Shura Council signs MoU with Chamber of Deputies of Brazil

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed yesterday between the Shura Council and the Chamber of Deputies of the Federal Republic of Brazil.
The Speaker of the Shura Council, H E Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid Al Mahmoud, and the President of the Chamber of Deputies of Brazil, Rodrigo Maia, signed the MoU.
Under the MoU, the two parties agreed to establish a partnership and strengthen relations based on the principles of equality, mutual trust and common interests.
The MoU aims to strengthen, and develop parliamentary relations through the exchange of information on issues of mutual interest and on all parliamentary issues within the competence of the parties.
Also, the MoU provides for coordination in international conferences, meetings, and forums and to work towards unifying positions. It provides for the exchange of experiences between the Shura Council and Chamber of Deputies of Brazil in various fields such as legislative work and internal organisation.
This came during a meeting of H E the Speaker of the Shura Council with the President of the Chamber of Deputies of the Federal Republic of Brazil and the accompanying delegation. The meeting discussed the cooperation relations between the two councils and ways of supporting and developing them.
H E the Speaker affirmed the common desire to develop the Qatari-Brazilian relations, especially in the parliamentary field and upgrading them to serve the interests of the peoples of the two countries.
The President of the Chamber of Deputies of Brazil expressed his happiness to visit Qatar and to see the renaissance witnessed in various fields, praising Qatar’s distinguished role at the regional and international levels. He affirmed his keenness to work to strengthen bilateral cooperation between the two countries and develop their parliamentary cooperation. He pointed out that the signing of an MoU between the Shura Council and the Latin American and Caribbean Parliament last June, in which Qatar became an observer member of the Latin American and Caribbean Parliament, has given Qatar’s relations with Latin America and the Caribbean a new dimension and opened wider horizons for it.
The meeting was attended by the Chairman of the Qatari Friendship Committee with Latin American and Caribbean Countries, Khalid bin Abdullah Al Buainain, and Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Brazil to Qatar, Roberto Abdalla.
تم التوقيع أمس بالدوحة على مذكرة تفاهم بين مجلس الشورى ومجلس النواب في جمهورية البرازيل الاتحادية، حيث وقّع على المذكرة سعادة السيد أحمد بن عبد الله بن زيد آل محمود رئيس مجلس الشورى، وسعادة السيد رودريغو مايا، رئيس مجلس النواب بجمهورية البرازيل الاتحادية.
واتفق الطرفان بموجب مذكرة التفاهم على إقامة شراكة وتعزيز العلاقات التي تربط الطرفين على أسس مبادئ المساواة والثقة المتبادلة والمصالح المشتركة، وتعزيز العلاقات البرلمانية وتقويتها وتطويرها من خلال تبادل المعلومات حول القضايا ذات الاهتمام المشترك، وحول جميع القضايا البرلمانية التي تدخل ضمن اختصاصات الطرفين.
وتنص مذكرة التفاهم على التنسيق في المؤتمرات والاجتماعات والمنتديات الدولية، والعمل على توحيد المواقف، كما تنص على تبادل الخبرات بين مجلس الشورى ومجلس النواب بجمهورية البرازيل الاتحادية في مختلف الميادين كالعمل التشريعي والتنظيم الداخلي.
جاء ذلك خلال اجتماع سعادة رئيس مجلس الشورى مع سعادة رئيس مجلس النواب بجمهورية البرازيل الاتحادية والوفد المرافق، والذي جرى خلاله بحث علاقات التعاون بين المجلسين وسبل دعمها وتطويرها، إلى جانب استعراض عدد من الموضوعات ذات الاهتمام المتبادل.
وأكد سعادة السيد أحمد بن عبد الله بن زيد آل محمود الرغبة المشتركة في تطوير العلاقات القطرية البرازيلية، خاصة في المجال البرلماني والارتقاء بها خدمة لمصالح شعبي البلدين.
من جانبه، أعرب سعادة رئيس مجلس النواب البرازيلي عن سعادته بزيارة قطر والوقوف على ما تشهده من نهضة في مختلف المجالات، مشيداً بدور قطر المتميز على الصعيدين الإقليمي والدولي، ومؤكداً حرصه على العمل من أجل تعزيز التعاون الثنائي بين البلدين، وتطوير تعاونهما البرلماني، مشيراً إلى أن توقيع مذكرة التفاهم بين مجلس الشورى وبرلمان دول أميركا اللاتينية والكاريبي في شهر يونيو الماضي، والتي على ضوئها أصبحت دولة قطر عضواً مراقباً في برلمان أميركا اللاتينية والكاريبي، قد أعطى علاقات دولة قطر مع دول أميركا اللاتينية والكاريبي بُعداً جديداً وفتح أمامها آفاقاً أرحب وأوسع.
حضر الاجتماع سعادة السيد خالد بن عبد الله البوعينين، رئيس مجموعة الصداقة البرلمانية القطرية مع دول أميركا اللاتينية والكاريبي وأعضاء المجموعة، وسعادة السيد روبيرتو عبد الله، سفير جمهورية البرازيل الاتحادية لدى الدولة.
