Ashghal opens Al Noof and Tinbak interchanges in Al-Khor Road
«أشغال» تفتتح تقاطعي «راس النوف» و«تنبك» بطريق الخور

Continuing it’s efforts to ensure better connectivity between World Cup stadiums and bringing together the vital areas in Qatar, the Public Works Authority (Ashghal) on Sunday opened Ras Al Noof Interchange and Tinbak Interchange which are part of the Al-Khor Road project.
The interchanges were opened in the presence of representatives from the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy, the General Directorate of Traffic and Ras Laffan Industrial City and a number of engineers from Ashghal and the contracting company.
The new interchanges are located in the north of Al Khor Road and they serve many residential areas, vital facilities, economic, sports and leisure activities that include Ras Laffan, Ras Al Noof and Tinbak, as well as Al Bayt Stadium.
Ras Al Noof Interchange is located at the entrance of Al Khor City. The new interchange has two levels that consist of the main 100m long bridge of two lanes in each direction, four loops and four exits.
Tinbak Interchange is located at exit 47 on Al Khor Road, 7.5km from Al Khor City. The interchange consists of two levels and contains a 100m long main bridge that includes two roundabouts.
While addressing mediapersons during the inaugural ceremony, Hassan Saeedan Maejeba, project engineer at Ashghal, said the construction of Al Khor Road has been completed by more than 92% with the opening of the two interchanges.
“Four interchanges, parts of service roads, cycle and pedestrian paths remain to be completed as part of the project that’s scheduled to be completed in the second quarter of 2020,” he said.
Dr Nasser Hamad al-Hajri, executive director of Al Bayt Stadium project, said the developments of Al Khor Road will ensure easy access to Al Bayt and Lusail stadiums.
He explained that Ras Al Noof Interchange assumes much importance as it’s directly connected to the Al Bayt Stadium, facilitating free flowing traffic.
Captain engineer Mohamed Mesfir al-Hajri praised the co-ordination between the General Directorate of Traffic and Ashghal and said they are both working together to achieve development.
Al Khor Road, with five lanes in each direction, can accommodate about 20,000 vehicles per hour. Two other emergency lanes increase the capacity of the road and enhance traffic safety. Al Khor Coastal Road main carriageway serves as an alternative to Al Shamal Road as it allows road users coming from Al Khor to reach their destinations in less than 20 minutes and save time by up to 65%. Al Khor Road directly serves more than 20 residential areas alongside it’s carriageway, in addition to a number of economic, commercial and public amenities in the surrounding areas.
Al Khor Road will also create a new urban area extending along the east coast of Doha to Al Khor and Ras Laffan. The road will become the centre of development to encourage the population of Doha to move outside the city and to settle at Al Khor. Besides, Lusail will become one of the most sought after residential areas. The project will open the door for more investment business, real estate and agricultural sectors. Al Khor Road is unique in that it has space for a railway track on the wide central median.
The remaining sections of the road include the construction of 34km of Olympic cycle track on one side of the carriageway and 33km of shared paths for pedestrians and cyclists on the other side as well as the construction of 42 pedestrian and cycle underpasses. Al Khor Expressway connects to several main roads Al Shamal Road, Al Khor, Simaisma and Al Majd roads and Al Turfa Street.
Al Khor Road from Doha to Al Khor serves more than 20 residential areas and it’s a major link to a number of FIFA 2022 World Cup stadiums and sports centres.
افتتحت هيئة الأشغال العامة «أشغال»، أمس، تقاطع «راس النوف» وتقاطع «تنبك»، ضمن الأعمال الإنشائية لطريق الخور، بحضور ممثلين عن اللجنة العليا للمشاريع والإرث، والإدارة العامة للمرور، وإدارة مدينة راس لفان الصناعية، وعدد من مهندسي «أشغال» والشركة المنفذة. يقع التقاطعان الجديدان في شمال طريق الخور؛ حيث يخدمان العديد من المناطق السكنية والمرافق الحيوية والأنشطة الاقتصادية والرياضية والترفيهية، مثل «راس لفان» و«راس النوف» و«تنبك»، فضلاً عن استاد البيت.
