbocharged four-cylinder with 254hp.

Power increases to 400hp on the all-wheel-drive T8 plug-in hybrid.

The “City Safety with Autobrake” technology assists the driver in avoiding potential collisions, and is the only system on the market to recognise pedestrians, cyclists, and large animals.

The optional “Pilot Assist” system – which supports the driver with steering, acceleration and braking on well-marked roads up to 130kph – has been upgraded with improved cornering performance.

The S60 also includes “Run-off Road Mitigation”, “Oncoming Lane Mitigation”, and other steering assistance systems.

The optional “Cross Traffic Alert” with autobrake further enhances safety for people inside and outside the car.

Volvo Cars’ “Sensus Connect” infotainment system is fully compatible with “Apple CarPlay”, “Android Auto” and 4G, and keeps drivers connected at all times.

The intuitive control is a tablet-style touchscreen interface that combines car functions, navigation, connected services and in-car entertainment apps.

Domasco managing director Faisal Sharif said: “Over the past few years, we have witnessed huge strides with each new Volvo model.

“The new models are more dynamic in styling, performance and features, elevating Volvo further in the premium segment.

“The all-new S60 follows the same trend, which completes the line-up of new Volvo models which our discerning customers truly appreciate.

The dynamic S60 is the first Volvo Car to be sold without a diesel offer, signaling the company’s industry-leading commitment to electrification and a long-term future beyond the traditional combustion engine.

It is the first Volvo to be built in the US, at the company’s first-ever US manufacturing plant outside Charleston, South Carolina.

Customers are invited to test drive the new Volvo S60 – starting from QR149,900, including five years or 75,000km free service and unlimited kilometres free warranty at the Volvo cars showroom on Khalifa Street, near the National Mosque and TV Roundabout, from Saturday to Thursday, 8am until 8pm.

تبرز التفاصيل المميزة لشخصية سيارة فولفو S60 القوية كإحدى سيارات الجيل الجديد من فولفو. أما الشبكة الأمامية البارزة، ومصابيح الليد الأمامية مع الضوء الفريد على شكل حرف الـ T الحصري من شركة فولفو، فتضفي حضوراً بارزاً ليلاً ونهاراً. وتفتح حافة الصندوق الخلفية نحو الأعلى لتعطيها طابعاً رياضياً وديناميكية هوائية أفضل عند زيادة السرعة.

قيادة ممتعة

وقد تم تصميم شاشة اللمس المركزية الأنيقة، وفتحات التهوية الفريدة، وأدوات التحكم المعدنية الرفيعة، والتقطيعات الماسية لتوفير قيادة مفعمة بالحيوية. وتتمتع مقاعد Comfort المعيارية بخاصية ضبط الارتفاع التي تعمل على الطاقة، كما توفر مقاعد Contour الأساسية أو الاختيارية -حسب تصميم الديكور- دعماً جانبياً أكبر، إضافة إلى دعم متعدد الاتجاهات، وملحق وسادة قابل للتعديل.

وتوازن المحركات المبتكرة المتوافرة في «فولفو S60» بين الأداء القوي والانخفاض في الانبعاثات واستهلاك الوقود. ويتم شحن كل محرك من أربع أسطوانات بشاحن توربيني لضمان أقصى استجابة. ويملك محرك T4 قوة 190 حصاناً مع دفع أمامي؛ في حين يملك محرك T5 قوة 254 حصاناً مع دفع رباعي، في حين أن محرك T8 الهجين له قوة 400 حصان مع دفع رباعي.

وسائل السلامة

أما نظام «City Safety» الذي يساعد السائق على تفادي حوادث الصدم المحتملة، فهو النظام الوحيد في السوق، مع خاصية رصد المشاة وراكبي الدراجات والحيوانات الكبيرة. كما تم في هذه السيارة تحديث نظام مساعد السائق التلقائي الاختياري، ليدعم نظام التوجيه والإسراع، والكبح بكفاءة على الطرقات، حتى عند سرعة 130 كم/ الساعة. وتتوفر في «S60» أيضاً خاصية التنبيه عند الانحراف إلى خارج الطريق «Run-Off Road Mitigation» وخاصية التنبيه عند الخروج عن الخط «Oncoming Lane Mitigation»، كذلك نظم أخرى للمساعدة على التوجيه. ويعزز نظام «Cross Traffic Alert» الاختياري مع نظام الكبح التلقائي من سلامة الأشخاص داخل السيارة وخارجها.

ويتوافق نظام المعلومات والترفيه الخاص بشركة «فولفو سنسس كونكت» بالكامل مع «Apple CarPlay» و»Android Auto» و»4G»، حيث يبقي السائقين على اتصال دائم. وللتحكم البديهي بالنظام، تم تزويد السيارة بواجهة شاشة تعمل باللمس على غرار الجهاز اللوحي، تجمع بين وظائف السيارة، وخيارات الملاحة، والخدمات المتصلة، وتطبيقات الترفيه داخل السيارة.

خطوة كبيرة

وتعد سيارة S60 الديناميكية أول سيارة فولفو يتم بيعها بدون عرض ديزل، ما يعكس التزام الشركة الرائد في القطاع بجعل نظم الدفع المتوافرة في سياراتها «مكهربة»، وبتوفير مستقبل طويل الأجل يتخطى عمر محركات الاحتراق التقليدية. وتعتبر هذه السيارة أول سيارة فولفو يتم تصنيعها في الولايات المتحدة، في أول مصنع أميركي للشركة على الإطلاق خارج تشارلستون، ساوث كارولينا.
