QC, Stantec distribute gifts to patient workers

DOHA: Stantec Company in cooperation with Qatar Charity (QC) has distributed gifts and personal hygiene kits to a group of patient workers at Hamad General Hospital during a visit paid to them as part of the events of QC’s project entitled ‘You are not alone’.

This collaboration has come as part of Stantec’s social responsibility and its keenness to organise activities and events to serve the community, said a release.

Roger Vreugdenhil, Business Director at the Company said: “This year, we are honoured to cooperate with Qatar Charity and Hamad General Hospital to provide moral and practical support to workers who have been injured while working away from their families and beloved ones.”

Vreugdenhil added that Stantec encourages its employees from around the world to participate in voluntary work, and support charities and humanitarian issues through its annual initiative entitled “Stantec in Community” to enhance interaction with the community in which the company operates.

For his part, Fareed Khaleel Al Siddieqy, Director of Projects and Centers Department at Qatar Charity, expressed his pride in participating in the good initiative of Stantec to visit the patients as part of the “You are not alone” project.

He also noted that this visit brought a smile to the faces of patients, contributed to reducing the feeling of pain and estrangement, and represented a significant incentive for healing, Allah willing.

Al Siddieqy stressed that Qatar Charity is ready to cooperate with institutions and companies that wish to carry out humanitarian initiatives within the framework of community responsibility, as such cooperation and partnership has an impact beneficial to society.

The visit had a good impact on the beneficiary patients who expressed their gratitude to the initiators for this humanitarian gesture.

Cooperation and partnership “You are not alone” is a project implemented by Qatar Charity throughout the year to instill the values of volunteerism and compassion in the hearts of the participants.

قامت شركة ستانتيك البريطانية بالتعاون مع «قطر الخيرية»، بزيارة العمال المرضى في مستشفى حمد العام، وتوزيع الهدايا ومستلزمات النظافة الشخصية على مجموعة منهم بالتنسيق مع إدارة المستشفى.

جاءت هذه الزيارة ضمن برنامج «لست وحدك»، وفي إطار مسؤولية الشركة ستانتيك المجتمعية، وقال روجر فرودينهل، مدير شركة ستانتيك – فرع قطر: «يشرفنا هذا العام أن نتعاون مع مؤسسة قطر الخيرية ومستشفى حمد العام، لتقديم الدعم المعنوي والعملي للعمال، حيث يعيشون بعيداً عن عائلاتهم وأحبائهم».

وأضاف أن «ستانتيك» تشجع موظفيها من جميع أنحاء العالم على التطوع، ودعم المنظمات الخيرية والقضايا الإنسانية، من خلال المبادرة السنوية «ستانتيك في المجتمع»، وذلك لتعزيز التفاعل مع المجتمع الذي نعمل به.

وعبّر السيد علي الغريب -مدير إدارة التنمية المحلية بـ «قطر الخيرية»- عن اعتزازه بالمشاركة والمبادرة الطيبة من شركة ستانتيك، لزيارة المرضى ضمن برنامج «لست وحدك»، منوهاً بأن هذه الزيارة رسمت الابتسامة على وجوه المرضى، وساهمت في التقليل من الشعور بالألم والغربة، ومثلت حافزاً معنوياً للشفاء بإذن الله.

وأكد السيد علي الغريب أن «قطر الخيرية» مستعدة للتعاون مع المؤسسات والشركات التي تود تنفيذ مبادرات إنسانية في إطار المسؤولية المجتمعية مهما كان حجمها، لما لهذا التعاون والشراكة من أثر، يعود على المجتمع بالنفع والخير.

وقد تركت هذه الزيارة أثراً طيباً في نفوس المستفيدين من المرضى الذين تفاعلوا معها، وعبروا عن امتنانهم لأصحاب المبادرة على هذه اللفتة الإنسانية.

تعاون وشراكة

ويعتبر «لست وحدك» مشروعاً تنفذه «قطر الخيرية» طوال أيام السنة، بهدف غرس قيم التطوع والتراحم في نفوس المشاركين، وترك الأثر الطيب في نفوس المستفيدين، وذلك بالتعاون مع عدد من المبادرات الشبابية والمؤسسات والشركات، من خلال تنظيم أنشطة وزيارات للمرضى وكبار السن في المستشفيات ودور المسنين «إحسان»، والترويح عنهم.;