ويقع تقاطع «راس النوف» عند مدخل مدينة الخور؛ حيث يتألف التقاطع الجديد من مستويين، إذ يتضمن جسراً رئيسياً بطول 100 متر من مسارين في كل اتجاه وأربعة جسور التفافية وأربعة مخارج.
يوفّر تقاطع «راس النوف» تدفقاً مرورياً حراً إلى استاد البيت، ويسهل الوصول إلى «راس لفان» بشكل مباشر دون الحاجة إلى المرور من مدينة الخور، ما يختصر زمن الرحلة، كما يخدم المناطق المجاورة مثل راس النوف والخور، إلى جانب مطار الخور وشاطئ الفركية.
ويقع تقاطع «تنبك» عند مخرج 47 بطريق الخور، على بُعد 7.5 كيلومتر من مدينة الخور. يتألف التقاطع من مستويين؛ حيث يحتوي على جسر رئيسي بطول 100 متر، يتضمن دوارين يوفران مخارج ومداخل تسهّل الحركة المرورية في الاتجاهات كافة.
يُعتبر تقاطع «تنبك» حلقة وصل مهمة بين الحركة المرورية القادمة من طريق الشمال في اتجاه طريق الخور، كما يسهّل الوصول أمام القادمين من الخور أو الدوحة في اتجاه «تنبك» و»الجريان» والمناطق المجاورة إلى جانب شمال سميسمة.
وأكد حسن سعيدان المعجبة، مهندس المشروع، أن «أشغال» افتتحت تقاطع «راس النوف» وتقاطع «تنبك» ضمن أعمال طريق الخور، مشيراً إلى أنه بهذا الافتتاح تصل نسبة إنجاز مشروع طريق الخور أكثر من 92 %؛ حيث يتبقى من الأعمال أربعة تقاطعات وأجزاء من الطرق الخدمية ومسارات الدراجات الهوائية والمشاة؛ حيث من المقرر اكتمال المشروع في الربع الثاني من عام 2020.
وأوضح المعجبة أن التقاطعين الجديدين يخدمان المناطق شمال طريق الخور، مثل الخور وراس لفان راس النوف وتنبك، إلى جانب استاد البيت ومطار الخور وشاطئ الفركية وغيرها؛ لافتاً إلى أن تقاطع راس النوف يوفر مدخلاً لمنطقة راس النوف، والتي تتضمن أراضي جديدة للمواطنين ما يشجع على تطوير المنطقة سريعاً.
من جهته، وجّه الدكتور ناصر حمد الهاجري، المدير التنفيذي لمشروع استاد البيت، شكره إلى هيئة الأشغال العامة على إنجاز معظم أجزاء طريق الخور، مشيراً إلى أن طريق الخور عند اكتماله سيساعد على سهولة وصول الجماهير إلى استاد البيت واستاد لوسيل.
وأوضح أن تقاطع راس النوف له أهمية خاصة؛ حيث يتصل مباشرة باستاد البيت؛ إذ يوفر التقاطع تدفقاً مرورياً حراً إلى الاستاد.
وبدوره، أشاد النقيب المهندس محمد مسفر الهاجري، رئيس قسم التخطيط المروري بالإدارة العامة للمرور، بالتنسيق الدائم والمستمر مع هيئة الأشغال العامة، مشيراً إلى أن الإدارة العامة للمرور و«أشغال» تعملان في خطين متوازيين.
وأكد الهاجري على أهمية الافتتاح في تحسين الحركة المرورية، موضحاً أنه من بين المزايا المهمة لتقاطع راس النوف أنه يستطيع القادمون من طريق الخور الوصول مباشرة إلى «راس لفان» دون الحاجة إلى المرور من داخل الخور، وهو ما يعمل على خفض الزمن الرحلة لرواد الطريق، بل ويقلل من الازدحام المروري بمدينة الخور.
وأضاف أن تقاطع «تنبك» يُعتبر حلقة وصل مهمة أمام القادمين، سواء من الدوحة أو من طريق الشمال؛ حيث يوفر التقاطع مخارج ومداخل في الاتجاهات كافة.
