Ministry warns passengers against carrying luggage of others
الداخلية تحذر المسافرين: لا تحملوا حقائب الآخرين خلال السفر دون العلم بمحتوياتها
Doha: The Ministry of Interior (MOI) has advised passengers not to carry the luggage of others without prior knowledge as they may be exposed to legal accountability if it contains any banned substances.
“Remember that carrying luggage of others without knowledge of its contents may impede your travel procedures and expose you to legal accountability,” said the Ministry on its Twitter account.
The Ministry also urged travellers to adhere to security and safety requirements and not carry any banned items specified at airline tickets or airline counter.
“The Airport Passports Department is working to facilitate the procedures for passengers and to overcome all the obstacles. To avoid any delay, passengers have to check about the validity of the passport. It is important to make sure that all the passports and tickets are with the passengers before leaving home,” said the Ministry.
These tips came in time when many citizens and residents are taking their summer vacation to spend holidays in another countries.
In the first quarter of this year, Hamad International Airport (HIA) has reportedly served a total of 9.16 million passengers. It also handled 56,573 aircraft movements and 505,581 tonnes of cargo in total from January to March 2019.
HIA served 3.2 million passengers in January, 2.8 million in February and 3.15 million in March, which include passengers arriving, departing and transferring through Qatar’s airport, signifying a 5.07 percent increase from the previous year.

قدم الحساب الرسمي لوزارة الداخلية -على موقع التواصل الاجتماعي «تويتر»- مجموعة من النصائح للمسافرين، مع ازدياد عددهم في فصل الصيف لقضاء العطلات، وشددت الوزارة في تغريداتها على أهمية اتباع النصائح، حتى لا يواجه المسافر متاعب في المطار، أو يتعرض للمساءلة القانونية.
أكدت الوزارة أهمية التوجه للمطار قبل موعد إقلاع الطائرة بساعتين على الأقل، وقالت: «عزيزي المسافر، توجّه لمطار حمد الدولي، قبل موعد الإقلاع بوقت مبكر «ساعتين على الأقل» #الداخلية_قطر #السفر_الآمن.
وحذرت الوزارة من ظاهرة تتكرر بصورة مستمرة في موسم الإجازات، حيث يقوم البعض بحمل حقائب الآخرين، لتقاسم الوزن الذي لا يكفي البعض أحياناً، ويكون البعض لديهم إمكانية لأخذ وزن إضافي لما معهم، الأمر الذي يوقع بعض المسافرين في مشكلات، نظراً لعدم علمهم بمحتوى هذه الحقائب، أو قد يعرضهم للمساءلة القانونية، وغرد حساب الوزارة: «تذكر أن حملك لحقائب الغير دون علمك بمحتوياتها يعيق إجراءات سفرك، وقد يعرضك للمساءلة القانونية» #الداخلية_قطر #السفر_الآمن.
ومن النصائح التي أكد عليها الحساب الرسمي لوزارة الداخلية أيضاً: «عند وصولك إلى مطار حمد الدولي، يرجى الانتباه إلى اللوحات الإرشادية التي تسهل إجراءات سفرك».
«من أجل سفر آمن، يرجى التأكد من صلاحية مستندات وتصاريح السفر اللازمة والتحقق من حجوزات الطيران».
«عزيزي المسافر، الإجراءات والمتطلبات الأمنية بمطار حمد الدولي، للمحافظة على أمنك وسلامتك، نتمنى لك سفراً آمناً».
