Qatari dhow Fath Al Khair Resumes Trip to Albania

After overcoming weather challenges, traditional Qatari dhow Fath Al Khair has arrived in the Greek island of Corfu. On arrival at the island, the dhow received a warm welcome and sparked great interest during the reception hosted by the Qatar Embassy in Greece. On this occasion, Abdulaziz Ali Al Naama, Ambassador of Qatar to Greece, said that Corfu island was the last destination in Greece for Fath Al Khair 4 before it sails towards Albania. For his part, the mayor of Corfu Island was delighted to receive the dhow, praising the voyage that promotes the World Cup 2022 in Qatar. Fath Al Khair’s captain Mohammed Al Sada expressed his great happiness with the warm reception especially from the people and tourists who came specially to see the dhow. The officials toured the dhow and learned about it including its various parts, pearl diving and how to open oysters. After its stop in Corfu island, Fath Al Khair heads towards Albania then to Split, the second largest city of Croatia located on the eastern shore of the Adriatic sea. Fath Al Khair will then sail toward Italy in Puglia, Venice, and Sicily concluding the first phase of its journey in Genoa northern Italy which it is expected to reach by early October. It is worth mentioning that Fath Al Khair 4 began its historic voyage to Europe and North Africa with 15 sailors on board on July 10 from Babik Port in Istanbul’s Bosporus Strait. The second phase of Fath Al Khair 4 is scheduled to begin in June next year.

استأنف محمل فتح الخير 4 رحلته اليوم في مدينة سارندا في ألبانيا، بعد أن أنهى جولته في اليونان، كما سيشمل برنامج الرحلة العاصمة الألبانية تيرانا. وكان محمل فتح الخير 4 قد أنهى جولته إلى اليونان في جزيرة كورفو بعد رحلة تخللتها تحديات مناخية عدة. وحظي محمل فتح الخير 4 لدى وصوله إلى الجزيرة بحفاوة واهتمام كبيرين وذلك من خلال حفل الاستقبال الذي أقامته السفارة القطرية لدى اليونان وكان في استقبالهم سعادة السيد عبد العزيز علي النعمة سفير قطر لدى اليونان، وسعادة السيد كوستس نيكولاس عمدة جزيرة كورفو. من جانبه عبر العمدة عن سعادته باستقبال المحمل.. مشيدا بهذه الرحلة التي تروج لكأس العالم في قطر 2022، كما أشاد بهمة اليزوة في تكبد المشاق وقطع آلاف الميال على محمل تقليدي يعكس تراث دولة قطر. وقام عدد من المسؤولين اليونانيين بجولة على متن المحمل وتعرفوا فيها على أجزاءه المختلفة، كما تعرفوا على طريقة فتح المحار وصيد اللؤلؤ، وكان من ضمن فعاليات الاحتفال استعراضات وأغاني شعبية قدمتها فرقة يونانية ترحيبا بوصول المحمل. جدير بالذكر أن محمل فتح الخير وبعد محطته في ألبانيا يغادر إلى جزيرة سليت بكرواتيا والتي تقع على الشاطئ الشرقي للبحر الأدرياتيكي، بعد ذلك يتوجه إلى بوليا في شرق إيطاليا، ومنها إلى مدينة البندقية (فينيسيا) بإيطاليا ثم يقصد صقلية أكبر جزيرة في البحر الأبيض المتوسط، لتختتم المرحلة الأولى من رحلة فتح الخير 4 في ( جنوا) شمال إيطاليا والتي من المتوقع الوصول إليها مطلع شهر أكتوبر القادم
