Qatar Charity builds QR2mn facility for Indonesian orphans
«قطر الخيرية» تدشّن مركزاً كبيراً للأيتام في إندونيسيا بتكلفة مليوني ريال
Qatar Charity (QC) has built a multi-service centre for orphans in Indonesia at an estimated cost of QR2mn to “benefit thousands of orphans, their families and residents of neighbouring areas”, it has been announced.
The centre, named ‘Al-Nahlah for Orphans’, consists of a residential complex, a health centre, a vocational centre, a mosque and green spaces. It aims to provide integrated care for orphans, offer basic health services, raise health awareness and provide awareness and health guidance, in addition to sheltering and supporting poor families, QC has said in a statement.
The facility includes a vocational centre with six classrooms for teaching different crafts and professions, such as car mechanics, sewing and computer operating. The cost of the project is about QR1mn.
The centre includes a water well with an ablution area, green spaces and a courtyard, as well as a mosque that can accommodate 400 worshippers, benefiting orphans and the people of the neighbourhood.
Currently, 150 orphans are benefiting from the centre and the new school year will start with the addition of 250 students, totaling 400 male and female orphaned students.
Further, the centre has a 20-room residential complex, which provides adequate shelter for 120 orphans and their families in an area where people need assonance and proper housing.
It also includes a health centre benefiting more than 2,000 people from the region. The health centre contributes to alleviating the suffering of residents of the region, especially mothers, children and the elderly. The centre also supports large hospitals in providing services, as well as helping needy people from the community.
Bebin Rahmatin, director of ‘Al-Nahlah for Orphans’, said: “This centre was a dream for my husband and me. We started our work by providing care for five orphans. The number then rose to 50 orphaned girls and boys, necessitating the expansion of the place to accommodate the increased number of orphans, who had to sleep on the floor.”
“I went to Qatar Charity’ office in Indonesia for assistance in building a classroom and a room, and was surprised by QC’s intervention to build an integrated center with several facilities for the care of orphans,” Rahmatin added, thanking the donors and Qatar Charity for their contribution to support orphans.
She said a delegation of women from QC visited the region and came to know about the situation of the orphans. They distributed gifts to the orphaned boys and girls and the people of the neighbourhood. The delegation also provided many income-generating projects for the area to improve the living conditions there.
For his part, Sheikh Mukhtar, a member of the board of directors of the centre, thanked the people of Qatar for implementing the project, pointing out that the location of the mosque was chosen to be closer to the road that connects the provinces to serve as many people as possible.
انطلاقاً من اهتمامها المتواصل بفئة الأيتام ورعايتهم الشاملة في إطار «مبادرة رفقاء»، وبدعم كريم من أهل قطر، أنشأت «قطر الخيرية» مركز «النحلة للأيتام» في إندونيسيا، وهو مركز متعدد المرافق، بتكلفة تقدر بنحو مليوني ريال، يخدم آلاف الأشخاص من الأيتام وأسرهم وسكان المناطق المجاورة.
يتكون المركز من مجمع سكني، ومستوصف، ومركز مهني، ومسجد، إضافة إلى ساحات خضراء، بهدف توفير رعاية متكاملة للأيتام وتقديم خدمات صحية أساسية ورفع مستوى الوعي الصحي، والاهتمام بالنظافة لدى السكان، وتقديم الإرشادات التوعوية والصحية، بجانب توفير المأوى والسكن الملائم ودعم الأسر الفقيرة.
كما يشمل مركزاً مهنياً يتكون من 6 فصول للتدريس والتدريب، ويضم حرفاً مختلفة، مثل ميكانيكا السيارات وإطارات السيارات والخياطة والكمبيوتر. كما يضم المركز بئر مياه مع متوضأ ومساحات خضراء وفناء، بالإضافة إلى مسجد يتسع لـ 400 مصل يستفيد منه الأيتام وأهل الحي. ويستوعب المركز 150 يتيماً حالياً، وسيبدأ العام الدراسي المقبل بإضافة 250 طالباً ليصبح إجمالي من يستوعبهم المركز 400 طالب وطالبة من الأيتام.
المركز يضم أيضاً مجمعاً سكنياً يشتمل على 20 بيتاً يستفيد منه 120 طفلاً من الأيتام وأسرهم، يوفر المجمع السكني المأوى اللائق لهم حيث تفتقر هذه المنطقة للسكن الملائم مع ارتفاع عدد الأسر الذين هم بحاجة لتقديم يد العون والمساعدة.
كما يتضمن مركزاً صحياً يستفيد منه أكثر من 2000 شخص من أهل المنطقة والأيتام، حيث يساهم المركز الصحي في تخفيف معاناة سكان المنطقة الصحية، خاصة الأمهات والأطفال وكبار السن، كما يدعم المركز المستشفيات الكبيرة في تقديم الخدمات، بجانب دعم الفئات المجتمعية التي لا تستطيع الاستفادة من الخدمات المقدمة.
وقالت السيدة بيبين رحماتين مديرة مركز النحلة للأيتام: «لقد كان هذا المركز حلماً لنا، أنا وزوجي، وبدأنا العمل في رعاية الأيتام من خلال 5 أيتام في البداية ثم ازداد العدد إلى أن وصل إلى 50 يتيماً ويتيمة وضاق المكان الذي أعددناه لهم، وتوفى زوجي فزادت الأحزان والأعباء، وكانت وصيته أن الأرض التي نمتلكها تخصص كمركز للأيتام».
وقدم الشيخ مختار عضو مجلس إدارة المركز، شكره للمتبرعين الأكارم من أهل قطر على هذا المشروع الذي يؤكد روح التكافل والتراحم بين أبناء الأمة الواحدة، مشيراً إلى أن مكان المسجد تم اختياره ليكون أقرب للطريق الذي يصل بين المحافظات حتى يخدم أكبر عدد ممكن.
