Integrated counters to provide quick services at SFD’s new office

The Search and Follow-up Department (SFD) has launched a new office to provide easy access and prompt services to the public through its integrated staff counters.

Located at its headquarters premises on Salwa Road, the new office is part of SFD’s efforts to help visitors easily get services and save their time, the Ministry of Interior (MoI) said in a press statement.

“The opening of this office comes as an advanced step in facilitating easy access for citizens and residents to the services being provided by the department,” said SFD Director Brigadier Abdullah Jaber al-Lebda.

Brigadier al- Lebda added that it was an effort to reduce the time and effort of the visitors and help them avail the services in an easier way while ensuring the highest service delivery standards.

The SFD deals with the law of entry, exit and residence of expatriates and works to reduce the cases of run-away and illegal workers. It also ensures that workers leave the country only after receiving their full legal rights.

The office with 20 service counters and two entrances will be open from 6 am to 6 pm and has a large area that can accommodate more than 150 visitors at a time.

Facilities include easy entry and exit and smooth flow of transactions. With the latest electronic and technical systems, the office will also ensure accuracy and take less time to complete transactions.

Manned by highly qualified staff and officers, the services office has an integrated counter staff system. This helps visitors get their work done without the need to approach other employees, counters or service halls.

The average number of visitors, received by the office per day is 450. The office also has five counters for officers to facilitate easy approval of the applications of the visitors, receive their inquiries, listen to their grievances and to solve the problems they face to complete the procedures. These facilities will bring down service time and the issues will be handled with utmost attention and seriousness.

“This office is a great qualitative development in providing excellent services to the visitors. And it functions in line with MoI’s direction towards achieving its strategy,” said Lieutenant Colonel Ali Ahmed al -Kuwari, Assistant Director of SFD.

He pointed out that the department has trained a number of employees who through a single counter can finish all the procedures related to the request of the visitors.

In the case of any violations for which the visitor has to pay a fine, the same can be made directly through the system available in the new office.

Apart from a convenient reception area and counters, the facilities include an ATM machine and awareness screens. The parking area can accommodate more than 200 cars.

“The office will work in two shifts. It will receive applications for various services provided by the department from 6 am to 1 pm. Applications from expatriates who surrender to leave the country will be received from 1 pm to 6 ,” the official added.

قال العميد عبدالله جابر اللبدة -مدير إدارة البحث والمتابعة- إن افتتاح هذا المكتب يأتي بوصفه خطوة متقدمة في مجال تسهيل حصول المواطنين والمقيمين على الخدمات التي تقدّمها الإدارة، من منطلق تعزيز الجهود التي من شأنها تقليل الوقت والجهد على المراجعين، وصولاً إلى أعلى مستويات الجودة في تقديم خدمات الوزارة، وفي تطبيق قانون دخول وإقامة الوافدين في البلاد، والعمل على الحد من العمالة السائبة والهاربة، ومغادرتهم البلاد إذا قضت الجهات المعنية بذلك بعد حصولهم على كامل حقوقهم القانونية.

ويتميّز المكتب الذي يعمل من الساعة السادسة والنصف صباحاً حتى السادسة مساء، بمساحته الكبيرة التي تستوعب أكثر من 150 مراجعاً و20 كاونتراً ومدخلين؛ مما يعطي راحة للمراجعين في عملية الدخول والخروج، وانسيابية في إنهاء المعاملات واستيعابه للتجهيزات الفنية، حيث زُوّد بأحدث أنظمة التقنية الإلكترونية الحديثة التي توفّر السهولة والدقة والوقت في إنهاء معاملات المراجعين ومتابعتها.

ويضم مكتب الخدمات موظفين على درجة عالية من الكفاءة من الضباط والرتب الأخرى وفقاً لنظام الموظف الشامل، بحيث يقوم الموظف بإنجاز المعاملات كافة التي يحتاجها المراجع دون انتقال المراجع إلى موظف آخر، وهو ما يعني أن المراجع يمكنه إنجاز معاملاته كافة عند موظف واحد ودون الحاجة إلى الدخول إلى صالات الإدارة المختلفة.

وقال المقدم علي أحمد الكواري -مساعد مدير إدارة البحث والمتابعة- إن هذا المكتب يُعدّ تطوراً نوعياً كبيراً في تقديم خدمات متميّزة للمراجعين؛ ما يدعم اتجاه وزارة الداخلية نحو تحقيق استراتيجيتها، التي منها تعزيز العلاقة مع المجتمع من خلال اللامركزية في تقديم الخدمات والتيسير على المراجعين.

وأشار إلي أن الادارة قامت بتدريب عدد من الموظفين للقيام بمهام الموظف الشامل من خلال توفير نظام إلكتروني يمكّنهم من إنهاء الإجراءات كافة المتعلقة بطلب المراجع من خلال الموظف الشامل.

وحول توفير الاستعدادات اللازمة للمكتب للقيام بمهمته، قال إن الإدارة وفّرت كل احتياجات المكتب من ضباط ورتب أخرى على قدر عالٍ من الكفاءة، وكاونتر للاستقبال، وجهاز لتوزيع أرقام على المراجعين، إلى جانب توفير مكان مريح للمراجعين، وماكينة صراف آلي، وشاشات توعوية، بالإضافة إلى توفير مواقف سيارات بالخارج تتسع لأكثر من 200 سيارة.
