The Joint Rainfall Emergency Committee started preparations to deal with the rainy season by holding several preparatory meetings under the Chairmanship of Safar Mubarak Al Shafi, Assistant Under-Secretary for General Services Affairs at the Ministry of Municipality and Environment, and members of the concerned authorities.
The meetings discussed all the equipment, mechanisms, equipment and work teams needed to deal with rainwater pools and requests and communications of the public, in addition to the locations of the hot spots of these waters during the last season compared with previous years, and the importance of redoubling efforts during this year to provide all the necessary means to ensure the withdrawal of water pools as fast as possible.
The committee also discussed the possibilities of each participant, a plan for cooperation, coordination and speedy response to requests from the public and communications received by the operating room.
The committee will set up a mechanism for rain emergencies, prepare strategic plans to cope with it, coordinate and cooperate with the relevant authorities in this regard, and ensure the readiness of municipalities and competent departments and their readiness to deal with rain emergencies.
بدأت اللجنة المشتركة لطوارئ الأمطار استعداداتها اللازمة لمواجهة موسم الأمطار، برئاسة السيد سفر مبارك آل شافي الوكيل المساعد لشؤون الخدمات العامة بوزارة البلدية والبيئة، وعضوية عدد من الجهات المعنية بالدولة.
وناقشت اللجنة التجهيزات كافة والآليات والمعدات وفرق العمل اللازمة للتعامل مع تجمعات مياه الأمطار وطلبات وبلاغات الجمهور.
كما استعرضت مواقع النقاط الساخنة لتجمعات مياه الأمطار «النقاط السوداء» خلال موسم أمطار العام الماضي، ومقارنتها بالسنوات السابقة، والتركيز على إمكانية مضاعفة الجهود وتوفير جميع الإمكانيات اللازمة، لضمان سحب تجمعات المياه بأقصى سرعة ممكنة خلال العام الحالي.
كما ناقشت اللجنة الإمكانيات المتوفرة لدى كل جهة مشاركة، ووضع خطة للتعاون والتنسيق وسرعة الاستجابة لطلبات الجمهور والبلاغات التي ترد إلى غرفة العمليات.
وتضم اللجنة المشتركة لطوارئ الأمطار في عضويتها، مديري إدارات شؤون الخدمات بالبلديات، ومدير إدارة النظافة العامة، وممثل عن إدارة العلاقات العامة، وممثل عن إدارة الأعتدة الميكانيكية، كما تضم من خارج الوزارة كلاً من: مدير إدارة تشغيل وصيانة شبكات الصرف الصحي بهيئة الأشغال العامة، وممثلين عن كل من: وزارة الداخلية، وقوة الأمن الداخلي «لخويا»، والقوات المسلحة القطرية، و«قطر للبترول».
